rpiselli says "For 730 straight days ran 3 miles @ 6 MPH without fail -Reliable" about Proform proform

I purchased my first sears tread mill in 1989 and yes I still have it. I can't get a belt other than that it is in great shape. Several yrs ago I purchased a Pro-Form XP 550,s and I have found it to be reliable. For example for three straight years I ran every day , yes every day, for 3 miles @ 6 MPH without fail. I found the treadmill Reliable.

Lately after owning it for 4 yrs, it started to have a few problems that were not corrected becase of the lack of experience of the repairman. In due respect Sears has sent extremely qualified repairman that fixed it.

If you select this model I highly suggest that you either buy sears extended warranty's or buy the extended warranty's direct from the manufacturer at reduced cost and a repair person with factory's knowledge will be able to repair it. The manufacturer warranty's is less expensive and you buy it direct because Sears is not involved.
...

While some runners find the treadmill monotonuos, loging instead for the outdoors rather that an indoors machine, treadmill exercise can be a great benefit for runners & walkers, especially during winter months that can prohibit open-air runs. Because treadmill surfaces differ from pavement and concrate. Runners and joggers can use the treadmill without accounting for icy roads and harzardous weather conditions. In addition, treadmills are desingned specifically to incorparete cartian elements of trainning, such as inclines and speed intervals. Runners wishing to add these challenges to their routines can do so with the simple push of bu.ttom

Erlanger51 says "Be aware that proper assembly is crucial...." about NordicTrack A2750 PRO

Purchased a NordicTrack A2750 PRO at the Sears store in Lincoln Park, Michigan, on 1/23/2010. The floor model was sturdy, quiet, smooth and was an attractive-looking unit.

I was especially drawn to its ruggedness as I am 6'2" and weigh 246 lbs. The total purchase price (including $65 delivery and assembly by Sears) and the NordicTrack 5-year extended warranty was $1,340.

The boxed treadmill weighs about 250 lbs. so I figured $65 was a bargain for Sears to deliver it to my basement and assemble it.

After assembly, and while I watched, the Sears assembly team ran the treadmill through its incline calibration. During the incline calibration, I heard one "pop" and then there was a second, very loud "bang"... The upright storage latch knob was assembled incorrectly and it had sheared off.

The Sears technicians initially claimed this was a faulty part from NordicTrack. I looked at the assembly manual myself and pointed out that the latch knob was assembled facing the wrong direction....
...

Just got unit. Not impressed by floor sales. They did not know much and were unhelpful, good thing we knew ahead of time the information that we needed. The installer also obviously did not read the manual and gave me bad advice about operating the unit. Installers should re-read the manual cover to cover every month or so to keep current.

We will see how good the unit is over the next 90 days. It is louder than it should be. Ratings say that it is not durable enough for regualr running use.

Features are OK but I would rather want unit that is programmable using a PC computer. iFit is too limited and expensive. Not practical.

Display functions are very Basic.

We preferred the manual stiffness adjustment over the fixed versions.

Don't need or use speakers.
...

After reading the reviews I decided this was the treadmill for me. I was right! Pro's: it is very quite and easy on the knees. Love the fact you can hook your iPod up to it and inclines up to 10! Cons - Very heavy - one person can not lift. I can not move it when it is in the up position without help. Take the suggestion if you are not mechanically inclined to have Sears deliver it and assemble it. BUT if you are just take time to read the directions and you should be finished in approximately 1.5 hours. It does not come WITH the iFit card which the discription indicates it does. NO explanation of what the pre-programs do. BUT again these con's are minor and I love the machine!
...

fitlissa76 says "*sigh* Stopped working after 1 night" about ProForm XP 690T Treadmill

I love the feel of this treadmill, I like that I can plug in my MP3 player, not just an ipod, I like the length of the belt, and I like the big trays so I can set all kinds of stuff on either side while walking. The display is bright, and it's a very user friendly interface.

Unfortunately, my husband used it for a light 2 mile walk, and I used it for a 3 mile walk (I got it for my bad knee, to help rehab it) It had a good half hour to an hour between uses. I just went to use a day later & it no longer works. The display turns on, the volume display shows up & goes from 6 to 0, and then nothing. Nothing works. I can't get the **** thing to move. I can't get any button to work, I can't change the display, I can't work the incline. Nothing.

It's under warranty, since I just got it, and we also bought the extended warranty for another 3 years (which I'm glad of now if this is a sign of things to come)

We'll find out tomorrow how their response to this will be. If it's not satisfactory, or if...
...

I had this unit for over a month. My wife and I moved to a new home, built a workout area in the basement, and cancelled our gym membership.

Some quick points:

1.) Delivery is $65. Installation is $199. You will have to make two separate appointments. Make sure the delivery people put the box in the room you are going to want the unit set up. The install people will not move the unit (other than to take out of box and put together).

2.) I paid for the install. The tech put it together in 45 minutes and it works great. While I am technically inclined, I did not want to bothered. It looked as though installationwould have been a pain.

3.) You must get a single device surge protector for this unit!! (About 9 bucks, any hardware store). The unit has some quirky electrical surges at power up and this will help protect it. I believe those that have wrote reviews with consul problems probably had there unit zapped. The manual tells you to unplug the unit as well as turn...
...

Sears put the treadmill together. The first time I used it I heard a sound like a nut or bolt dropped onto something but the man told me that was impossible. Guess I must be hearing things. Will call Sears one more time but if I do't get satifaction this time then I will be returning the treadmill.
...

I brought my new pro-form treadmill as a way to work out at home. Since I have had it I just love it. It allows me to walk in home and watch my kids at the same time. Being a working mother makes it real hard to get time to work out and watch kids at the same time. Also, I'm able to work out with out having to leave my own home. The pro-form does not take up much space and that is also a plus seeing that my house ie real small and there is not much room for anything in this house. The pro-form folds up making it where I can fit it into a corner when I'm not using it, which works out very well for me as well.
...

The Weslo Cadence CT 5.8 is a great treadmill with 250 pound capacity. It goes 0-10 mph, not silent but certainly reliable! I bought it during the fitness promo on Shop Your Way Rewards.

There are four personal trainer programs, and for those of us who are beginners, you can just set the time and speed desired, and watch your progress. You could keep an exercise chart like they do in the gym, and you will see results. I started out at 2 minutes and worked up to 20 over a couple weeks. So anyone can use this machine~

I love the console key, the large display, and the sense of accomplishment!
...

My wife and I contemplated buying a treadmill for many months and after careful consideration of other brands, reading reviews and comparing prices it was time to head for our local Sears store to make our purchase.

We marched right into the fitness department with NordicTrack on our minds. The more expensive models were what I had in mind until the wife and I came across the NordicTrack model T5 zi. On sale for a reasonable Sears price of $599.99, I also found the same machine at NordicTrack direct with a closeout price of $30.00 more. After looking at a few display models we were politely greeted by a young man who asked if we needed help so we explained our need.

I test drove a few models and we decided on the T5 zi model because it fit our budget and had features we wanted. I brought the machine home in my truck and quickly distributed the well packed components in my living room. Although the assembly process took a couple hours, it was not difficult for me (I have tools). The...
...

This treadmill is solid - weighing 300lbs, it is very stable while running, and quiet as well. It has 6 programs which are great for the serious runner, and motion activated speed controls which are perfect for adjusting speed without losing stride. The major selling point for this treadmill is the warranty and service. Mine got some cosmetic damage in shipping (thank you Demar Logistics). Smooth Fitness was easy to contact, and had a replacement part on the way the next day - no charge.

We bought this treadmil as a 2009 family Christmas present. After using it for a month we all agree that it is great! We had been given a used treadmill before but it died. So we started reading reviews to find a replacement.

Some reviews of other models listed the ease of assembly as a concern. That turned out to be no problem with the Crosswalk Sport. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Everything was included and most of the hardware was attached to a piece of cardboard with each piece clearly marked. It took two of us about an hour to put it all together. There were only a couple of times when two people were actually needed and that was just to turn the whole thing over. If you can turn a screwdriver, you can assemble this treadmill.

This model is a space saver design and it easily folds up. We were concerned that it would take over the room we had planned for it but that was not the case. It is also very quiet and you cannot even hear it in the...
...

I like the overall quiet nature of this machine. It looks and feels very durable. Assembly was relatively straight forward, however, I missed an updated bolt improvement and had to backtrack a bit on some steps. My biggest negative on this machine is with Nordic Track's advertising which was in my estimation misleading. It advertises great features in what it can do through the ifit live wifi module, such as being able to run google map courses and race friends via this web feature wifi device. I understood that the wifi insert device was a separate purchase. But what wasn't spelled out, and I think should've been spelled out was that in order to make it work you have to commit to paying an annual $120 subscription fee to ifit live. Unfortunately, upon that sad discovery this cool feature will now not be able to be used at all by this customer. So beware of getting your enthusiasm up for the ifit live feature, unless you are prepared to pay this annual fee each year....
...

I was excited to get our new treadmill for a great price. I noticed that the heart/pulse monitor was wildly inaccurate. I could live with that for the price. What shocked me was the machine malfunctioning on the second day. I was doing preset 1. Halfway through the program, I lowered the intensity. Five minutes later, I upped the intensity. In five minutes, I lowered the intensity. Instead, the machine increased the intensity. I quickly hit lower once again, but it increased again! I fell off. The machine was still running, so I figured that maybe I hit the wrong button. While off the machine, I tried to lower the intensity... but it was not lowering it. I am wondering if it will repeat the scenerio. This could be a dangerous situation for an older person (which I am). Very disappointed. I will try to see if it happens again, but I will do it from the side and not on the machine.
...

My wife and I purchased the Proform XP Trainer 580 in Feb 09. We used it for 10 months without issue...Except that it contained two left cup holders (no right) and when we called Icon fitness they sent the wrong replacement part...twice. We ended up getting the replacement part from the floor model at Sears. My son was running on the treadmill on Nov 30, 2009 when the walking belt stopped abruptly causing him to fall and injure himself. After some investigation I found that the drive motor had separated from the motor mount causing the drive belt to slip off which resulted in the walking belt stopping abruptly. When the walking belt stopped my son didn't....he ran into the cross bar which in turn caused him to fall on his back resulting in minor injuries. It appears that tension on the drive belt was so great the stress of my son running on the treadmill caused one of the two motor mount bolts to shear off. I made repairs, but since then the motor has now stopped...
...

olsaaronc says "Great/sturdy treadmill, HEAVY, wish it came with iFit module." about ProForm XP 690T Treadmill

First, this unit is heavy. Both my friend that helped me and I looked at each other with disbelief when we were unloading it. It was a battle getting it the 12 feet from the street to the house. We then had to take it through the house, and halfway out the back door to get it down basement steps. The box is very long, and is taller than most standard seven foot household doorways. Moving it was the hardest part of the adventure. After we got it unpacked according to the instructions on outside of box, I separated all of the hardware into groups. You do get one extra of all screws and washers, because let's face it, accidents happen. I have read reviews about a lot of treadmills taking a long time to assemble. It took maybe just over an hour, but we were very thorough. I recommend tightening the screws/bolts as best you can with the included Allen wrenches, and then when completely assembled, going over all of the screws/bolts again with a ratchet and Allen bits, tightening...
...

catfishsew says "Experienced rough beginning, but we like it now" about NordicTrack T5 zi Treadmill

My husband and I both work. We have different hours, yet have to share one car. We were finding using our Y membership difficult to work into our schedule, so we decided to buy a treadmill to use at home.

I am giving this treadmill a neutral rating for now. Now that we have had a chance to use it a little, we like it so far. But we've experienced some negatives and I just wanted to share our experience and hints so far.

Some things to be aware of before you buy - The manual says to plug the treadmill into a surge protector, so you will need to buy a single-outlet surge protector with a light that indicates that there is power to the surger protector. I assumed, since this is an iFit compatible treadmill, that it would come with at least one beginner iFit card for trying out the iFit system. It doesn't. Chances are, you won't need to get into the motor area, but if you do, you might need to buy an especially long phillips-head screwdriver. The manual suggests a 5-inch shaft.

First issue, like...
...

MJinMI says "missing part in shipping box, part not even in stock" about NordicTrack Treadmill, A2550

First off - this thing is absurdly heavy so you will need two very strong people to move it up or down a flight ot stairs. If you can still get delivery and setup service for $65 from Sears, is worth every penny.

Once this backbreaking task was completed, I opened the box to discover a key part was missing from the box. Called the NordicTrack customer care center, they don't even have the part in stock!

I can understand if a part being missing now and then when they ship - but to not even bother to keep key replacement parts in stock? Now I have to wait for weeks for this part to arrive, with this thing half-assembled.

Wish I had gone with a different brand with a better reputation for customer support.
...
