Picked these up my local store and had them on in about 20min. It does help to have a extra set of hands to put these on. I found the best way to put them on was to jack up the rearend and let the air out of the tires and then inflat after you have them on.
...

I just purchased these for winter to help with dozing the snow. I put them on last weekend, along with the dozer blade, and thought I would try it all out before the snow got here. The weights were extremely easy to install, and didn't know this before, but you can actually stack two weights on one wheel if needed. I was very satisfied with the quality, and the amount of weight it added to the mower. I'm glad I got them. The weights should be used in conjunction with the tire chains I believe, as I don't think the weights would be enough with just the traction of the tires alone...

This weight is a great value. I believe this wheel weight will fit most of the standard 12" lawn/garden wheels used since the 1960's with 5 lug bolts. I am uses it on a **********. Dont know if it will fit the newer wheels with 4 lug bolts.

This wheel weight was more versatile in application than the poor description available on the web site. It is well made and I expect to use it for a lifetime as long as the plastic cover is not cracked which will allow the cement inside to crack when it freezes. If it gets water inside and freezes it will eventually crack the outer case and the weight falls apart.
...

Had them installed in 10 minute and that included getting and putting away the tools. For the folks that had or are having issues installing the nuts in the back of the wheel, roll the tractor forward or backward to bring the holes to the bottom of the wheel. As far a shearing bolts, don't use a tool on installing the retaining studs. If they are too tight, once you get on the tractor, the tires will spread wider (your added weight) and the strain on the studs along with going over bumps can strip or shear the studs. They are only meant to hold the weight on, not support the tire pressure....

These weights are specific for 12" wheels. They installed easily. They look good too. I saw some other weights on a different tractor in the store and they looked 'very obvious'. These kinda blend in with the wheel. They seem to give the extra traction needed. Sears was great with the sale price PLUS the extra 10% for 'Family & Friends' which made the price SUPER.
...

mwearl says "Craftsman 30 lb wheel weights fit the YT4500 lawn tractor." about Craftsman 30 lb. Wheel Weights

The Craftsman 30 lb wheel weights part # 24434 fit the 8 inch wheels on the YT4500. I say this because the describtion does not mention which lawn tractors this item fits and does it give you any diemensions that you can use to determine the correct fitment to your tractor. Some tractors may require drilling holes in the wheels to install but the YT4500 has pre drilled holes. With my tractor the install was a snap one person can do this in about a hour but having someone hold the weight is a plus. Tools are nothing special I used two 9/16 in sockets one deep well on the back helps. Be sure to tighten well but don't over tighten or the bolt could break.
The thing that may become an issue is that there is not a space to access the valve stem to fill the tire. This will become an issue later I am sure as I fill my tires offten on my older Sears garden tractor. To do this you will need to remove the wheel weight so you will have an added incentive to keep the slow leaks fixed.
All in......

I was walking thru the local Sears store when I noticed a lone cardboard box by the lawn equipment area. What were the chances? The only box I saw was the correct one for my tractor. There was no price on the box, so I asked a nearby sales associate if he knew the price. He didn't, but carried the heavy box up to the counter for me and when he told me the price, I immediately said, "I'll take them!"

These tire chains make all the difference when trying to drive the tractor thru all the snow we recently got. If you use your tractor in the winter, I would recommend tire chains and weights.

I brought it back to the Sear and had them put on the 18x9.5.8 tire at the display. He played with it for an hour and gave up.

He recommended me to buy 20X10x8 for mine. I bought it but it is too long. Since snow all over my side walk. I must put it on. I is not perfect fit but at least I can put it on....

I have a Sears LT 2000 I purchased in October 2009. The LT does a fine job clearing our 75ft driveway with the the 42 inch snow blade and rear tire chains. 6-8 inches are no problem. I do not have weights on the rear wheels. I am 220lbs and don't think the weights will make much of an improvement. I may purchase chains for the front tires. The front tires skid a bit when pushing snow at an angle.

The chains are a bit tough to hook together. I deflated the tires a bit to make it easier to get the chains locked on....
