This thermostat does NOT have a back light. The picture of it illuminated in green is deceptive. After getting it installed..I feel like I was tricked into puchasing it!...

Honeynotsowell says "Honeywell 7400" about Honeywell 5/1/1 Programmable Replacement Thermostat

The Honeywell 7400 5-1-1 termostat is incompatable with my York Heat Pump. The York Heat Pump supplies wires W, O, Y, B, G, and R. These worked with the old Honeywell thermostat (rectangular, w/2 mercury bulbs, LR95329-1, T874R1871). The wall mounted panel was numbered Q674L1736.
Exchanging a new Honeywell thermostat for an old Honeywell thermostat seemed like the perfect choice -- not true. For old homes, the most common thermostats installed were the Honeywell rectangular or the Honeywell round thermostats. Honeywell should consentrate on replacing these manual thermostats with their new programable upgrades in their Installation Guide. The Installation Guide and online Customer Support did not cover installing the York Heat Pump wires to the new thermostat. Thanks....
