Pretty good bagger. I can't give 5 stars because 1 hour into using for the first time the rubber strap that holds the two piece shute together broke. I think its a good idea but for it to break first time out of the box sucks. I mow mine and my neighbors yard and together its about 2 acres of grass and a ton of leaves in the Fall The capacity is great so less stops to dump saves a lot of time. It empties very easy and quickly. It does have a little spinning gage on the shute that shows when the bags are full and it is just useless it doesn't spin full, empty with grass going up the shute or not, I think it just for looks. You just have to get off and check from time to time to get a good idea of when to stop and empty. Over all I like the unit Sometimes things just break its an easy fix with a zip tie.
...

This bagger does an exceptional job, especially with the premium mulching blades. Chops grass to extremely small pieces. The installation took approximately 10 minutes and is extremely easy to remove and reinstall. A product well worth the purchase price especially since the yards I mow have to be bagged....

This grass catcher didn't work too bad out of the box, however, I found that the bins would fall off if the cover released. I solved the problem by drilling a small hole in the cover latch and hooking a bungy cord through it. The cover now stays down and the bins don't fall off.
...

I have used Sears’s products (mowers) for years. But the design of this bagger and chute coming from mower deck has to be the worse design I’ve ever seen. First, the chute from the mower deck to bagger extends out too far from mower. You can’t go through a normal chain link fence gate with chute attached. Second, the chute is too long and poorly designed. Third, when attaching chute to mower deck it does not stay attached the way it is designed. Fourth, in order to empty the bags when full you have to raise seat up in order to open bagger lid. Fifth, the bagger lid is poorly designed it is too hard to open....

Although I didn't use it all the time, because I usually use mulching blades, it held up well this year. I noticed as others did the indicator doesn't start moving until the bags are full, funny oversight on the instructions. I actually like that this mostly plastic as this means less weight on the lawn. Definitely have to use with proper blades. I tried with mulching blades after grass got too long and the thing clogged up constantly, not enough discharge. Second time grass got to long I went back to the original blades and didn't have any problems. Similar moisture on the ground both times.
...

Extremely difficult to assemble - so many steps should have been done before it gets to customer. The hitch bracket kit could have been attached and would have saved me an hour's work, time which would have been much better used mowing.

After 5 hours, I finally started mowing and three times the Discharge Chute Elbow popped out of its socket before I had finished. Each time it got chewed up before I could switch off the blades. The final time the blades chewed up the Deck Mounting Pin(711-05049) So before I can mow again, I have to replace that or the discharge chute will not stay in place and there is no use in my having a bagger!

I like the bagger but for the price I had to put so much manual labor into it that I feel you owe me a day's wages. Why can't the manufacturer do the steps represented by Figures 21 and 22 (and so many others) that would make assembly so much more simple and less time consuming! Reading back over my Operators Manual simply riles me up again. The...
...

This bagger does a good job, would prefer to have hard nylon/plastic baggers. The problem with this bagger is the tractor seat is in the way when opening the top of the bagger, so the top/lid will not stay open and is this way with the seat all the forward. Might be able to tip the seat forward before opening the bagger lid....

The bagger fit my yard tractor well. I do not care for the fact that I must stop to empty the bagger more ofter that I estimated. (I know I can cut my grass more frequently or on a higher setting to lessen the filling of the bagger, but then it changes the time I spend cutting grass or the look of my lawn.) I do feel that the bagger is durable, light and easy to handle, and looks good on the back of the yard tractor. I am not saying that you should not purchase this bagger, I'm just saying that I would not recommend this bagger because it added more work to my yard days. Additional, I do not have a mulch bin set up yet, so I have to transfer the grass into plastic bags for the landfill. (For me this will soon change, but it is something else for a person to consider.)
...

I finally retired my 19.5HP 42" Crafstman mower after 15+ years. I purchased many attachments for it over the years and everyone of them seemed to be a half day project in the making.

This Spring I bought a YTH 2348 Husqvarna and put off buying the bagger for it until Autumn because I use it mainly to pick up leaves. I removed the two bolts per the instructions and installed the new ones. (not sure why you have to replace them although they are a tad longer) I then Installed the lid and bags and was wondering what I missed because the whole project only took 20 minutes. This was the easiest mower attachment I ever installed.

in response to another reviewer, the plastic handles to secure the lid are exactly like the one on my old mower and I replaced it once in 15 years because I caught a low hanging branch and broke it. The handle was easily obtained from Sears Parts. The only thing I replaced on a regular basis is the rubber strap holding the two peices of the chute together. After buying...
...

I ordered this at the same time as my tractor, so Sears installed it on the tractor before delivery. The first time I started to mow, the bagger chute broke off within 90 seconds- the elastic band broke. Annoying, but I called Sears and they were responsive and ended up replacing the whole thing (tractor/bagger- seemed kind of extreme for a broken elastic band, but okay).

After 5 weeks, I got the new tractor with a new bagger, and again, the bagger came installed by Sears. The first time I used this new one, the bagger broke AGAIN. This time the deck mounting pin bent after about 20 minutes and now it will no longer fit into the mounting hole.

I love my tractor, but I have a hatred that burns with a fiery passion for this bagger.

If it works this superb after a few seasons, then WOW it would be well worth it. I was amazed at all the leaves and grass it collected. The bags are mounted high so you don't have to bend over to remove or clean out. They also put a soft handle on bottom of bag so you can turn it over and dump it real easy. The soft bags are likely better than hard bags as the air flow thru them reduces the movement of collections and they fill the back in a compact way. So far, so good.

One other thing, I got the mulching kit which changes the side chute. I am not sure if I can mount the bagger while this mulching guard is in place....
