shelahquilts says "Kenmore dryer is the economical choice." about Kenmore Dryer

Although this was not the most inexpensive model on the floor, it is the most efficient model for the price. It has just enough bells and whistles to give you choices but not so much that it is confusing or unnecessary. The dryer has a light in the tub area to help you find that missing sock, an easy to reach and clean lint filter, and a smooth instrument panel that is easy to clean. The dials are easy to read and operate. Some minor things that might effect a buyer: the machine sits farther away from the wall that our previous dryer. That may or may not effect people depending on where their machine is located. Also, know where you need the dryer to vent: from the side, back or bottom. We were not asked when we purchased the dryer and it made the dryer a little more difficult to install. The installers were successful but it might need to be addressed at the warehouse or factory before the machine is delivered.
...

Our Kenmore washing machine died so we read washing machine reviews for a while then went to Sears planning to just get a similar one. The Salesperson pointed out that with the $200 rebate from PG&E this model was only slightly more than the basic Kenmore model. Plus there is the added savings over time from the reduction in water and power usage.
We have only been using it for about 4 days now, but it seems to do an excellent job and with very little detergent. If I notice any problems I will post again later. But so far, I'm very happy with it.
...

I have been looking for the last two months and finally settled on this washer based on the reviews here. I was satisfied with the features, yet concerned about not having control of the water level. It was delivered yesterday and I have run a few loads with it. First and foremost, this think is LOUD. Everything works correctly, it is leveled properly and the spin cycle is not the issue. (Spin is actually the quietest cycle.) It sounds like there was no effort made whatsoever to insulate or reduce the noise in any way. The switches between each cycle are very loud and clunky, the pump to drain the tub is as loud as a leaf blower (A bit of a stretch, but almost) I just wonder what effect all this rough action will have on the longevity of the machine. I previously had a Kenmore 70 series washer for the last 10 years and this new unit is twice as loud as that was. On another note, I was concerned about the "auto load sensing" feature. I was assured that...
...

We recently replaced a Bosch front loader purchased in 2004. It still worked but my non matching dryer went out and I wanted to get a larger capacity set. We decided on the LG due to the warranty and the JD Powers awards. So far (2+months) I could be happier with it. My clothes smell cleaner than ever and come clean! I can fit a lot in the washer. The dryer works great as well. I love all the features that are on these units. It does weight the clothes and show you how much detergent you need...kind of a cool feature! I have had no smell with the washer but I do leave the door open as I did with my Bosch and never had issues. We recently purchased the pedistals when a store had them on sale. They are nice but not needed. It does make it easier to get items out and not forget socks in them. I would recommend the WM2301 washer and matching dryer!
...

I researched for months before purchasing a washer/dryer. Finally decided on the canyon capacity because of the size. Washer - big disappointment; Dryer is fair. The default for drying is the medium setting and almost alway have to adjust to more dryness. I often get a code 44 when opening and closing dryer door during load. Have to cancel cycle and start over when this happens. Clothes can easily become wrinkled if I don't catch early in the cycle. Once certain cycles are set, you cannot adjust controls. You have to cancel and start over. NOT a practical design.
...

I bought this washer when we sold our former home and purchased a new one. I had a newer washer and dryer pair, that we sold with our former home, they were the Maytag Epic Pair, I liked that pair, but as part of the offer on our home, the buyer wanted the pair, and in todays economy, we were willing to conced on the Maytag pair. We researched several Washers and Dryers, and decided on this LG washer and a matching dryer, and we are very satisfied with them. Easy to use, and does a teriffic job cleaning my families clothes. I would recommend this washer to a friend,
...

Okay simply put this washer has the space I need for my family. Like most we are busy and clothing is changed often based on the sporting event. The amount I can wash at once is fantastic. The speed control is also outstanding; I mean not everything should be swished a few times at a high speed then rinsed. I have washed queen sized bedding with room to spare! So the next time I threw in additional throws from the ballgame. The installation was also a breeze; no need to work around a delivery guy my husband brought them home and installed in about an hour, that includes the time it took to move out the old one! Very pleased with this purchase though because it has those extra parts I did buy the additional warranty but Kenmore has proven to be a well made brand so not too concerned.
...

Great washer for large loads; the plate at the bottom of the washer that agitates to clean the clothes allows you to fill the washer with more laundry than any other model. It showers the dirty laundry with sudsy water and gently agitates to clean allowing you to safely wash delicates and woolens. The results were superior to any laundry detergent and booster combined. Terrific for families, uses less water, and is efficient but it does not customize the amount of water or energy it uses for small versus large loads.
...

I really hate this machine. I have had this machine for about 9 months now. I dread doing laundry because I am afraid of what this washing machine will do to my clothes. The detergent tray is poorly designed. The liquid soap goes in right away. If you are not careful when closing the tray, the bleach and fabric softener will go into the clothes even before the cycle starts. The water doesn't seem to come out hot, even on the hottest settings. When the water is filling it all comes right down the door and into the drain.

Stains do not come out in the washer. I pretreat EVERYTHING and use hot water and still have stains from simple things that I never even pretreated before. I have tried several different detergents and methods, but this washer just doesn't clean very well.

I bought a Kenmore since it has always been a dependable brand. Also, it was on sale and had features my wife liked; very versitile. It is moderately quiet, and saves on water usage with its load sensor, however, if the lid is raised to put more items in after it is turned on it negates the load sensor and fills the machine up to capacity. We have had to adjust to this. After several months we had a defective washer transmission, however Sears repair were "Johnny on the spot" and the machine was repaired at no cost to us. We particularly like the numerous washing options which meet our needs from my heavily soiled construction workware to our little grandbabies lightly soiled clothing. While the machine is rather pricey, Sears one year with no interest payments made the purchase quite reasonable and easy. This washer is a keeper!
...

I am reviewing this washer for my family, I am a very busy mother, wife, hard worker out of the home and work about 80 hours a week. I do not have a lot of time but still prefer to separate my laundry as I was taught as a little girl by my grandmother. With my new washer I can do about two normal size loads in this washer and it saves me time and money. I bought the new teal one which is my favorite color, and I love all the great features that it has. The one that I purchased is a front load model and it is so convenient, it has the compartments so that I can put all my laundry aides in at once and go on to do my other household chores or play with my grandchildren while the laundry is doing itself. I would not trade this for any other washer on the market. It is the best buy that I think I have ever purchased.

2 weeks and so far so good. Husband beats me to the laundry. Have tried to pack it full with the same results-clean, fresh, QUIET laundry! The trick is He detergent and softener, at recommended measures. It has alot of buttons but easy master settings. All other buttons just tell you what will be happening during selected master setting. Note whiter-whites setting really is whiter. We tried washing 4 out of 5 already (professionally laundered) old lab coats and the 4 where totally whiter then the fifth and embroidered logo unaffected. We did by the 3 yr warranty.
...

We bought a Kenmore Elite HE5t Washer & Dryer in June 2009. A very bad move - these models are too unreliable (sensors keep failing) and require too much service to perform RELIABLY. We have not used any of the fancy features - and were just looking to replace our old machine with a new one that did not need a service person every day.

In the first 2 days of installation, the dryer door sensor kept tripping and stopping the dryer cycle. So we insisted on getting a new dryer and have not had that problem since.

Now 4 months later, the washer cycle keeps stopping with a sensor failure. One service trip and a new sensor later, we had the same problem recur in 24 hrs and now I'm waiting for 3 days for the next service visit while washing clothes by hand.

We completely regret our purchase - $3000 is a lot to spend for such a terrible washer/dryer pair.

Since our 1st Whirlpool dryer (1971 gas model), we have not been able to find a decent electric dryer that always drys all the clothes the 1st time. This unit does exactly that. This in spite of the fact that our vent system was not ideal (greater than 10 feet in length and with two 90 degree turns. In our opinion, this unit has just the right amount of selections and controls. As I say in the "sound bite", the automatic dry sensor actually works. Our energy (electric) bill took a significant nosedive the month we bought & installed the unit. The savings continue to date....

First off this puppy wasn't cheap but i was conned into looking at it by my wife after my 10yrold washer finally lost a motor and clutch assembly which would have been to costly to repair. The looks got me at first and i started to look into the pros and cons and because it's so new i really couldn't find too many negatives. The other front load machines seemed way to troublesome. As it stands now this unit looks good and cleans double the amount of clothes my old washer did in half the time! With the lowpro agitator i also don't have to worry about damaged clothes either. I work on my own machines so if this one gives me any trouble i will update this review..
...

We got our Matag 4.0 Front Loader washer on Sunday and it has been great. It does take a little longer to wash than our old top loader, but I have already noticed the clothes, especially the whites, are cleaner and brighter.

My twin boys like to take turns starting the machine. (With supervision of course). The also like to watch it during the high speed spin. Who would of thought a washer machine could be so entertaining.

So far this machine is wonderful and we are enjoying it very much.
...

Mark-BE says "The Kenmore Elite HE5t makes laundry a quick and easy task." about Kenmore Elite HE5t Steam 4.0 cu. ft. King Size Capacity Plus Front Load Washer

We bought the Kenmore Elite HE5t about six months ago and I didn't want to review it until we had a chance to break it in (and make sure it didn't break-down.) The first unit delivered was DOA, but Sears was out to exchange it the next day and the second one has worked flawlessly. The dispensers are at a good height to fill without bending over too far; the machine holds plenty of dirty clothes, sheets, towels and even several painting drop cloths. It is quiet and for the normal cycle it completes in about 20 minutes (vs. the 30+ our old machine used to take.) We love the fact that it has a setting for releasing Oxi cleaner and the kids clothing cycle really gets our 5 year old son's clothes perfectly clean. All in all I couldn't recommend this washer more to anyone (and in fact have done so to most of my friends.)
...

DorothyVallens says "I LOVE IT!!! Energy Efficient, Easy to Use and well, Pretty!" about LG 4.2 cu. ft. Capacity Front Load Washer w/ Sanitary cycle

I absolutely LOVE my LG 4.2 Front Load Washer w/Sanitary Cycle, I also love the coordinating Dryer. The set is very much worth the money and I recommend getting the pedestal's as well, they're great for storing your products (plus they look good). Both appliances are loaded with tons of options for washing/drying your clothes. Your even told exactly how long your loads are going to take and a cute song is played at the beginning and end. The sanitary cycle is excellent for towels, baby items and if you've been ill, you know all those nasty germs have been nixed. I recently had a garage sale and almost everyone who came complimented the pair. I could go on and on about them and I never used to care about such things. You definitely wont be disappointed.
...
