I bought this weight bench after the holidays and got a great deal because it was a floor model. It needed a new cable so I was able to test Weider's customer service which was superb and easy to use. The bench is great for recreational weight lifting. You can do bench press, shoulder pulls, arm curls, leg curls and I'm sure a lot more. It doesn't take up a lot of space and that's a big plus. There are more elaborate systems out there but this one does enough to keep you motivated.
...

I bought the XP 300 so I could work out at home without a spotter. The Smith machine works fine and allows you to lift heavy in safety. It's great for bench presses, incline presses, decline presses, leg lifts and leg curls.

If you want to work out alone and at home this is an ideal system to use. A great value.
...

I purshased this machine few months back and waited til I used it for a while to write a review.
As for the assembly: I assembled about 90% of the machine by myself, and needed a second pair of hands for the rest. Assembly time was about 8 hours. I was impressed with the production, as all of the holes lined up perfectly, and all parts including hardware was present and accounted for. It requires delivery via freight truck, and comes in 5 boxes - 3 boxes for the weights and 2 large boxes for the parts.
As for the capabilities of the machine. The leg press is too light for any adult male unless you have complete chicken legs. The ergonomics of the bench press are not the greatest - at least if you are a man looking to bulk up. The preacher curl increases in resistance too quickly with each increment. Having said that, all of the attachments operate very smoothly. I'm personally quite satisfied with the ergonomics/resistance of the military press, lat pull and fly.
I didn't expect 'gym quality',......

ramone says "Great first weight set" about Exercera Weight Set, 100 lbs. Vinyl Barbell Set/Black Plates

At first I thought this would be like those old 1970's vinyl sets...It's not! The plates interlock to form a solid and secure barbell. The three piece bar is sufficient for the weight. It feels solid once you put it together. I dropped the full set loaded on the bar from curl height on concrete covered with carpet...And the vinyl did not crack. Not even much of a dent on the big plates. It'll work great for those who don't want a rusty set of iron out in the garage. I'd say it's very functional. Great value....

bodybuilder says "4 stars" about Cap Barbell Maxx Strength Combo Bench w/80 LB Weight Set

this weight bench is pretty good for the beginner.I got it for christmas 06-07 at 14.I saw good results from it,when i fisrt purchsed i could barely bech the 80lbs.In a few months it was nothing,of cousre i do use protein but i wasnt using it as much as i do now.I was quckly benching 115lbs by the end of the year i got it.

I would reccomend this to ages 13-14 and depending on how big you are 15.I do have a bigger bench now from marcy smith company which is a good brand and I would also reccomend. The clamps did bend pretty easy but are still usable, I just recently had problems with the 2 pins that hold the bar together because its a 2 piece bar coming out.If u put some tape on over the pinds u shouldnt have any trouble with that though.

For those of you who pinch your fingers i reccomned positioning your fingers just enough so you have some space not to pinch your fingers then use some delectrical tape to set marks to place your hands thats what i did, because i also pinched my fingers.......

This is a awesome buy for the money.PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN to the negative reviews. The only reason I give it 4 stars is beacause I just purchased it and put it together but, so far Im impressed. The install wasnt that bad exept I had to make the roll pin hole bigger but what product you buy you dont have to modify. This is a gym at home without going to a gym and spending thousands for a membership....

It is an excellent substitute to the hordes of people at our local gym. We've owned a Pro-Form treadmill for nearly a decade, so we figured we could not go wrong with this home gym. It is, surprisingly, extremely sturdy. We also picked up a couple 25lb. plates, because it didn't come with any and we already had 35lb. and 45lb. plates at home already. Post-installation, we were very pleased. Our only minor complaint is that the bar is a bit sticky at times when using the benchpress. Otherwise, it's a great well-rounded machine for someone who enjoys the convenience of a home multi-gym apparatus....
