Breifly researched several zero turn mowers for a week and decided to take the Craftsman Zero Turn 42 mower as it was on sale for 2150.00 during the Martin Luther King weekend. Had to order it sight unseen as they didnt have a model and none in store. A week later it came in a crate to the store which required me with the assistance of the sears employees to unpack it, I read the manual and learned how to to free the rear tires to be able to push it up on my trailer. Once I got it home I followed the instructions and secured the seat, handles and battery as well as the shroud. Once that was done I fueled checked the oil and started it up. Runs great and gettiing used to the controls was quick. Looking around the internet I noticed it appeared to be the same model as the Troy Bilt Colt ZT 42" zero turn with a different engine. I'll take some of the recommemdations I read on the Troy Bilt website in regards to that machine. Well, I will review again in the following months to update any information...
...

This machine is fast.....Getting used to controls, is a little goofy, but you will get it under control.....\

Same mower as Cub Cadet and Troy Built, they are all made by MTD....

You will definitely want the muching kit, this thing sends stuff flying.......I bought the kit thru a cub cadet dealer and it fit perfectly......
...

I bought this to replace my Yard Machine riding mower that had been dying a slow death the past coulpe of years (it was 10 years old). This new Craftsman zero turn cut my time down from an hour and a half to 20 minutes! It is fast, and cuts in both forward and reverse, which is nice. Took a while to get used to steering it, but now it is easy. I like the controls, they are all simple to use. The only con with the mower is that the gas tank is black, and there is no gas guage. Oh, one other con: now that it only takes 20 minutes to mow my 1/2 acre, my wife now thinks I should knock more off of her 'honey do' list. :)
...

We bought a Craftsman 21 hp Zero Turn Riding Mower this last summer. We had a ********** zero turn before, and this mower is so much better than the deere. It sits higher so you have a clear view of the lawn. The automatic lift for cutting hight is so easy to use. We just love the clear grass shoot on the side makes it easy to stay on the mower to if grass is moving or if it is stopped up which it hasn't stopped up yet.
...

I had never used a zero turn mower, before. It's so easy to use and does the job. We needed it to mow around the barn and between paddocks. The fencing made it hard to use a regular riding mower and left a lot to be weed-eated. "Zippy the Zerotown" as the kids, in the barn, have named it, got almost everything.

Our area has had a very rainy summer so mowing has been tough. We' ve had to try to mow twice a week. To wait until it's dry, the grass has been growing, up to 6 inches in some places, and at times, there have been weeds, as well. This mower cut through everything. We are ordering a new belt, as the other one broke this weekend, but after mowing all summer, and doing a phenominal job, a $26 belt seems like a drop in the bucket for all the time we saved....

this being my first new mower ever,i researched this purchase very hard.i looked at the other manufactures, and husky came away the winner.i've been mowing 2 acres with a 1975 jd 400 with a 60" deck.great garden tractor, but un-maneuverable.took 2+hours,allong with all the problems of a 36 year old mower.it took about 5 minutes to get used to it,but after that all was good.you'll make some divits until your use to the ways of the zero turn.i wanted the mz6128 with the larger engine and fabricated deck, but couldn't swallow the extra 2000.overall am real pleased with my purchase.i now mow my lawn in around 50 minutes.
...

I have owned the 54 inch Husqvarna since April and have mowed my 5-6 acer yard every weekend. I have cut down on the mow time from about 6 hours to 2 and a half hours. I also do not have to complete as much trimming because of the ability to cut so close to objects. The folks at or Sears store were very helpful and even filled up the mower with gas.
...
