I bought these units trying to get the look and storage of an all freezer/all fridge similar to sub zero or the like at a reasonable price. They look great and they are the first thing that is complimented on in the kitchen but they have been nothing but a hassle from day one. The freezer seems to have had no issues whatsoever but I am on my second fridge repair after 2 months. After 2 weeks the digital thermostat shut off and unit wouldn't cool. After the repair facility took a month to get a new unit it was finnaly repaired. Only took like 5 minuted but I still don't know if ut was Electrolux or the appliance store that took so long to get the replacement unit. I bielive it was the repair store because after 2 weeks with no call they told me that they had just made a call and orderded the item. Since it was an electronic component that failed I assumed that it was damaged during a thunderstorm we had previously had. Well 2 weeks later it happend again. This time there were no storms...
...

I purchased a whole kitchen full of the ICON series. So far, I'm not too happy with the quality of all the products. I've only had them for 6 months and I've had the double oven repaired twice ... and now I'm on my second time for the refrigerator. Both times, it's had an issue where ice begins to form around the cooling coils and on the inside. This keeps getting worse until the unit stops cooling. The appliances look great but their quality is definitely questionable at this point. I'd look at other brands....

Our unit was only 1 1/2 yrs. old when it stopped cooling. Warranty is only 1 year..not good. Hired a repairman and were told the compressor was bad so it was replaced. This did not solve the problem. because the freon was leaking too..we then were told that it had a leak in the cooling system..tried to seal the leak with a special sealeat added to the freon...worked a few days. The leak cannot be acccessed because of the location. Now we have paid nearyly $600 to repair ad extremely poor quality unit that we paid $800 and now has to be replaced.
My Mother's first fridg is still working and is 60 years old....

I have three growing boys under the age of six, a 16 year old son and a husband whom all deplete our weekly groceries before the end of the week. I was excited about purchasing the refrigerator only unit because of the space it provides. I keep multiple gallons of juice, milk and water in our refrigerator at all times and this doesn't include the containers of left overs. The refrigerator didn't work from go! My beverages weren't cold enough, my produce was wilting and the left overs were spoiling. I pumped the unit up to the little snow flake symbol to no avail. The service team came out & informed me of a compressor problem that would take 4-6 weeks to repair! I waited 4-5 weeks to have the unit delvered when purchased!...

Refrigerator never worked correctly of the box. Worked with service to repair, however could not fix. Sears was very responsive in sending replacement unit. Like the concept and layout. Disappointed in quality of materials, however even par with completing Frigidaire unit. While quieter then the Frigidaire equivalent model it comes with a cost. The elimination of an external cooling fan for the compressor lowered the noise and reliability. I can see why these units may only last 5 years, Unit runs very hot and is noisy. A 2 dollar fan and some insulation would do wonders to improve the design. Another issue the units should have a method to be connected together. The units move around when you open the door and constantly need to be realigned with one another. The completing Frigidaire unit also has no solution to anchor the units together. I believe consumers shopping for this combination of units are looking for function and are willing to spend a few extra dollars for improved quality.......

Please be aware that this product has issues. My 5 year warranty expired in Oct 2007 and in June 2008 the Whirlpool technician said everything - compressor, drier and evaporator units - need to be replaced for $1,000+. The warning sign to watch for is continuous running. At 2:00 a.m. it would be running. Be watchful and aware....

Just got it yesterday and it is the best investment I have ever made. Very spacious, lets me fit everything I want in the fridge and there is still space. I am able to see everything inside and I don't have to rummage over things to find what I am looking for. Adjustable shelves and door shelves helps to accomodate large or small item. Love it....
