This belt and disc sander has been a great addition in my work shop. I;ve used it for everything from plastic to hardwood and it keeps being the quality tool I have come to expect from Craftsman.

i bought this sander for my wife-she made a few crafts-birdhouses each year. after 3 months the motor burned up-i sent it in and had it reconditioned-it lasted almost another year after that. it was a nice size for workbench but it did not hold up to seldom use....

I just got this sander and the first time I used it I was amazed at the power and the ease that it would work. A great sander for the price....

I have been using this sander for a most of a month now. I am generally satisfied with the overall construction of the unit, it is very stable with little vibration. It also has enough power to handle the wood and conditions that I have used it on. I am however quite disappointed with the dust collection system. When sanding with the belt in the vertical position the sawdust collects at the bottom of the belt and is carried up the belt and thrown onto the operator. I have tried running the sander hooked up to a 4" dust collection system and also off of a shop vac with the same results. Is there an upgrade or modification to correct this?...
