These blades are not the same as the standard blades that come with the 28856 42" lawn tractor as someone else ad posted in another similar review. The kit works fairly well. Minimal residual clippings left if mowing wet grass or grass that's too tall. I tried the red advanced bagging/mulching blades (like the gators) and they did very poorly - looked like they only cut half the grass. If you look at the actual cutting surface of these or the standard side discharge/bagging blades there is much more blade area than the red advanced bagging/mulching. Check the tire pressures and deck heiht to keep the cut level.
...

love this gas can. i was so leary of it @ first due to the nozzle valve. i had never seen such a contraption. this was the only can in stock, and i was in a bind so i took it home. i have been amazed w/ this can so far. ive had it over a year and it still functions well. never though the nozzle would last over a week. i have grown to love this feature. its great foir transport due to the lack of leaks and fumes. you can position the can, press the lever and fill up the mower w/o spilling fuel anywhere. its great f
...

I bought this gas can in conjunction with my new lawn mower.

I love it! Blitz advertises that this design "reduces leakage and spills." Quite honestly, having followed the instructions and being just a little mindful of how I use it, this can has eliminated my gas spills entirely. It can be a little awkward holding the release button while you depress the nozzle, but you get used to it.

I also have a major appreciation for "2+" gallon gas cans, which leave enough room for two full gallons of gas PLUS the oil if you have a gas/oil mix machine. I can slug this thing to the gas station and ask for exactly 2 gallons, knowing I won't have to guess if I have enough room for all the oil.
...

My name is David Haning and I just bought a Blitz USA 2 gal gas can today at Sears Hardware store in Kettering, Ohio. The features this can offers is what attracted me to it. I really like the no spill spout feature and the quick release lever you need to squeeze in order to pour gas from the can. This is especially nice when having to run down to the gas station to get more gas in the can. You can set it on the floor board of your vehicle and not have to worry about it spilling gas onto the floor of your automobile. Anyone who has ever had this happen to them, can really appreciate not having to worry about having another incident like that again because of the thougtht that went into to designing this gas can. Thanks so much. I'ts great!
...

I just wanted to say that I ordered the mulching blades for my lawn tractor. I am recently divorced and now I have to learn to do the things I never did before. When I first got the tractor, I loved it, but it threw the grass so far and everywhere. Now the mulching blades are on and it doesnt throw the grass, you just cant let the grass get too long as I did the first time I did it.

Other than that they are awesome, and I recommend them.

I havent really found any cons yet.
...

EXPERIENCED says "My bushhog mower!" about Craftsman 5.50 Torque Rating (158CC) 22 in. Deck 2-n-1 Mulch-Discharge Rear Bag Mower

I have an older 4.5 mower, still in use. I bought the 5.5 because it had the wonderfully manuverable large rear wheels and no bagger. Keep in mind I use these push mowers as bushhog/grass mowers in Southern brush on the back of my lot.
First buy an E3 spark plug, throw-out Champion
Second Clean the factory oil out of the filter and buy a couple of extra filters as spares when the original gets dirty due to dusty conditions.
Third put synthetic or better oil, always 30 weight, in the engine
in the beginning or as it burns, yes it will burn
the reason it isn't sold in California!
Fourth do not over fill with oil but make sure oil is in it every time before use.
Fifth if needed, oil the wheel axles to make it easier to push.
If you need a cheap mower to abuse, this is a winner!
REGARDLESS buy a large rear wheel push mower, much easier to handle....

Look at the reviews for this mower on the Sears website also.

I live in Florida and have the standard 1/4 acre lot. For the past 25 years I have bought only Craftsman lawn mowers, and have had good luck with all of them except this one.

I cut my grass the first two times without any problems. The third time I cut the grass, as soon as I started the mower it ran rough and chugged out puffs of black smoke from the muffler. After 30 minutes the mower quit.
I removd the air cleaner and it was stopped up. It was NOT stopped up with debris, it was stopped up with motor oil.
The mower was kept in the garage and was not over filled with oil. The gas can and the gas that went into the mower was new. Without getting any air for combustion the plug was fouled also. The air filter is very thick and dense, like a sponge. I have never seen one like it before.
So, I clean the air filter out with gas and clean the spark plug. the mower restarts and runs for 10 minutes and starts chugging and smoking......

I would agree with others on the fact that the blades do what they're supposed to do, but the fact that they bend very easy makes them very expensive. When you don't have much choice in blades, you have to keep buying. Hopefully over time they will make the blades stronger so they don't bend easily. I'm sure that not every one has every stick out of their yard when they mow....
