The 10" 15 amp miter saw is a great saw especially when you consider the price ($89.99 on sale). The 10" blade will limit what you can cut to 2x4 or smaller. If you are cutting long stock I recommend making your own extended fence for it. The laser is battery powered (which is weird) so don't forget to turn it off when done. Make sure you adjust the with a square before using (mine was off quite a bit).

It paid for itself on a recent crown molding job. I find myself using it a lot instead of my circular saw. It's much easier and safer. All around this is a great tool to have.
...

mattersnot says "WORTH EVERY PENNY" about Delta 10 in. 13 amp Portable Table Saw

I paid $150.00 for my Delta K9408. ( K9804?),Very portable. I did change the legs to a heartier " wood-vice stand", that was sold same 15 years ago, and was a popular job site vice/bench product.. because when ripping 2X6's and 4X4"s, the saw would nudge forward. Very stable now.

Anyway, I use it daily and use it hard. No mercy, it cuts very, very accurate. You have to get to know your saw's quips. These are portables. The fence locks hard, no slippage. The blade guard is a bit flimsy. But I do not use guards on any saws I have. The miter does go to 45'. With a little nudge.

Overall, I am real happy with this saw. After 6 years, it cuts like new. Motor has not slowed down a bit.

If one buys $80.00 VS. $140.00, well there is a difference. Spend the 140.

For an absolute pro saw, for some $300.00, Black&Decker has a portable that works like a $1,500 table saw. I have one in the shop. Portable, yes. But I leave it put.
...

trib says "Buy it" about Craftsman 10 in. 15A Compound Miter Saw with Laser Trac

Good value. It has side extensions to assist with longer cuts and a nice portable stand. The blade is good quality. My pops has a different Craftsman miter which did not come with a stand. I have used both and each are solid tools. This one was a touch more costly as it can handle larger cuts and has the stand. I guess it comes down to your need.

The dust bag fills quickly so it requires you to either empty often or have more clean-up. Worse things could happen.

I have played around with the laser a bit and can't seem to get it accurate. But, I don't use the laser much anyway as prefer to make check before I cut. I guess the laser would be the one con.

4 Stars.
...

eondream119 says "This product was very disappointing, as it did NOT work." about Craftsman Blade Conversion Kit

I bought the scrollsaw blade Conversion Kit, whose packaging clearly staed that it was compatible with ALL Craftsman 16 " saws EXCEPT Model #113. I have a 16" Model #137. When I went to retrofit the saw with the conversion kit, neither the upper nor the lower components would fit the respective arms of the saw. They were too long for the indentations at the ends of the arms.

I am so disappointed because I lost my job recently, and I have been attempting to build a home craft business wherein the scroll saw plays a key roll. The Craftsman saw only takes pin-end blades; the conversion kit was supposed to allow the saw to take both pin-end and plain-end blades. Many fine-detail applications that I wish to engage in require blades that are only plain-end. So, now I'm in the jam of having to consider buying an altogether different scrollsaw. Any suggestions (other than offers on my saw...LOL)?
...

thatmanguy says "Beast of a Jigsaw!" about Ridgid R3120

The Ridgid R3120 is a great jigsaw for regular consumers and for professionals.

First off, it has a lifetime warranty through Ridgid, all you have to do is send proof of purchase to them and they give you warranty information.

Secondly, it is a powerful saw. It had no problem tearing through the metal in my door as I was installing a cat door to my garage.

It has the convinience of a vacuum adaptor which I hooked up to my Craftsman shop vac, so the insulation and metal shavings didn't wind up all over the work area.

The cord glows when there is current flowing, it has a great, durable case to hold everything in, and it has different speed and orbital settings to adapt to different jobs.

It is a brute of a jigsaw that I have covered for life.
...

cashmine says "the Ryobi 10 in Compound Miter Saw does the job" about Ryobi 10 in. Compound Miter Saw

I've been using the Ryobi 10 inch miter saw regularly since 2003. Up till then i had no experience with Ryobi...Ryobi i was clueless. I was adding a room to house and thought a miter saw might be useful. Although i had a sears 10 radial arm saw, i surmized a miter saw might be time saving for framing and could save me the effort of carrying lumber up and down the stair everytime i needed to make a cut. I was impressed from the get go with the efficiency of using miter saw and the performance of the Ryobi. The saw has alway been precise, never required any adjustment or attention of any kind. As a result i went on to purchase a dozen additional Ryobi power tools, especially the + 18 volt line and i'm sure there will be more. There are some short comings with Ryobi. The operator mannuals are very brief at best, standard accesionies can be very hard to come by, non existant and too often they don't seem to adapt to generic or universal accessories. Ryobi is an outstanding tool line but they......

I lreally like the Craftsman Professional 10" Portable Table Saw!

I've owned several different Table saws in my 35 years as a professional finish carpenter and general contractor. I started out with a standard Craftsman cast iron belt drive 10 inch I used for about 10 years, until a trainee bent its innards beyond repair.

Next was a standard Rockwell cast iron 10 inch belt drive, to which I added extension tables, a beefed up motor, lots of accessories, and a really sweet 50" Beismeyer fence. It was set up stationary in rented shop space for several years, and I could do nearly everything with it, but rarely used it on jobsites because it was a real pain to move.

I moved the shop to my home garage and it was just too big and hard to move. I sold it and stuck out my neck by going to Builders Square and buying a very unconventional, seemingly undersized Ryobi BT3000, the ancestor of this Craftsman Professional 10 in. Portable Table Saw. It was a little underpowered and a pain to set......

I looked at this Miter Saw stand a couple of years ago, but couldn't bring myself to pay full price for it, so I went with a less expensive Craftsman product. Big mistake! This is a sturdy, useful, and adaptable stand that doesn't wobble, assembles easy, and can handle multiple tools. It comes with a 4 plug outlet, light, a cubby hole for tape measure and pencils, plus it has a couple of small legs to hold lumber.

Why did I buy it now after purchasing another one a few years ago? Well, the Craftsman was flimsy, the legs didn't lock they there were supposed too, it wasn't at a good height, AND, it was finally on sale for $150 under retail.

My only suggestion for improvement is with the manual. There is absolutely no mention in the assembly instructions about putting the wheels and handle on this stand. I could see the wheels, axle and handle in the box, but nope, not in the instructions. There are pictures with the wheels and handles attached, but no instructions. I was......

BillB says "It's okay but not up to typical Craftsman standards." about Craftsman 14" Bandsaw 119.224010

This is the new heavy duty woodworking bandsaw. It takes a longer, bigger blade than the older style. The first problem is in finding replacement blades. I like to use the 1/8 inch blades for scrolling work. These are only available online. Blades are not as easy to change as I would expect. A very good cutting machine that stands up to heavy use but this is normal and expected of Craftsman tools. The second problem is the work surface is not as large as it should be. It makes it more difficult to work large pieces of wood. The third, and only, problem is that the base is small so it ends up being a little top-heavy and "tipsy". It really needs to be anchored to make it stable. This is not real practical in a normal garage setting. It is a heavy duty cutting machine and I'm pleased with the performance....
