We live on a farm. If you want the dirt to come out of your clothes, this is NOT the machine to buy. I have to wash just about EVERYTHING on the bulky cycle and THEN run the clothes through the rinse and spin cycle, Even after two washes, I'm lucky if my clothes are clean. So much for energy efficient! Whites are the only clothes I can wash without having to run them through another cycle. Trust me when I say...stay away from this appliance. Thankfully we are moving and leaving the applicance(s). Yea! I will not buy another energy efficient machine again. I would much rather have a higher electric bill then have the headaches of having to deal with this washer again.

This laundry center was installed from my elderly mother just one year ago. She used it once a day for one load. The tub cracked and needs replacement just days after the manufacturer's warranty expired! My family has purchased SEARS Kenmore appliances for over 60 years -- but NO MORE. This is an outrageous situation and to date SEARS has not agreed to remedy the situation. I have a large family and am on the Board of my co-op corporation. I will discourage everyone I know from purchasing SEARS appliances.

After what we went through using GE Adora, I never want to see the letters G and E again for anything. For those who remember 70s and 80s, think Pinto (the car). The Lemon law should be expanded to home appliances. I already wasted enough time on GE Adora and thus won't waste another minute writing you of all things that was wrong with and how it died. I won't tell you how every time we washed children cloths small socks would go through the drum (lord knows how) and would end up in a filter that you have to take the washer apart to get to it. Call a service man and that's 100 bucks every time. If you didn't, the washing cycle would never end as it couldn't drain the water. Thats just one example. I have at least 50 more storeis to tell. As one caring human being to another...don't buy GE washers. Spend a little more and get something else. They put a product out in the market (based on other reviews) that they KNEW was defective. That's a total lost of trust with me....

I owned this washing machine for 1 1/2 years and the temperature control and timer switch went bad. It was under warranty so I had to go through Sears for the repair. I was without a washer for over two weeks because they did not have the part. Now, 1 1/2 years later, I have the exact same problem. Sears told me to call Whirlpool and Whirlpool told me to call Sears. There is obviously a defect in the washer or these parts. Now I have an independent repair man coming to fix it. I will never purchase another product from Sears....or any maker of Sears appliances.

I am capable of following manufacturers directions.....so please do not think I am some less than intelligent house mouse that does not follow them! Even doing exctly as stated, the washer is HORRIBLE! I would say one of the worst ever consumer rip-offs ever (well maybe not as bad as the Cadillac 4/6/8 engines)! This thing is ROUGH on your clothes. I have had it for 8 weeks and I have already found several clothing items that have been a little (or a lot) shredded after being washed....not before being washed, but after . As well as being ROUGH ROUGH ROUGH, on your clothes.......this thing is a WRINKLE MAKING MIRACLE! It causes wrinkles as I have never seen and I iron most things, but it makes ironing much more difficult. Last, I am five foot three and I have to get the clothes out of the bottom of the tub with a grabber thing that was made for handicapped people as I cannot reach them! The only thing I can say is large capacity and quiet......so if you like shredded,...

I own this washer and the corresponding dryer and am pleased with them. Obviously the capacity is good and we wanted the convenience of a top-loader rather than the window units. From what I can tell the funny looking ones with stands that cost 25% of the unit are now going out of fashion as these new units hold more (increased efficiency right there), are more electrically efficient than your old top loader, don't get the mildew round the rim issue, and generally cost a bit less.

As for running costs all I can say is it costs a fraction of the old units I replaced but then anything on the market now would save you money in running costs.

The washer and dryer are quick, high capacity, quiet, and efficient. Parts are easy to get if you need to go there. There have been some issues getting parts for LG and Samsung units apparently.

The Kenmore HE Front Loading Washer is a great time saver. It washes clothes clean the first time so I don't need to rewash them. It has six different water temperature settings for more choices than traditional washers. The washer has an extended spin cycle that gets clothes dryer before they are ever added to the dryer or hung on the line for quicker drying. The washer spins and then fluffs the clothes before turning off. This makes the clothes much more adaptable for hanging on the clothes line. The energy saving washer really does save on energy and the use of HE detergent saves even more money. This washer is much quieter than my traditional washer and the spin cycle does a great job while not shaking the house. I am very pleased with my washer. I would recommend it to anyone who is tired of having to rewash clothes or who just wants to save energy and money. It is a beautiful addition to my wash room as well. I have mine in black and a drawer addition on the bottom.......

I purchased this Samsung top load in October 2011. They exchanged it 3x. It does not rinse in the Normal and Heavy Duty cycles. When I first called Samsung tech support, they told me it is suppose to rinse the same way in all the cycles. It does rinse in the Towel, Bedding and Quick wash cyles. Each of the machines that I had did something different in the Normal cycle. On the 3rd machine, Sears repair man called Samsung to see how it suppose to rinse in the Norman cycle. They did not know. Samsung tech support said only their engineers who built the machine would know. We decided to keep the machine until the warranty ends, then we will purchase a different brand. So I wash in the Towel and Bedding cycles. Only problem with that is that it is tearing and putting holes in our clothes. It also stretches out our clothes. So now I hand wash most of my clothes. Just the bigger things go into the washer. Bottom line, I hate this machine and can't wait to get rid of it. Do not......

I wish I didn't have to give this washer 1 star! Have had the repairman out twice, but still having the same problem. The washer won't spin the clothes dry. I've tried taking everything out and redistributing, tried smaller loads, tried starting the entire wash cycle over, nothing helps. The clothes always wind up sopping wet. Maybe I got a lemon, but I've read where other reviewers have had the same problem. Sometimes it takes me 2-3 days to get 1 load of laundry done; I'm constantly running out of clean clothes to wear. It seems to clean okay when I can actually get the thing to work, but I HATE this washer! DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER!!!!
