Very nice freezer for the money. Has the required space I was looking for,without having to buy a larger unit that would have cramped the space I had. Cheezy plastic key, but lock not really needed....

Recently purchased this freezer for our garage. Shelves are spaced for maximum storage. Freezer was very noisy at first. There was a metal tube near the compressor vibrating and hitting the side of the unit. The tube was moved about 1/8 inch away from the side and the noise went away. The unit is very stable. I would like to have a small light (led) come on when the unit is on to indicate that there is power to the unit. ALL the outlets in my garage are on a GFI outlet and the light would indicate if the GFI has tripped.

The manual specifically states that the sides including the back must be five inches away from the wall for proper circulation. We were unable to provide this clearance and may have chosen another brand / type of unit if this was known ahead of time.

I am very happy with the energy saving feature, but I have one problem. The door shelf with the soft freeze has a fine line crack. Otherwise it is quiet and efficient. Also difficult to take plastic off around the outside handle and door edge by the hinge.

I have bought 2 of these icemakers in the last 14 years. I have 4 friends that have under counter icemakers also that love them. The whole family loves the fresh, clear ice readily-available, especially for parties in hot South Texas. I run the cleaning cycle once a month that is easy to do. But you still need to buy the annual maintenance plan that runs around $125 each year. The techs are great, and give you tips on how to prolong the life of this machine, and I make sure to follow their guidelines. Yes - it is an expensive convenience. If you are trying to save money, this is not for you if you are happy running to the store to buy ice for entertaining or for a large family. It is the number one thing my kids missed when they went off to college - the ice machine at home!

The Kenmore 12.1 cu. ft. Upright Freezer is efficiant, has a lot of shelf space and door space. The only problem that we see with this freezer is that it is loud and we are glad that it is in our garage and not in the kitchen....

I purchased this freezer to hold my cakes for my cake business. My home refrigerator/freezer is usually full and it's a balancing act to get my cakes in there. I love that instead of baskets, there are shelves to hold my cakes level. I set up the freezer myself and started it and it cooled down pretty quickly. I have it set just under 3 and it seems great. Doesn't make too much noise and does not take up too much space. Perfect for my needs. So far so good. Great price too....

I have used a chest type freezer for over 30 years, but I have to say I love the convenence of the upright. Everything is easy to reach and very spacious.

This chest freezer I purchased from Sears stopped working after 8 months. I had it set on level 4 for coldness and came home and the inside started melting. I figured it had an auto defrost setting. Nope. Completly stopped working.Im a lactating mother and purchased this freezer to store my babies milk. Thank goodness I caught this in time. Had all my milk thawed, I would have gone Momma Bear on someone.

Luckily, a Sears tech came out and said they have had a lot of problems with this specific unit not working after awhile. Sears is replacing my unit free of charge. Thank goodness for the warrenty.

Ordered this freezer for some extra storage but in our small house didn't have much room for an additional freezer. This one has fit perfectly in our laundry room and I was impressed with the actual amount of space inside. So far it's been working great!
