Reviews about Front-Load Washers

phreedom says "We went through hell and back using a GE Adora washer!" about GE 4.1 cu. ft. Front-Load Washer (Model GFWH240)

After what we went through using GE Adora, I never want to see the letters G and E again for anything. For those who remember 70s and 80s, think Pinto (the car). The Lemon law should be expanded to home appliances. I already wasted enough time on GE Adora and thus won't waste another minute writing you of all things that was wrong with and how it died. I won't tell you how every time we washed children cloths small socks would go through the drum (lord knows how) and would end up in a filter that you have to take the washer apart to get to it. Call a service man and that's 100 bucks every time. If you didn't, the washing cycle would never end as it couldn't drain the water. Thats just one example. I have at least 50 more storeis to tell.

As one caring human being to another...don't buy GE washers. Spend a little more and get something else. They put a product out in the market (based on other reviews) that they KNEW was defective. That's a total lost of trust with me....

The kenmore Elite HE5T Steam 4>0 cu ft is about the largest capacity front loading washer on the market, designed for medium to large families. The steam feature allows you to freshen up your clothes, therefore saving money on trips to the dry cleaner. Its size allows you to wash more clothes in each wash, really makes it easy to keep up with a busy family. The Kenmore washer is comparable to the Samsung, GE and LG washers. The machine uses less water and detergent. It has the new seals that resist mold, mildew and ordors. This is truly a "best buy", especially during the Sears Appliance Days....

Villageanne says "Clean Clothes With Less Work" about KENMORE HE Front Loading Washer

The Kenmore HE Front Loading Washer is a great time saver. It washes clothes clean the first time so I don't need to rewash them. It has six different water temperature settings for more choices than traditional washers. The washer has an extended spin cycle that gets clothes dryer before they are ever added to the dryer or hung on the line for quicker drying. The washer spins and then fluffs the clothes before turning off. This makes the clothes much more adaptable for hanging on the clothes line. The energy saving washer really does save on energy and the use of HE detergent saves even more money.

This washer is much quieter than my traditional washer and the spin cycle does a great job while not shaking the house.

I am very pleased with my washer. I would recommend it to anyone who is tired of having to rewash clothes or who just wants to save energy and money. It is a beautiful addition to my wash room as well. I have mine in black and a drawer addition on the bottom.......

We have been extremely happy with this washer. It's quite and efficient. It seems to be very easy on clothes - we notice far less lint in the dryer than previous washer.

I could do without the chime when it's turned on and off. This unit is located near an entry way. The power button is easy to hit accidentally. These are pretty minor issues.
...

kdk1711 says "My Kenmore Front Loader is Greatly Different!" about Kenmore Front-Load Washing Machine 3.5 cubic feet

I spent a lot of time agonizing over the negative reviews of this machine before we purchased it. I'm glad we decided to take the chance. For those of us who are used to seeing our clothes disappear under a ton of water before the wash cycle starts - this is definitely a new experience!

Our thought on the first load was "how are our clothes going to get clean by getting barely wet and with that little soap?" After a couple of loads my wife said - the washer is getting stains out I'd given up on.

Yes, water remains in the detergent dispenser after use, but I've found out if you leave the dispenser drawer open it evaporates quickly.

We also leave the washer door open between uses; the door seal is so watertight that any moisture remaining after a wash doesn't evaporate - I can easily see where after a while this water would become "stale and smelly" as described in some of the reviews here - but leaving the door slightly open seems to keep the inside dry.

I would also encourage people......

Even when it worked, it was annoying - took a long time to cycle/wash/dry and was loud during the rinse and spin cycles.

Within a few months of owning it, it started getting stuck during the wash cycle to where you have to restart the cycle over. Then the door ended up jamming and our clothes were stuck inside for a week with runaround from Bosh and the store we bought it from until we finally had to break the door handle to get our clothes out.

What a total piece of garbage. Avoid this unit!!
...

Buyer Beware! We previously bought a dishwasher from Sears and have had a great experience with product and installation. Our experience with the Kenmore washer has been a different story. Delivery and installation team rushed through the install and did not properly level washer. I attempted to have delivery team come back out to fix problem, and had 2 scheduled service calls end up in "no shows" without any notification that my appointment was canceled. My husband figured out how to level the washer, and discovered the delivery and installation team did not lock the leveling legs in place. In fact, the delivery and installation team screwed the locks the wrong way. Dealing with customer service, which is outsourced to India, was very frustrating with long hold times etc. I would NOT recommend purchasing an appliance from Sears.
...
