I really like this tool. It works great for fastening upholstery fabrics. No half driven staples, quick and positive. I would say a 5 except that it doesn't have a work surface contact trigger safety like my brad and crown staplers. I've managed to fire off a couple of unintended staples....

I have never really used power tools or tools of any sort until I bought my first home. During this process I have gotten to work with a number of tools trying to renovate the house house. I had a buddy of mine who laid hardwood floors in his house come over and help. We've got approx. 1400 square feet to lay thus i needed to purchase I stapler. I thought about renting and looked at some other products as well, but I am glad that I went with this stapler! It is extremly easy to use, the guides help make sure the staples goes into the grooves and not the top. I am currently half way done and thanks to this stapler it only took a little over 5 hours to do with both of us working on it. I haven't had any problems with the stapler yet! I would recommend this product to anyone!...

I purchased another flooring stapler from a different web vendor and it was awful..it never shot one staple; had no directions, but came with a CD on how to use a manual flooring nailer. I had to return it. I was dreading having the same experience, but this one was wonderful. It shoots a staple everytime and perfectly precise. The directions are easy to follow. I installed 400 sq ft of 3/8" thick hardwood flooring (Brazilian Koa) in my master bedroom with this stapler. I would definately advise the purchase of this tool!...

I didn't buy this set, but I borrowed it from my brother to install shoe molding. I read the instructions...what guy does that, right?...because I didn't want to break it. I bought the correct nails and set the PSI on my air compressor to what was recommended.

The first few nails went way too deep. Beginner's error. I had to keep adjusting the air compressor (a Craftsman) until I got the right depth. The major annoyance I had with the gun that I used was that every other time I pulled the trigger, the sleeve holding the nails would pop out. Even after I adjusted the pressure. Sometimes the nails would fly all over the room...pretty dangerous.

The other annoying thing was that little red plastic piece that appears to be there so you won't dent your wood...that's a joke. No matter what pressure I used, I got a mark. I guess that's why Sears also sells wood filler.

On the positive, it was easy to handle with little kickback.
...

littlehorn says "Awesome nailer that outperforms Bostitch" about Craftsman 18 ga. Flooring Stapler

I recently laid about 300 square feet of 3/8" Bruce Rock Hampton engineered hardwood in the process of remodelling my kitchen. I needed a stapler that would allow for the proper installation of this hardwood.

I looked at renting some of the Bostitch guns, but they require special staples, which can get pricey and are not usable if you have leftover staples after the job is done, since they are specific to the Bostitch guns.

I showed my wife the Craftsman gun and she bought it for me as a birthday present since I was paying for the rest of the remodelling materials myself.

The gun arrived quickly and worked flawlessly. Set-up of the plastic protective "boot" that aims the stapler at the proper angle took only a few minutes. The gun performed flawlessly throughout the job and even though I was using only a small 1hp, 2gal Craftsman compressor and not my usual 6.5hp 30-gal shop unit, air consumption was not an issue.

The gun is pressure set at the regulator, not on the gun, so you need......
