Greggory says "Why did I wait this long to purchase this time saver" about Craftsman 22 in. Hedge Trimmer

I purchased this hedge trimmer after one of my neighbors forced me to use his trimmer. I was always used to using the hedge shears to trim my hedges. Well, this red devil cuts down my trimming time down to 1/3 of the manual shears and improves the outcome. I have not had any issues with the trimmer but had to read the directions to understand the trigger lock. The reason I picked this trimmer over the others was lock-on switch (trigger lock), large blade, bigger motor, and cord retention. Yes, I would purchase this trimmer again.
...

YardworkingJoe says "Junk...only stays running at full throttle" about Craftsman 19 in. Hedge Trimmer

Don't bother...go get a quality electric one instead. I am usually a faithful Craftsman buyer of gas powered toys but this thing has been absolute junk since the day I bought it, which was several years ago so I obviously cannot return it. It is hard to start and when it finally does start, it only stays running at full throttle which I find to be rather dangerous. Take your finger off the throttle and it will stall. When it does run (at full throttle), it has power and cuts any hedge you throw at it, but I finally gave up and threw it out. I tried tinkering with the carb, but I couldn't get it running right and will soon try an electric model. I think that 2 cycle gas engines this small tend to be quirky. Maybe the local guy who goes through trash on our street on trash day can fix it...
...

hang42 says "Great cutter, easy use and simple operation" about Craftsman 17 In. 2.7 Amps Extended Reach Hedge Trimmer

Craftsman 17 In. 2.7 Amps Extended Reach Hedge Trimmer I bought this trimmer this afternoon and put it to work on forty feet of hedges, 1 bush and a hundred and fifty feet of running vines. An hour later I was done and all the vines were removed from my fence, like cutting butter and not a single snag. Then I attacked the wild roses at the back of the yard and if not for the extended handle I would have had a slew of scratches from the thorns. By changing the angle of the handle I was able to remove the roses at ground level. When I was finished most of the yard was finished. I was able to cut upto one half inch branches. I had 2 of the black and decker hedge hogs and I managed to destroy them in a couple of days so this stood up to some abuse and did a great job. It went together in about five seconds or so.
...

My husband and I bought this product alittle while back, and we are more then satisfied with it's performance and ease of use.
bryduck says "Cuts like a champ!" about Craftsman 79957 Hedge Trimmer

The Craftsman 79957 hedge trimmer is a delight to use. I was clipping vines, branches, grass, and of course, hedges, 5 minutes after taking the trimmer out of the box. This is the first trimmer I have ever used, and I was swinging this thing around like a madman, with no problems whatsoever. Nothing could have been simpler.
The one issue I might call attention to was the fairly short power cable, but since anyone using this would be using extensions anyway, that is a minor quibble. It is also possible some might find this unit heavy, but I am pretty sure that at under 8 pounds it is not any heavier than any other trimmers out there. In fact, given that this is a corded electric, no batteries or internal combustion engines are attached, so it is probably lighter than most types of hedge trimmers.
I found this model through Consumer Reports, who made it their top choice for corded electric trimmers, and I can see why. I do not know if this model has been superseded by any others, but just......

RMann603 says "Batteries don't hold charge ,and cutting blades are slow" about Black & Decker Hedge Hog Trimmer

I though going electric and cordless was the best way to save . not only my time but a buck here and there on gas, that was I went and bought a B&D Hedge Hog . remembering how well my 18V Bosch Drill performed for more that 6yrs.

Now let get back to the Hog.

Day 1. After charging both batteries for the recommended 24hrs.My Hog ate up first battery in less than 24 minutes and gobbled the second battery in about the same amount of time. Well I figured I didn't leave them charging long enough so back on the charger they went. So I figured I get the shrubs picked and cleaned up.noticing that the trimmings where more of a break and tear then a nice clean cut.Not a problem I'll give a touch up tomorrow when the batteries are fully charged.

Day 2 After another 26 hrs . I removed my batteries and just to be sure I got out my volt meter and took a reading. They where charged 20.8 DCV. Needless to say my Hog ran slower then the before and ate up the batteries just as quickly. What more can...
...
