THE MODEL I GOT FROM SEARS WAS AND IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK , THAT I HAS TO PAID FOR, THE FIRST TIME I USED THE MOWER IT BROKE AND IT TOOK TWO WEEKS FOR THEM TO COME FIX IT, AFTER SEARS MAILED ME THE PART FOR THE REPAIR MAN, COME TO FOUND OUT IT WAS THE WRONG PART, WHEN I TOLD THEM THE PART NUMBER FROM THE OPERATOR,S MANUAL, I HAD TO WAIT AGAIN. EVERY TIME I USE THE MOWER AFTER I HAD TO FIX SAMETHING ON IT CAUSE I CANNOT WAIT TWO TO FOUR WEEKS FOR THEM TO COME FIX IT. I BEEN OUT MORE MONEY GETTING THIS PIECE OF JUNK FIXED SPRING OF 2012 I WILL BUY A NEW AND A VERY GOOD LAWN MOWER AND IT WILL NOT COME FROM SEARS. I WOULD NOT TELL ANY ONE TO BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK..JUNK YARDS HAS BETTER LAWN MOWER .. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME... PAYER BEWARE....JUNK...

Gave up on my 2000 yardman zero turn. The briggs engine took on a mind of its own. Searched many hrs comparing models in the 1500.00 range. The best value is this model; even though it too has a briggs engine. However, this twin cylinder is a different animal with many new features. Started right up and runs incredibly quiet and smooth. I prefer a gear drive trans only because I tow a cyclone leaf rake attachment in the fall. The pictures of this 2012 show a maroon color, but it is actually the same red as years past. It was assembled correctly and shows signs of a quality machine. The YT series is actually a Husqvarna tractor made to craftman specs. Turning radius is comparable to my old zero turn. The tight turn spins right around in a hurry. Anything mechanical breaks; its just a matter of how often. I dont see that being a problem on this model. The manuals are very thorough, and include a parts schematic and belt change procedures. It doesn't leave anything out. It also spells out...

Not only do I work in the Lawn and Garden department at my sears store, I'm also a loyal user of Craftsman products. I own this tractor and deeply love it!!! I have around a two acre yard and it's amazing for my house!!!!! The new turn-right technology is insane!!! I couldn't believe how much time it cut done from my usual yard mowing amount. Which I wasn't too happy about seeing as this is my tanning time :). The speed this 24horsepower briggs motor has behind it is astounding!!! Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it to customers everyday!!!

this is one tuff tractor iv mowed with it,pulld my cart,and i use it alot for odd jobs.my first opinion was traction was terrible well last week i put chains and weights on it now its a tank i dont kno why its not a garden tractor the moter is amazing! i cant wait to get a front plow!also my mowing deck is on and so are the chains...if you put the deck 1 down from the top they WILL NOT HIT! im looking fwrd to a long time of useing my yt4000 best bang for the buck!

Breifly researched several zero turn mowers for a week and decided to take the Craftsman Zero Turn 42 mower as it was on sale for 2150.00 during the Martin Luther King weekend. Had to order it sight unseen as they didnt have a model and none in store. A week later it came in a crate to the store which required me with the assistance of the sears employees to unpack it, I read the manual and learned how to to free the rear tires to be able to push it up on my trailer. Once I got it home I followed the instructions and secured the seat, handles and battery as well as the shroud. Once that was done I fueled checked the oil and started it up. Runs great and gettiing used to the controls was quick. Looking around the internet I noticed it appeared to be the same model as the Troy Bilt Colt ZT 42" zero turn with a different engine. I'll take some of the recommemdations I read on the Troy Bilt website in regards to that machine. Well, I will review again in the following months to update any information...

This machine is fast.....Getting used to controls, is a little goofy, but you will get it under control.....\

Same mower as Cub Cadet and Troy Built, they are all made by MTD....

You will definitely want the muching kit, this thing sends stuff flying.......I bought the kit thru a cub cadet dealer and it fit perfectly......

I purchased this tractor last summer and decided to give it some time before I review it to give a better review.

It's been nearly 6 months since I've purchased it and it's been working great. I've had no issues whatsoever with the tractor and have used it many times since I've bought it. I was a little wary of buying a 42" tractor for just under $900 but it's been working great. I even purchased the Craftsman trailer cart and it's worked great as well. I still plan to buy the aerator and possibly the bagging unit. Some downsides are the fact that you can't turn off the headlights or it doesn't work in reverse. I plan to make a switch for the headlights, but it really should have one already.

It came down to either this or the Husquevarna unit for $1600 that was on sale. I'm glad I saved my money with this buy.

cannot add wieghts to tires. Must add wieght kit to back of tractor. Must remove weight kit to attach trailer

My yard is all down hill and must be mowed by going up and down the yard instead of across. The riding mower pulls up the yard with great power in high gear. Shifting to a lower gear to go down hill is very easy. I love mowing my yard now that I have a riding mower that is powerful enough to pull up hill with little effort. It takes me about 45 minutes to mow about 1 acre of grass.
