I own a GE answering machine almost identical to this one, but not the exact same model. I like the basic features of this answering machine and GE does make good quality answering machines, cordless phones, and hand-held tape recorders...I know, because I own them all. : )

I was walking across my carpeted floor to retrieve my messages then I felt a little shock as I pressed the play button. I never got the messages and the machine just started beeping and wouldn't stop until it was unplugged. I called the company and they said to ship it back to the manufacturer and they would send me a new one. But, the price of shipping it was just a couple $$ less than I paid for it. I guess you really do get what you pay for....

I have had no problems with this answering machine. I hooked it up and programmed it with no trouble, and I tested it in every way possible. All I wanted was a machine to answer my phone, take messages, and allow me to retrieve them from another location, and that is what I got. And the price was right....

I used this machine for years. Lightening killed it and I am replacing it. It is easy to use. It holds about 52-55 messages and allows you to keep some and discard others. It has a fast forward to speed the listening process and a back up to replay....

The first one I bought i returned because the machine would not record the messages. I could hear the messages being left, but it wouldn't tape them. Retuened the machine and bought a second one. Same problem. Even while listening to the person "leave" the message (which it wouldn't record) the voice quality was very poor. I'm getting a totally different one tomorrow!...

Some of my incoming messages are incomplete. I hear one to three words of the message and it is cut off. Callers who tried to reach me says that they only hear clicks and their message is cut short. The message length is set for four minutes. I only had this product less than a month. What I like about this product is that it gives you the time, day and date the messages are recieved. Other features I like are the security code, call screening and the remote functions with voice menu. In addition the price was reasonable and i liked the product's style design....

I have had this and one just like it for years. It works great. I love the caller ID announcer. The only thing I would change is that the cord be able to be plugged and unplugged from the unit instead of being "installed". Only because if it gets chewed on by a puppy or yanked out, you have to buy a new machine instead of plugging the cord back in. Otherwise, great machine for the price....

This machine would be perfect if it was able to announce the full date of a message (e.g. May 2, 2007) instead of only the day of the week (e.g. Wednesday). By announcing that a message was left on Monday, there is nothing on the machine which allows one to know the exact Monday of any week, month or year. Messages saved for more than one week therefore can become confusing as to their exact date. In all other respects, the machine is great. Slow playback option, listening to caller's voice during a recording, oral caller I.D., saved messages in the event of a power failure, easy instructions, remote access and simple message handling are some of all of the great features....

This is a fair to good answering machine as long as you don't expect too much. I've had mine for over a year but it has stopped working on occasion and I thought I'd have to go shopping but I unplugged it and when I plugged it in again it worked so it's still around. As far as sound quality, I have no complaints so as long as you don't expect much you won't be disappointed and cross your fingers that it doesn't stop functioning after the warranty expires. Keep your receipt!...
