GPS is nice and simple to use!

Pros: simple touch screen , nice widescreen, fast processor so it connects to satellites very quickly, and the text-to-speech feature is great.

Cons: power cord seems kind of big and bulky for such a small device.

We received a roadmate as a gift and we were so excited to have one untill we tried to use it. It worked fine for the first day but when we tried to load in the new updates for the maps, which was included with it, it frose up and would not work. When I called magellan to see what they could do about it, they could not fix it. They said i would have to send it in and since I did not have a credit card to give them, I would have to wait untill they received it to see if I could get a new one. I had to pay for the shipping also. I didnt think this was very fair since I hadnt even got to use it at all. I think they could of been a little nicer about the whole thing. I ended up having to wait two weeks to finally get a replacement from them that should of worked the first time.

The unit I received did not annouce street names just turm left or right in ....... feet. Hard to do when doing 60mph. The TomTomwebsite and customer support phone line both state that a computer voice nneds to be installed. Why wasn't it installed at the factory is another question I would like to know the answer too. After attempting to follow the instructions to do this the unit spit out an error message. Paraphrasing, " this unit is incompatible with this operation. After several calls to customer support I shipped the unit back for a replacement. The replacement does the same exact thing. Now I'm on my thrid attempt. Save your money don't buy this model.

Gosh, I guess I love GPSs. I 've tried quite a few and purchased quite a few. I bought this mainly to find addresses in unfamiliar cities and at $100, I wasn't expecting too much, as built-in navigator options can run to $2K. Well, this little package certainly EXCEEDED my expectations.

First, it's easy and intuitive to use. Second, the visual presentation, while small, is clear, well organized, and easily readable some distance away from the drivers seat. The spoken instructions are easily audible, even in my diesel powered Chevy pickup (we pull a large camping trailer). The navigation "computations" seem fast, and in "test" routes to some already-known obscure destinations, the routes suggested were appropriate and accurate. While "toylike" in size (compared to some large marine units I've used), this is definitely not toylike in performance. If you need a basic unit for occasional navigation chores in unfamiliar places, this unit would be hard to beat at this price.

I ordered the Garmin Nuvi 200 and expected it would come with the new map software (City Navigation North America NT version 2008) as others had received, but unfortunately, mine came with the old map (version 8). I called Garmin support and they wanted $75 more for the updated map. I'm very disappointed at Garmin's new marketing tactic because the last time I purchased the Street Pilot 2610, they provided me with the FREE update software within 30 days of the purchased date to bring my GSP to current map info. How do you know which map version you have? Go to Tool>Setting>Map>MapInfo on the Nuvi 200. There is no info on the box or in the box to indicate which map software version a particular Nuvi 200 has. However, some people reported in GSP forum that the Nuvi 200 with serial # 14H06xxxx and 14H10xxxx have the old (version v8) map software, and the ones with serial # 14H15xxxx and 14H17xxxx have the new (version 2008) map software. This is an excellent GPS. It does give you the elevation of your location and the way you get to that is to tap on the "tow truck". I like that feature, especially since I live in the mountains. If you need to charge the battery while in your house, you can use the USB cable from your camera (I have a CANON). Once you connect the USB to your computer, hold the on/off button down and turn it off. It will charge the battery even when it's off. I like the way it recalculates my new route quickly. The speech is very clear for street names and turns. I get multiple satellites even in the house in a matter of seconds. My friend is hard of hearing and likes the chimes best of the 3 choices, and my friend also likes the way it fills in while she's typing a street name or a city. Another feature she likes is how she can name a trip and make it a favorite. We couldn't do it with our Honda GPS and that aggravated her to no end. i bought the tom tom gps like 30 mins ago and i have to say its vary nice when i was at sears when i saw the display verison i was on the edge about geting it just because is was 5ins of screen and that is would be to big in the window but i went ahead and got it so when i got home i unboxed it and it was nice it comes with a computer and car charger and a window mount so it was great so i turned it on and set it up so when i got it in the window i started to drive and the gps tells you how fast your going and everything it even comes in 3D but the only this thtas wrong with it is that if u hit a bump in the road it will fall so take it easy when your driving but other than

ITS THE BEST THING GOING SO GO OUT AND BUY ONE!!!!!!!

We got this Magellan GPS system, come to find out it is the best!! It has the latest updates, easy to use, can find almost anyplace!. I love this product, and would recommend it to anyone who is needing a new GPS or just starting out with one!!

this was my first gps device and to be honest, I am very pleased with it. Its accurate, user friendly, reliable and updated to every location. Build quality is great and the mounts that come with it work great in my car. Also the battery life is great but i doubt anyone would actually use it for hand held navigation (everyone has a smart phone nowdays).

step by step navigation is also great..no gliches and never has it wronged me. Even tells speed limit and what lane you should be in.

The TomTom XXL 550 is wonderful. The large screen is great for at a glance while driving knowing where you are and when the turn is coming up. The GPS lets you pick points of interest that will always pop up on the screen, so if you have kids and need to know when the rest stops are coming up its wonderful to have. My husband loves that he can download new maps and voices for it also, right now we have Bert and Ernie and so the kids love it too....

After my last GPS was stolen I wasn't even sure that I would buy another one. However when I came across this one right before Xmas at $39.97 I decided that it was well worth the price (my previous Garmin cost me $129.99). What a bargain! This compact GPS works great and is small enought to fit in my console for protection....

I got this TomTom Ease on clearance for $14.97! I just got it today, so I have not had a chance to use it too much, but I did use it a little. It has most of the features my much more expensive Garmin has and seems to be a bit easier to use as well. The one thing I would change about it is to make the screen a bit larger, but for $14.97 I can live with it....
