For years I have been fighting the mold in our closet and bath which is right off our bedroom. This product has made a wonderful difference. My damp rid is dry and no more shower mold....

I bought this to humidify my room where I kepp guitars in cases as well as drums. Luckily, I have a separate hygrometer that is very accurate because this machine does not accurately measure the humidity in the room. When I set it at 50%, it only gets the room to about 40%. When I set it at 60% it gets the room to about 54%. Unfortunately I cannot simply set the room to 45-50% without switching between settings constantly and checking up on it all the time.

Overall, I got it for a steal so I expected some inaccuracy, I just wish it was better.

I purchased this in Septeber or October. I have 3 dogs, six cats and a rabbit. The light just came on in February for the filter to be either cleaned or changed. I've purchase purifiers before and it seem you're constantly changing the filters which can be expensive. I haven't changed this one yet, but did take it out and give it a cleaning. Two smokers in the house as well!!! Works great for me and I have it in a larger room than the specs call for. It costs a little more but, as you know, you get what you pay for....

Sears did not carry the proper replacement filter (Holmes H-62), although they carry the complete product, so I had to trim the filter to fit the unit. The filter itself worked perfectly....

Great product. I fill it 3 times a day, and run it 24x7 from October thru April and it has outlasted several other humidifiers.

If you always use filerted water, it requires less cleaning. And the life of the filter pads can be extended - when it needs changing, rinse it (to remove dust) and turn over. Then when it needs replacing again, soak in bleach and water to clean and reuse one more time.

I did see some reviews that say it breaks - and saw the same reviews for almost every dehumidifier - so I put in an early review cautiously.

However.... so far so good. Looks great. Good price. Seems to work well. Remote is an excellent feature as this is in the garage.

Bucket is a little small. Initially not using pump - but good to have it in case we go that way (I wish I'd put a sink in the garage).

Overall high quality item. Hopefully will go on working.

I like my humidity close to 40% in the winter. I set the humidifier at 45%. I keep my thermostat on my gas furnace set at 69 degrees. Of course, lowering my gas bills. The house feels much warmer with the higher humidity. It's a litte noisy on the highest setting. Although this is really not a problem for me as it maintains 40% humidity on the lowest setting. The two individual water bottles make it a breeze to fill. I fill both bottles in the morning. This will last me until the next morning.

I have had 3 humidifiers prior to this one from Kenmore and have been super happy with them. Almost cried when the last one died out out wear. This new 12gallons is deceiving, it's the output not volume capacity to hold water. The construction is very poor, the plastic wellds for the water tank are very rough, not even and the tank is kind of cocked. The water tank fill up is on the side and makes it almost impossible to fill up unless you fill it in your tub or have a big bathroom sink. As the water level goes down and the resevoir tank releases water, it sounds like a toilet being flushed and will wake you up in the middle of the night 5-6 times depending on fan velocity. I could careless about the inaccurate humidity digital reader, but I do care that the fan speed 2 died after 2 weeks. I am not returning it, because I threw out the box and I'm not carrying this mini R2D2 back to the store. I am upset and disappointed with the construction quality and very poor design. I was deperate for a humidifier and I saw this online at Sears on sale.

I like the unit. It doesn't create white dust. Once a year, buy a new wick that is about $10. I clean it once a week with a little bleach. It doesn't read the humidity level properly but I just set the desired humidity level higher. I think its better to have something to read the humidity level farther away from the unit anyway.

On level 4 the fan is loud. I keep in in my bedroom on level 1 and I can fall asleep but I wouldn't say it is super quiet. Works very well. I don't worry about the unit running dry because there doesn't seem to be any danger when that happens. The fan just runs.

It says it is a tabletop unit because it shouldn't be on the carpet.

This stand-alone household humidifier is effective at keeping humidity levels high in a 6 room house. There are 3 fan speeds that can be adjusted as needed. The two water bottles are easy to fill at the kitchen sink. In a northern climate in winter, daily filling is necessary. It is also necessary to add bacteriostat chemicals to prevent fouling of the water over time, but this is true of all models. The wicks are easy to install, but if you have hard water, they will have to be replaced when they become encrusted. It works best if the front end is elevated a bit, using the plastic devices that are included or other improvised supports. The major problem with this model is that there is no way to clean the dust from the fans or the fan compartment and no way to lubricate the fan motors. They are sealed units probably for safety reasons, but both factors shorten the useful life of the humidifier. Dust accumulation and fan failure limit it to about 3 winters of use. Because...

Would and did recommend this product. It's very quiet (we have it in our living room very near our television and it does not interfere with the tv at all. We noticed an almost immediate difference in air quality in our home. We have a 1300 sq ft house, set this next to a cold-air return as instructed and it is wonderful. Bought this in desperation in the midst of two raging sinus infections, our furnace humidifier took a poo. Looks like an oxygen tank my grandmother used to have, but who cares! This thing is wonderful. I acknowledge and gently but firmly rebuff the former complaints regarding quality and usability of this humidifier. We found it to be quite easy to fill at our kitchen sink. I think perhaps it would require being particularly intellectually challenged to not be able to figure out how to fill this up easily. We have the humidity set at 45 and it needs to be refilled once every two days or so. A small price to pay for so much comfort. No more static, cat doesn't shock us......
