I got the Mouse three years ago. I've used it to sand the finish off furniture. It's also good for sanding drywall joints. The kit is super extensive. It comes with a lot of sandpaper, bits for precision sanding, and other accessories. My first Mouse quit working after an hour's use, but Sears was awesome and replaced it quickly. The next Mouse has lasted the remaining time. One complaint is that replacement sanding sheets are hard to come by in most grit counts. I also wish the orbit was a bit larger, so the Mouse could sand more per orbit.
...

This has been a great tool from day one. I used it to undercut the trim on the doorway when I just did my tile in the bathroom and it was incredible within seconds I had both sides done and on to the next thing. I used it to do my enlargement for the mirror vanity even cutting through 1 1/2" of drywall in my old house it flew right through. I originally started cutting with a razor knife then remembered my new tool and put it to work. The blades do wear out a little prematurely if used on drywall very much but as far as cutting through some of the 16 penny nails and 2 x 4's that I couldn't get to with a sawzall it did a great job. You can't put too much force on it as it will overload the tool but that's to be expected with anything that is 12 volts. Make sure to buy one extra battery and you'll be in great shape the charger is a 30 minute charger which gets you off and running but it is always nice to have a backup when you have two minutes worth of cutting left to do. The...
...

The Craftsman 12 Volt NEXTEC Multi-Tool is my newest favorite tool! I bought it for a project where I had to replace the 250 year old sill plate under my front door, along with the 7 ft wide threshold. The trim-cut blade was essential for the job - it allowed me to slide the new threshold (8/4 x 14-1/2" Phillipine Mahogany into place) with a minimum of effort. I recommend the tool - but if you buy it, get an extra battery and extra blades at the same time - only Craftsman will work with it.
...

BobCohen says "The Mulit-Max fill a gap in the small power tool arena" about Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool Kit

The Dremel Multi-Max is a small hand-held oscillating power tool. This new group of cutting tools vibrate instead of rotating. I have used this tool in my handy-man business for the better part of a year now. The tool claims to cut a variety of material concluding soft metal. What impresses me the most is the ability to cut molding and casting, while still on the wall, with no damage to the surrounding surfaces. One customer, who gave me a nice tip, could not believe how neatly I removed a small piece of molding to access a phone wire.

The tool comes with a limited supply of blades. Different blades must be purchased separately for jobs such as grout removal. Blades change is simple with the supplied hex key. You can set the blade at various angles to get into tight places.

This tool take a bit to get used to. The Multi-Max seem to up heat up after some use indicating it may be a little short on power. I may have...
...

I got the mult-tool for a birthday present. My first use was a mild sanding job. I followed the instructions about charging the battery before using it the first time. 20 minutes into the sanding job the light started blinking and tool stopped. I placed the batter in the charger and it would not charge. The lights never came on. I returned for an exchange. No hassles.

I returned home and attempted to charge the new battery. No joy, no lights. This puppy is going back to the store tomorrow. I'll give it one more chance, but will test the charger in the store before taking it home.
...

dennisdort says "Glue goes bad and falls apart if stored in a garage in Florida." about Craftsman Sanding Belts

I am reviewing the Craftsman sander belts for their electric belt sander. My sander takes belts that are 2 1/2 wide by 16 inches long. They are listed as bidirectional, meaning that if one edge becomes too worn, you can take it off and put the good edge where the worn one was, without replacing the belt with a new one. This changes the direction the belt moves.

The belts are secured in a continuous loop by a row of short, strong fibers which are glued on the belt ends, making them continuous loops.

Here is my evaluation: They work well, but if stored in a garage that is constantly fan venalated in Florida, the glue holding the fibers that make the belt a loop come apart in too short a storage time, when attempting to install and use them.

This, of course, makes the belts, previously used or not, useless. You have to go to a Sears store, or catalog order them, new and fresh.

I would recommend storing them in a closet, or elsewhere,...
...

After seeing an intriguing infomercial for the Fein MultiMaster, then finding out the price, I decided to hunt around for a similar power tool. I saw that Sears.com had the SoniCrafter at something more reasonable for my budget, and that it's spec's matched up well with the Fein. I just tried it out on a grout removal project & have to say it did a fantastic job. It went right through the grout with little effort. I'd taken a shot at the same task with a Dremel tool (not the Dremel Multi-Max), but quickly realized that it would take far too long with the tiny accessories. The Dremel is fine for small, intricate jobs, but not for the large scale projects. I'm looking forward to a few other projects that I had in mind when I first bought the SoniCrafter. A great, handy, multipurpose tool!
...

I am not the handiest of people, I must admit. Our dining room table has been looking horrible-crayon and marker stains all over, an iron fell on it, etc...So, I decided to try to sand it and stain it myself. Someone recommended a palm sander would help to make this job a cinch. I headed to Sears and purchased this Craftsman Palm Sander. My job was made so much easier b/c of this sander! I thought I was in for HOURS of work-was I wrong! It is light to handle, and just took care of my table in no time. I am excited to have finished this project! I can't wait to show everyone my "new" table.
...

The Sear's Craftsman Bandom Orbital Sander 172.25927 is the best sander I have used. It doesn't shake so bad that you can use if only for a short time and then not have any feeling in your hand. You can work for hours with this sander and have no problems with losing the feeling in your hand. It is really the best orbital sander I have ever used. Does the job fast and easy. I like the dust collector as well. I use my Craftsman shop vac to attach to it. I am sold on it.
...

The Craftsman Mouse Sander is one of the best little sanders they make, I use it on everything I build. I just love the velcrow sanding pads. They vary from course grit to extra fine grit, and they also offer tip accessory pads to use on the tip of the sander for getting into the corners and tight places. For as small as the Mouse is its very powerful. I have had my Mouse for many years and I am so glad that it has not ever been discontinued. Just today I went to my local Sears store to purchase more sanding pads and was very pleased to see the whole line of pads....
