I was a bit disappointed in this model. I have had a Ryobi for 10 years and was very pleased with it. I could not find another Ryobi when Mine quit so I (as always) looked at Sears models. They have the same attachments (that seem to be better than Ryobi models) I purchased this unit and the first time I used it the shaft locked up and stripped the spline. I took it back and they replaced it with another - I was happy again. My new one has had the same problem. I will be replacing it when it quits with a different brand. The problem is that I have spent a great deal of money for all the attachments. I am not happy with the line configuration on this unit either . it takes short lengths of line , no bump to advance line, you must replace the line and there is always about 6 inches of line that does not get used.

Not a real effecient or convenient to replace the line in the whacker part of this unit.

I will not buy another like this one.

We stumbled upon this tree pruner by accident at our local Sears -- we weren't looking for one, but when we saw it we thought "maybe this can help trim a frew branches back". Did it ever! Within the first weekend of buying it we went "tree crazy" and really trimmed the yard up.

The #1 thing I like about this, and what convinced us to buy it there on the spot, was that its covered by the lifetime Craftsman warranty. If it breaks or fails to perform in any way, just take it back to Sears and they will replace it -- no questions asked.

Now onto its performance...

You should know this will take a little time to get used to. I think most of the negative reviews on here were from people who thought they could master it within 30 minutes of taking it out of the packaging. Because it extends to such a long length, you really have to learn how to balance this thing. It will take a good hour or two before you master it.

The Remington 10" electric pole-saw is well worth the money I spent for it. I have eight large trees on my property and had plenty of trimming to do. The saw cut large branches faster and easier than I had anticipated. I had purchased a larger gas chain for cutting the large branches for fire wood. I was able to accomplish all my cutting needs with the Remington and now have the option of returning the gas chain saw. The chain tension was tight out of the box and stayed tight even after a day's worth of cutting. My only negative comment would be that the chain oiler stopped working. I used a separate can oiler to keep the chain lubed while cutting.

I love having beautiful flowers in my yard, but I barely have time to water them let alone fertilize every 3 weeks. This product is great. A week or more after planting my annuals I sprinkle the Miracle Grow Shake'n Feed on my flowers and plants (I wait a week or so before fertilizing because I hear it's better for the roots). I even use this stuff on my roses and perennials. I think a more routine liquid fertilizer regime or natural fertilizer if you are an organic gardener may be better, but if you are strapped for time this is a very good alternative. I've used this product for the past few years and haven't been disappointed with the results.

Now if I can only find an effective product to control the weeds...

I bought a 32CC Convertible Weedwacker last year and was happy with it until this year when I started adding attachments for it. I have bought an edger and recently I bought a blower. I am in the lawn care business so I swap my attachments frequently. So much that it now appears the main head is spread where the attachment connects and fails to turn (drive) the attachment. I have used pliers to "pinch" it back and have got the weedwacker to work but cannot get the blower attachment to work. It sort of takes the meaning out of convertible. Any suggestions on how to fix this so I do not have to buy a new power head to work with the attachments?

After more than 10 years of service our trusty Craftsman weed eater finally decided to call it a day. We went to Sears to see what they had and was surprised by the number of choices -- weed eaters have every option you can think of nowadays!

What drew us to this one was the fact it has the Incredi-Pull technology. This is the easiest thing to start I've ever owned! It makes our old one look like a medieval device! You literally prime it and pull -- it starts with almost no resistance whatsoever.

We also liked the face that it had a detachable boom so you can add "Accessories" if you wish. We haven't added any, but they have a full range -- from tiller to snow blower. It's great that you can buy one tool and get so many "extra possibilities" as it were.

Finally, what we really like is the performance. It uses a new type of line where you don't have to feed it a spool -- just insert a new "segment" of line. The line itself comes pre-cut and lasts a long time. In fact...

Faultless Garden Claw I love my claw. It has cut my gardening and weeding time in more than less the time. I have found it works best after rain or watering. If you want to use after a very dry period, this may not be the product for you. Again, I suggest you use it after watering or a rain. The product stands-up well to weather. Mine was left out more than once when a rain strom came up quickly, which happens more often than not in Florida. I think I have covered all the aspects of the product.

Fiskars Bypass Pruner I am 65 yr old woman on disability. I have alot of prunning to do in my yard. Much of the prunning is of larger branches. I need a ratchet type prunner. I would like to see more of those in the Sears garden products. This particular product is fine for small branches, but I do not have the strength or time to use a prunner that is not of the ratchet type. This might be fine for a healthy, strong man, not for me or many other women. It is a good product as are most Sears products.

Craftsman Edger, 500 Series Briggs and Stratton, product model number 536.772360, gross torque 5.00ft. lbs., displacement 9.67 cu. in. (158.6cc), gasoline capacity is 1 quart, oil capacity is 20 oz. of SAE-30W, with a 9 inch blade, alright!!!!! Definitely powerful, I was able to edge my lawn (which was not bad), the church across the street (which was horribly over grown) in about 15 minutes. It was so easy. This machine is very powerful and not for the timid. It was basically assembled out of the box (be careful not to lose the hair pins for the height adjuster because they are small) so it took literally 2 minutes to set it up and another 2 minutes to add the oil and gas, I was edging in 5 minutes and done with 2 huge sized lawn in 15 minutes. I also have the hand held edger and if I was using that I would still be trying to convince myself to get it out of the garage. I found this baby at the Sears Hardware right down the street on sale for $229.99. So worth it. You will...

My dad is really hard to buy for - he's a simple guy with simple taste. He likes to do the typical "dad" things like golf and work in the yard, but he's the kind of guy that actually wears the free windbreakers they give him at golf tournaments, instead of going out and buying the wind repel-water repel-sweat wicking-lowers-your-score-by-at-least-5-strokes kind of jacket. So buying him gifts is hard.

That is, until I got him started on the Craftsman Line Trimmer series with detachable heads. I started out easy with just the gas powered line trimmer for Father's Day 2005, and at first, it didn't seem like a particular success. The thing sat in a box until late in the 2007 season. I think guilt made him finally take it out of the box, but he hasn't looked back since then, and I've kept adding to that same base tool at each holiday! I really appreciate the Craftsman "convertible" series of Weed Eaters.

What a great concept: One engine for many applications.

My Craftsman Weed Eater, is also a Brush Wacker, a Pole Chainsaw, a blower and could be: a pole Hedge Trimmer, Rotary Trimming tool, edge, and Mini-Cultivator.

All this with just ONE Maintenance Protection Agreement, on the engine part of the machine.

What a fantastic value!

Look for the little red know, toward the center of the Eater's shaft.

This guy helps my wife and I maintain a 1-1/2 acre property.

Just three more months before fire season is upon us, again.

this is a good product But Raid works best up close, and not too good for distance. it is a good value for the money (and even better on sale). But it is messy to clean up and the smell is bad and ligers too long. the fragrant one is worse. The best one is the one with the roach egg killer, that kills the eggs in the pregnant ones as well even after she lays the eggs. It is easy to use especially the one with the tube extender but that can get messy too. Be Carefull around any type of pet as it can cause seriouse respertory infections and even death....

One of the realities of a family farm is the fact that you need to have STURDY, reliable, and multi-use equipment - and this 4 Cycle Gas Trimmer does the trick.

It worked well in all the situations I used it -- from trimming grasses/crops along the fence line -- to the use of the Brushcutter attachment to take care of the horrendous amounts of woody shrubs/trees that also compound the situation with HUGE fence lines, behind/around the barn, in Horse Turn-outs, and by the Farm Equipment Storage areas.

I used this extensively for several weeks after 1st purchasing (believe me -- the Shoulder Harness comes in mighty handy -- it does get to be a burden after about the 1st hour of use) .. but it ran like a champ.

I would suggest that you NOT purchase the already cut to the correct size weed-wacking strings -- get the LARGEST package of reel and cut it yourself. Within an hour -- I used up approximately 4-5 pairs of weed-wacking strings (and this was the thickest sizes) -- so you can see that...

The Craftsman 4 cycle trimmer (79197) is a beast of a machine, putting out torque I've never seen in a trimmer, but then again, all my life I used 2-cycle trimmers. I also use the brushcutter attachment on it, and it takes a lot of brush and weeds to slow down this trimmer. It takes down the brush in my backyard easily....

This is absolutley one of the best purchases I have ever made. The Mantis tiller easy to start, easy to handle, easy to carry and easy to clean up but it really packs a punch. I have had mine for 4 years and have never had a problem with it....

I really like the Aero Garden but the kit came with some chives and other things to grow. WEll I did as it asked and I filled it with water and kept the level as it suggested when it suggested and used the food it came with. but I used all 6 pods and I only got 3 stems of chives. the other things did not grow. I was disapointed. But I did take some Watercress from the market and it had the roots on it. I cut off the cress and divided the roots and I put them in the pods and placed in the Aero Garden. I was able to regrow watercress. It was good and it was a surprise. problem is it would only grow for one cuttings. I need to replace the roots....

I bought Talstar to deal with molecrickets, cockroaches, spiders and all other bugs I don't know the name of. Easy to use ( from supervisor's point of view- my husband did it ). I feel much safer letting my daughter play in the yard.

This can be use indoor and outdoor, and the label claims it can also be used against termites ( I do not know that for a fact though , sure hope it is )-however I do not have a termite problem.
