We bought our HE2t 44 months ago, the summer of 2008. At that time, we had a 2 year old and a 9 month old. We use cloth diapers. We do an average of two loads of laundry every day. We have never had to have a single repair done on this washer. We have no smell problems with the gasket - we leave the door open after every wash and do a clean cycle about once a week. We use Delay start just about every day, and have never needed any functions that others may have that this one does not have.

Several months after we bought it, the plastic covering the Start button cracked, and it has been cracked ever since, but it has no impact on the function of the washer. See attached picture.

A few months ago, we had a situation that required us to wash practically ever piece of fabric on our house. The washer ran about twelve loads a day for four days and hever had a single problem.

I would absolutely recommend this model to anyone looking for a front loader, and when our finally dies,...

Well where do I begin. This washer is the most maddeningly frustrating POS I have ever owned. If you buy one get used to being on familial terms with a Sears service man. The error codes F70 and F71 WILL be burned into your consciousness. What happens? The machine stops in mid cycle and locks your cloths up for hours while it endlessly resets itself. Apparently the door either locks when it should be unlocked, causing an error, or unlocks when it should be locked. All of this results in endless hours waiting for the door to open so you can retrieve your soaking wet cloths to wring them out by hand hoping that at the very least the soap has been rinsed out of them. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I'm just hoping a Sears Rep has the guts to contact me so I can vent some frustration on someone. Do yourself a favor, buy a wash bucket and a rock. You'll be happier and your cloths will be cleaner. oh, by the way I just love how this washer puts spots all over my shirts from time to time.

I have seen a lot of bad reviews on this machine, but I have to say that it has been a great machine for my family. We have owned the Oasis for 5 years and average 3 full loads of launder per day (8 children and two adults).

I have had to do absolutely nothing to this machine until today, other than clean the outer tub and the outside of the inner basket every year. Today the water pump for the drain finally failed. I am replacing the pump will keep going with this machine.

Concidering that the life expectancy of a household washing machine is 5600 loads over a 14 year period, I think we have done very well with the Kenmore Elite Oasis.

We were a bit squeemish about buying front-load laundry applicances. Nevertheless, this pair has been incredibly easy to adapt to! Now, we would never go back to the old agitator type washer!! The washer does a great job at cleaning the clothes, uses less detergent, and MUCH MUCH less water!!!! :) Even though this pair can handle incredibly large loads, it easily cleans a very small load. The 'Express Wash' feature is awesome for lightly soiled, small, loads!

I purchased a Kenmore Elite Top Load High Efficiency washing machine in 2009 along with its twin Dryer. Here two years later (after the Warranty) the Washing machine makes a terrible growling sound as it spins the tub. After spending an afternoon disassembling the machine, the problem was identified as a failing drive shaft bearing. Going to the Sears appliance parts website, I find out that the bearing cannot be purchased as a replacement part, the entire inner wash tub must be ordered at a cost of $226. Imagine my shock not only for a major home appliance that did not last a full 2 years (expected 10-20 years of use) but then to repair it I would have to shell out almost a third of the cost of the machine (assuming I perform the repair myseld) and then have no confidence it would last more than another 2 years. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in Sears and Kenmore. They use to have a good reputation. Apparently the machine I have was made by Whirlpool. The comparable...

We have not had the machine for even 3 years and now the machine makes incredibly loud noises and is out of balance. Tried to get fixed but broken parts showed up. This repair is going to be incredibly expensive. This should not happen to a relatively new high end machine. The service has been slow. We use to be Kenmore loyalists, but not any more!!!

Have had this washer only a little over a year and not impressed

Have had it lock up many times requiring rest to get going

And when pumping water out it will wake the dead spin cycle is very load as well at high speeds

I am now in the marked for something much quiter

I purchased (cost to much) two sets of Kenmore Oasis Washers and Dryers. One set for myself, one for my grand daughter. We have not had good service with either set. Had to replace control panel on both washers (f1) and on one dryer. Timer would not advance and dryers do not dry very well. Lent traps do not catch all the lent. Had both sets about four years. Very dissatified. Still have GE washer and dryer that is 19 years old and still work like they are new. What was wrong with the timers that were on machines a few years ago? They worked for ever, no trouble. Sears droped the ball on this washer and dryer.

Great washer. It really does a great job getting clothes clean. I especially like the sanitizer cycle for cleaning stinky towels that can't be bleached. They smell like new again (especially when wet towels get left on the floor for a couple days)! My only complaint is that the washer is very hard on clothes. Almost all of my good quality, brand-new towels now have holes. As do a lot of the clothes. I hope they fix this problem...

My washer/dryer combo unit broke down and was making holes in all my expensive clothing, not to mention the numerous repair jobs it went through. The Kenmore washer and dryer I purchased have saved me money on my laundry detergent, dry cleaning, and clothing bills. Clothes come out clean, no holes, less detergent necessary with the HE products (instant savings there). I do more of my dry cleaning in the delicate cycle and save tons on washing my business suits and separates at home. Clothing come out wrinkle free. The bonus . . it's not noisy like my old units were.

Bought this set November 2009, set delivery for January but pushed it off to March as we remodeled our house. The set has worked great up to today October 2010. Dryer stopped dead. Make a loud rumbling sound, finished cycle and loaded next load. Unit will not start. Just got off the phone with Sears service is scheduled for Tuesday (today is Sunday). So Far I am a happy camper! I do need to find out if my warranty prior starts at the day of purchase or delivery! I may not be so happy

We purchased this washer, with it's matching dryer, about one year ago. I wanted to write a review then, but thought that I'd wait until we had some time with it. From the beginning I loved the washer/dryer! I used to *hate* doing laundry, but now I like doing the laundry and almost look forward to it! The cycle's seem to be a little longer than our old top loader, but the clothes are much cleaner with a lot less detergent. I also like that it looks like a top loading set, because it is different from other front loaders.

The only thing that I would caution about, and from my research this is inherent in front loaders, is that it is important to dry off the rubber around the door after the last load of laundry. This will help ensure that mold doesn't grow in there and start smelling.

I would heartily recommend this washer/dryer set.
