Bought this saw a few months ago and finally got to use it a couple of weeks ago at my home. I had 7 cedar boards to cut and by time I got to the 7th the saw died on me. This is two saws in 2 weeks. Both are supposed to be professional quality with this one being "contractor " grade. What a huge disappointment.... Make sure you buy extended warrantys folks. You are going to need it...
...

Great Saw! Runs quiet and strong.Only problem is it will not hold zero. I looked inside and beleive the guide rod is not poperly installed as its bushing moves back and forth rather than being screwed to the cabinet as the floor model.Good thing I got the in home repair. The fence is ok but seems to be off a 1/4 inch when making wide rips.No big deal i always measure against it anyway. For the money spent and the perfomance its a no brainer.
...

sirvey says "I've gained some industrial capabilities with this saw." about Craftsman Table Saw 152.221240

I purchased this saw a little over a year ago based on reviews and shopping comparison as one was not available in store to look at. It's a heavy weighted article for home use, a good value for the price when you consider this device put you at the threshold of industrial capability. This came with the Bieseymer fence system which I find highly accurate there is a belt drive which I think is an attribute and it's the first home shop table saw that I've owned where the blade guard acctually lines up with the blade. There is a metal table support you attach to the rear of the saw to assist you in balancing larger sheets. You can operate the saw off of 120 or 220 volts. I did notice however as I read in other reviews that the blade seems to slow down in certain cuts like harder woods. I would say to make sure your blade is sharp at all times and that will help overcome some of that. It is possible that if you ran the saw on a 220 line instead of 120 there would be a difference in operation...
...

Great saw for around the house. I have had several table saws thru the years. This saw is portable. It stores easily in my garage, between the cars. I can move it out and be set up to cut in just minutes. I recently put a Dado blade on the arbor and was pleased that there was plenty of power to make the cuts. Unless your a cabinet maker... this is the saw for you. By the way, it cuts true, unlike several other saws that I have owned in the past...
...

mattersnot says "WORTH EVERY PENNY" about Delta 10 in. 13 amp Portable Table Saw

I paid $150.00 for my Delta K9408. ( K9804?),Very portable. I did change the legs to a heartier " wood-vice stand", that was sold same 15 years ago, and was a popular job site vice/bench product.. because when ripping 2X6's and 4X4"s, the saw would nudge forward. Very stable now.

Anyway, I use it daily and use it hard. No mercy, it cuts very, very accurate. You have to get to know your saw's quips. These are portables. The fence locks hard, no slippage. The blade guard is a bit flimsy. But I do not use guards on any saws I have. The miter does go to 45'. With a little nudge.

Overall, I am real happy with this saw. After 6 years, it cuts like new. Motor has not slowed down a bit.

If one buys $80.00 VS. $140.00, well there is a difference. Spend the 140.

For an absolute pro saw, for some $300.00, Black&Decker has a portable that works like a $1,500 table saw. I have one in the shop. Portable, yes. But I leave it put.
...
