It simply cannot keep a room cool. We used to have a ~5000 BTU whirlpool unit that cooled at least twice as well as this piece of junk. Stay away. We're kind of stuck with it now that we had to expand the hole in our wall to fit it. (It is MUCH bigger than specifications list) We got rid of that whirlpool one due to noise, but this one is just as noisy and we have a warm house now. Terrible.

Air blowing out of it is only about 10 degrees colder than ambient, at its coldest settings. Thats just terrible.

The window attachment is so checp that you have to use lots of masking tape to secure it and the screws that come with it will not hold the exhaust in place

when the unit gets to be one year old its very loud

lousy cooling, they also have very cheaply made filters

save your money ...if I am able to return it i would in a heart beat

Works very well as a portable unit, Definitely good value and very handy for those extra hot days. Easy to set up and operate. a little bit on the noisy side but only on max setting.

Considering purchasing a second one.

The Kenmore AC works grerat love having a remote and energy cycle too. I don't need to run it very long to have my whole room down to a comfort zone. It was easy to install, I have a bigger window that the meterials given in box so I got a piece of glass cut and it fit in the frame so it is so safe I don't worry about breakins. I think this product is great and I love that the bottom has ridges that lays on the tracks nicely....

Bought this on clearance - what a deal! It cools our home office or bedroom well in about 30 minuntes even on a really hot day. It vents out the window and fits in our closet when not in use. I am SO glad I bought this unit!

On day one the oscillator quit working. After 5 weeks the blower fan busted apart into pieces. Took it in for repair and the repair guy said he replaces these cheap fan blower all the time. Cheap plastic made in China.

I bought this unit in 2006 or 2007 and it's run fine ever since. It's very, very quiet compared to other, newer units.

I was lucky on the installation, the window opening was exactly the size of this unit, so it slid right in. I had 2 people helping, I'd never have been able to lift it myself.

Unit cools well, I have central A/C and use this unit to cool a garage that was converted into a room. When the power goes out (hurricanes), I use this unit with a Honda EU2000 generator and the generator powers it with no problem.

Buy this unit while you can, R-22 units aren't made any more and the new R-410 units are noisy as heck.

This a/c ran continuously and was only able to lower the temp 4 degrees in a room much smaller than recommended for its size. It was also loud. We returned it and bought a cheaper model window unit, rated for less BTU's than this current model, that is able to make the room cold!

I would not recommend this model.

on day 1, missing window venting parts. 1 1/2 yrs later, still no parts. the company wont respond by email or phone or in writing. product is very noisy. doesnt cool what it says it will. Live in VT so not a year round a/c unit which is why I thought portable was the way to go. 3 weeks ago a horrible smell of burned wire. hubby who is an electrician saw that the sweeping motor at the top was fried. he disconnected it. Then the other day the a/c motor seized up. tripped our breaker. house still smell 2 days later of burned wire. worst piece of garbage I actually paid money for. now I have to actually pay to have it put in landfill. decided on central air from a reputable company to be installed in the spring.

This royal air-conditioner works like magic. It is very quiet, but works with amazing power. It cools my three floor house in just a few hours and it's the only air conditioner in the household. It has a lot of power, but doesn't shoot the electric bill through the roof. Great air conditioner, reliable, and reasonable price.

So I purchased this a/c unit too cool off my small-open-ranch style home. The area I had originally wanted it to cool was about a 30x30 room but did have cathedral ceilings. I did not do the job! Ok, so I thought maybe I was asking too much with a larger sized room, so I moved it into my 11x15 bedroom for what was the hottest day of the year so far and I turned it on at 8:30p and let it run on HI with my cieling fan going...at 7:00a my room was still 81degrees !!! A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND DISAPPOINTMENT TO SAY THE LEAST! With a price off $500plus I returned this usless a/c unit!!

In addtn It was not the easiest to install but was convient to wheel....only if it cooled !!

I bought this unit approximately a month ago, so far I am very pleased with it's performance. I work graveyard , and I need my sleep during the daytime. When its hot this becomes a problem, This air conditioner cools my bedroom to a pleasant comfortable temperature. This portable Air Conditioner is very easy to operate. I'ts a little bigger than others, but it's on rollers and easy to manouver around. If I had to pick a negative thing to say about this unit, I guess it would be the window kit directions are not clear. A little self-tweaking will be needed,, however it's not hard to set up. I would recommend this unit.
