On many construction projects, I need to cut drywall, insulation, rope, linoleum and even sharpen my construction pencil. Those slide-out blades wear out and slip with poor grip on the handles. With the Craftsman Folding Lock-Back Utility Knife, I have a solid grip on this tool that has full view of the blade locked in place. I like the quick blade change lever, giving me fast flip action to use the other side of the blade in seconds. No screw driver necessary. It also folds into itself, taking up less valuable room in your pocket, sheath or tool box.
...

Johnjuan says "Heavy duty" about Craftsman Folding Lock-Back Utility Knife

This knife is heavy duty, well made, and sturdy as heck. It comes with a removable razor blade so you can change the blade when it gets dull, and is foldable and lockable for ease of carrying. I've bought knives that were somewhat like this model but the difference in build quality between this one and the others is extremely noticeable. The others were always coming loose and needing to be constantly tightened, but this thing is solid as a rock. It's good to know some things are still well made.
...

PRomaldini says "Best utility knife in the history of earth!" about Stanley FatMax Xtreme Retractable Utility Knife 10-815

Many people have complained about the difficulty of deploying/retracting the blade in this knife. Both operations are easily accomplished if you simply loosen the big, beautiful, golden knob first. This is what it was made for. As stated on the Stanley website, "Dial locks blade firmly in place." Torque down that knob righty-tighty and the blade will not budge no matter what! That's the idea!!! A simple half turn of the dial lefty-loosey and the blade is easily retracted back into its housing. Keep loosening a few more turns and the two halves of the handle are easily swung apart for easy-peasy blade changes. And check out the ample spare blade storage while you're in there!! Room for twenty!!! This is by far the best engineered retractable utility knife in the history of earth! The ergonomics are second to none. A pleasure to use all day. This puppy is rock-solid!! Just use your brain and you'll love it!!!!!
...

bandit1234 says "Best looking to go along with the quality for the best price" about Craftsman Utility Knife 994848

I bought this knife about a year ago because it was on sale, but thats not the only reason. I work with wood for a proffession so quality plays an important role. I noticed it felt very sterdy and had a lifetime warranty to back up its claim on quality. I also thought it looked different from all the other utility knifes out there, and better from my point of view. I've now had this knife for about a year and it works as good as new. I can definitly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a good product for a good deal. It craftsman; and I've noticed that craftsman does make some pretty good tools, especialy when you consider the price.
...

SRR1138 says "Very sturdy and easy to cut with, excellant folding mechanics." about Craftsman Utility Knife 994848

Comes in three colors, Red, Black, and Blue. I choose blue for the heck of it. Man is this knife better then any utility knife that I have in my collection. Folds out and stays put when making a cut. Nice little belt holder pouch. Probably won't use that, but it keeps the knife from being rattled around in my tool chest I guess. Nice folding action, and quick blade changes....
