I had this Craftsman LTS 42" deck lawn tractor delivered to my home, also bought the bagger attachment. It won't run with the baggers on half the time, when I can get it to run at all. The grass clippings blow out from under the bagger lid all over my back, when I have been able to use this lawn tractor. The owners manual is poorly written, also. I have done everything the manual has instructed to operate this machine and still have problems. Since I've had this mower it has failed to run when the brake is released, and appears to have a defective part in the throttle adjustment plate. Now I have had warranty service rescheduled 2 days in a row. Now I can't use the mower at all because it won't run and I am very unhappy with the quality of this product and the repair service I should be getting under the warranty
...

We bought a Craftsman ZTS 6000 Zero-Turn Rear Engine mower in June. After mowing our acre lawn three times, it sputtered to a stop during the fourth mowing. After letting it sit for ten minutes, it started, but only ran for less than a minute before stopping again. After waiting a week, the repairman came out, only to tell me it was probably because "I" had the throttle lever in choke (which I didn't). After he left, I mowed the lawn. Two weeks later, I got five minutes into the lawn and it did the same thing. The repairman came out and said the choke was probably stuck and/or the transmission release levers weren't pushed far enough forward. This afternoon, I began mowing, only to have the mower stop again after three minutes. Now it won't start and it's in the front part of my yard and too heavy for me to push to the garage. After talking to repair, they said they couldn't come out until next Wednesday (six days). My lawn hasn't been mowed in three weeks and Sears...
...

Lucy477 says "Craftsman lawn tractor: I recommend it to my female frients." about Craftsman 42 in. Deluxe Lawn Tractor

I really like the Craftsman 21hp 42in deck 6 speed lawn tractor. I also purchased the two bag assembly with the flexible sides. I liked the flexible sides versus the hard for more air flow. It only took me 15 minutes to put the bagger attachment on and I was picking up all our fall leaves. It worked well even with wet leaves and grass which is a plus because it's been raining here for the last two weeks.

I also purchased the snowblower attachement for the front end, but I'll review that later as I haven't had the chance to use it yet (thank goodness!!). I also made sure I bought the craftsman lawn tractor with the cast iron axle as it is the most solid for heavy duty work with the snowblower.

Overall, it drives nice, has a very good turn radius, and is very easy to use. I would recommend it to all my female friends. But I will admit, I will have my husband assemble the snow plow attachement as there are there are over 64 steps for assembling it.
...

I purchased the Craftsman YT4000 Yard Tractor with the snowblade (plow) attachment. The tractor exceeds all my expectations. Operation of the tractor is simple, has plenty of power and is easy to handle. The fit and finish is flawless. The delivery service was the best that I ever experienced. They called to ask if I wanted delivery earlier than scheduled. They showed up 1 hour early (called first). After being told by sales associates that I would have to assemble the plow blade, I was surprised that the plow blade was not only assembled, but also installed on the tractor.

We have always enjoyed Sears products because of their quality and their excellent customer/delivery service. I feel that the Craftsman YT4000 Yard Tractor was a correct choice.....Thanks Sears!
...

barnman says "The DYT 4000 lawn mower is the toughest mower I have owned" about craftsman DYT 4000

I have put 300 hours on the Craftsman DYT 4000 lawn tractor with out any issues. On 9/21/09 we had some major flooding in Georgia this lawn tractor was completely submerged in water for 2 days. I finally was able to get to it and pull it out of the water. I have changed the oil and filter along with the air filter pulled the spark plug and dried it out. I replaced only the oil, the way the gas tank and line is run I did not have to drain and change the gas. After replacing this items the DYT4000 fired up and ran like new and every thing works on the mower no damage to the electrical system. I have purchased several lawn tractors in the past but this has been the most durable mower I have owned. If you can leave this mower under water for two days and and only have to change the oil and filters that's tough.
...

This mower is probably more than I need, but I could not pass it up due to the price. Let's just say I paid a good bit less than the "sale" price online. It's worth waiting until the end of the season. Great even cutting- 4 guage wheels are better than 2; hydrostatic is definelty the way to go- fairly smooth. A few things I've noticed- once in forward motion then moved to neutral it tends to drift forward. Will need to get used to NOT mowing in reverse- although it is capable. Cut my mowing time by ~30% from previous rider (32" single blade). Came with mulching blade, but no plate for deck! This has created problems. Initial issues: Dented hood was replaced as requested (Thank you Sears), but was attached incorrectly. Also, the belt for the blade engagement needed major adjusting. Did it myself- not too happy- thus the 4 out of 5. Uses less gas than anticipated. Still need a bagger (too much $$) and perhaps a plow & cart next year. Overall- recommended!
...

I researched online and in stores to help me decided which riding lawn tractor I needed to purchase because I have never owned nor operated one. I purchase my Craftsman LT2000 July 31, 2009 and had it delivered Aug. 4th.

I started the engine and performed the transmission purge and then did a test cut of my back lawn. The tractor was easy to operate. You really don't need the left brake/clutch pedal because the hydrostatic drive transmission lever control gives you full control over speed and forward/reverse direction. After correctly adjusting the front gauge wheels it was almost impossible to scalp the lawn.

My wife also found this tractor very easy to operate. I haven't had any issues with this tractor and don't expect any. The value is very good and the quality is even better. I expect this tractor to last me many years with good maintenance. I purchased the mulch kit (33742) and installed it myself. This kit works really well. I don't have to bag lawn clippings...
...

The Craftsman YT 3000 21 HP 42" Yard Tractor is a terrific machine.

I really love this mower. Moved up from a 15.5hp Craftsman that lasted me 13 years and the performance difference is like day and night.

Hit me all of a sudden, my old mower bit the dust and I was told it would cost $450 to repair. As old as it was I decided it was smarter to spend that money on a new one instead. Did alot of research and driving around in one week, and found this one at a small Sears shop in Hadley, Ma. on rte 9. Really nice couple work there. This mower had one week use on it and I was told the owner brought it back to upgrade to the next model up. Got this on for under $1,100, about $700 off MSRP and $300 off the sale price. Figured it was a bargain and worth a shot.

The only complaints I have is that the seat is really slippery, and when going up and down slopes there is a drastic difference in speed with the Hydrostatic transmission as compared to my old 6 speed manual transmission...
...

Craftsman YT 4000 24HP 46" Yard Tractor. Update. I have had this tractor for nearly three months now and am still uterly impressed with its capability and quality. It will mow going up 45 degree slpes without absolutely any change in rpm which means the deck blades are are turning just as fast as they were on the level. The cut quality still matches that of my $700 which I still use to trim where the tractor can't.

Inearly purchased the 21hp version and I'm in no way trashing that tractor. Iwent with the 24hp because I plan to plow snow and wanted the extra torque of a twin. For $200 more I got aV-twin with it's extra torque and hwat should be longer life plus 3 more hp. I'll update once I do some plowing this winter and see if I'm still as impressed.
...

I had a riding lawn mower for 10 years, and it finally wore out. Thru all the debates and then deciding to stay with the Sears product, came the decision of which one. I finally went with the LT2000 42" . Couldn't wait to get it off the trailer. Right from the start, after all the before preps. FINALLY, I get to set in the seat. And away we go....Quiet, smooth, (for a lawn mower) nice engagement of the mower blades, and then the final set, TAKE OFF! This was so nice, first one gear, then the next, then the next, until I found the perfect speed to cut the lawn. This was so easy and fast, I cut 3/4 of an hour off of my mowing time. I love this machine and wish the grass would grow faster so I could use it again.

I decided on the LT2000 42" 19 hp and am the happiest guy in the neighborhood. We looked at alot of the different models and we are happy we chose this one

One of the deciding factors was the low cost of the machine and the accessorises, compared to other dealers and Brands.
......

My brand new lawn tractor suffered a major stroke and died just prior to Memorial Day. I called the My Home number on the receipt and talked to a very nice young lady who told me due to the large number of calls in our area, I would have have to wait until June 8 before a repairman could make it to the house. So I toddled out my old craftsman push mower, put gas in it and lo it started right up as usual and I mowed the yard the old way. On Jun 7 I received a call from Sears reminding me that the repairman would be at my home the next day and sure nough there he came. He inspected the mower, discovered that a factory malfuntion (a piece of metal had actually broken holding the blade engagement lever)had occurred and said he had to order the part which he did right there on his puter in the truck. He said the part would be delivered to my house by the following Monday and he would return to repair it. Thus I troddled out my old craftsman and mowed the lawn again. The following...
...

I finally gave in and admitted that it was time to look at lawn tractors. I had mowed my 3/4 acre lawn with a self-propelled mower for years, but this year I had enough. As a woman, I have to admit that I was a bit intimidated by using a tractor on my hills and around all my garden beds. I spent several weeks reading reviews from consumers and test-driving riding mowers at several different stores. I had a budget and several brands were available in my price range, but the Craftsman YT3000 series kept coming out on top. My tractor arrived yesterday and after a quick tour of the buttons, levers and manual, I set off to mow a three-week long lawn with my newly installed mulching kit. The tractor went right up my hills without a problem and the tight turning radius allowed me to get very close to all of my beds. I actually mowed over the area twice to get everything mulched to my satisfaction, but did two cuts in less than half the time it used to take me to push my other mower. My lawn...
...

<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">I purchased the Craftsman GT 5000 26 HP/54" Garden Tractor while it was on sale and offered a 10% mail in discount. I had done research on this model and concluded that the Craftsman GT 5000 26 HP/54" Garden Tractor was the best tractor available for the price. I mow over two acres and maintain a total of 7.5 acres with this tractor. I prefer the gear shift over the hydrostatic drive models because the gear driven tractor produces more power to the wheels. Another important note is the hydrostatic drive tractors may overheat while under heavy loads and damage the hydrostatic transmission. (The Hydrostatic Xmi$$ion is “Maintenance Free” therefore to repair you must replace). All the GT 5000 Garden Tractors have an extremely tight turning radius. This allows you to cut around large trees with one turn along as you are turning at a reasonable speed. If not, the front wheels will plow straight ahead. The driver’s seat has armrests, which should always......

biloxilion says "Hard working lawn tractor" about Craftsman LT-2000

I am in my 70's and don't want to walk behind a mower... even self propelled. I was at the Sears store and saw the small Craftsman, LT-2000 riding mower with a 42" deck and bought it. I have a fairly large lot, about 200x200 and this mower gets around my shrubs, house, etc with ease. The 42" deck and 17.5 hp Briggs engine make easy work of mowing now.

I have only had one small problem since I got it. I noticed it was not cutting evenly, with one side being lower. After looking further, I found a cotter pin had fallen out and the rod was not holding the deck in place. New cotter key, deck level.

I have another home in Alabama that has about 6 acres, all landscaped. I took this mower up there and it did the job but did seem a little strained as it took about 4 hours. I used the mower for a year up there and this year bought a new mower just to leave there. The new one is a 54" deck yard tractor. I will give a review on that one later.

All said an done, I am very pleased...
...

blacksmoke08 says "This mower cuts awesome but it breaks every time i use it." about Craftsman Professional 26 hp 52 in. Zero Turn Riding Mower

The very first time i mowed with this mower some wire on the starter shorted out. When i was lookin at that i also noticed that the fans on top of the drive pulleys were broke off. I called sears service dept and talked to the rudest know it all lady you could ever meet. Two weeks later the sears guy can out and fixed the wire and ordered the fans for no cost under warranty. When i got the fans they were the wrong ones i sent them back and still havent got the right ones. It throwns the belt about every fifth or sixth time i engange the blades. Im pretty disapointed about having to work on it constantly. But when this mower isnt broke it cuts great tons of power moves really fast. The quality of cut is way better than my Husq. but ive never had to work on it.
...

rbirge says "Powerful and manuverable but poor mulching capability" about Craftsman 26 HP 52 in Zero Turn Tractor

Review of Craftsman 26 HP 52 in Zero Turn Tractor (Model 28992

This is a well-built system that is made for Sears by Simplicity. The hydrostatics are a bit sloppy, but that is standard for the non-professional zero-turn mowers. The 52" three-blade system cuts very well, and provides a very even nice looking cut. The blades that are supplied are not mulching blades and Sears does not sell mulching blades for this model. Sears does sell a Mulching kit which works, more or less, but the system does not do as good a job of mulching as it could if the blades were designed properly.

The best feature of this system is the excellent power provided by the 26 HP engine, which is more than adequate to handle the cutting deck as well as motion. Speed is excellent. The mower is solid and well made and the starting system is reliable. The model I have has the Briggs and Stratton engine, and this is an excellent twin cylinder engine that is well made and reliable. While not as good...
...

Sears Craftsman Tractor 917.288220 it is a 2008 riding mower Model 4500 and it runs great and does a good job. The only problem is getting tune up parts Sears can not find a record of my tractor or any parts for it from spark plug to tune up kit they can't even tell me what filters it requires. It has a Briggs & Stratton 20 HP motor and they do not offer that size motor this year. I bought the extended warranty when I bought it and I am concerned if they will be able to get parts if it breaks down....

This 27 HP Craftsman Professional garden tractor was bought to replace a 10 year old 36" riding mower that had finally given up the ghost (transmission died).

What a revelation! It's got gobs of power and is very comfortable thanks to the automobile style adjustable seat and roomy operator position. All controls are conveniently located and super easy to use. I especially appreciate the electrically operated mower deck height function and the cruise control. The deck wash-out port makes clean-up a breeze. The 54" deck has taken some getting used to because of its width but I can now mow our 1 acre lawn/meadow in half the time.

The list price is reasonable considering the power and versatility of this tractor. It's a good compromise if you (like me) have considered purchasing a Compact Utility Tractor but can't quite justify the expense of one. With all the avaialble accessories, you'll be able to accomplish quite a bit at a third to a quarter of the price....
