TooOldToMow says "Performance Tool Double Flare Tool Is JUNK!" about Performance Tool Double Flare Tool

The double flare adapter for 5/16 is missing the cone machining. The tube holding bar is bent in two directions. The 45 degree bevels in the bar don't line up. The cone threads deform on soft copper type l tubing. The flare comes out lop sided. This is the worst piece of junk I have ever seen. It was all my local sears store had in stock at the time. I would not recommend that anyone purchase this product. Buy a Rigid 345 DL or Mastercool kit. They are worth the extra cost.
...

thehermit says "the old one lasted for 29 years of continuous home service" about Craftsman professional 1/3 hp shallow well pre-plumbed system model 2521

THE TITLE ON THIS COMMENT SHOULD BE CRAFTSMAN PROFESSIONAL 1/2 HP SHALLOW WELL PRE-PLUMBED SYSTEM MODEL NUMBER 2521---------------------------

I live in an area of the high desert in Southern California where water is precious. When I bought my house in 1976, I had the choice to drill a very deep and expensive well, or place a large underground potable water tank(2,100 gallons) close to where my kitchen and bathroom would be, and pump water up from this tank (which is filled periodically by truck) into the house water system by a shallow well pump and pressure system.... I wanted something that would be dependable and trouble free.... I chose a Sears Craftsman, Pump and Pressure tank from the local Sears Catalog Store--the catalog stores of course are no longer around.

After continuous use from 1980, when I installed it, the pump has finally started to leak a little. It probably can be repaired, which I'll do after I remove it and replace it with the new one that I just purchased...
...

Just as described in the picture. Looked for weeks online and in stores for this skimmer. Sears was the cheapest price that could be found. Fast and easy shipping directly to my residence. After getting it and opening it up it was exactly what I wanted for my Garden Pond. "My fish love it."...

AnineThailand says "What angle is the flare?" about Performance Tool Double Flare Tool

There are two different angles used in flare tool world. One is 45 degrees and the other 37 degrees. The "detailed" instructions did not detail this very important detail. So now I will return it for a refund because there's no way of knowing how many degrees the flare is. Otherwise the hydraulic lines will leak if the angles don't match....
