Not only do I work in the Lawn and Garden department at my sears store, I'm also a loyal user of Craftsman products. I own this tractor and deeply love it!!! I have around a two acre yard and it's amazing for my house!!!!! The new turn-right technology is insane!!! I couldn't believe how much time it cut done from my usual yard mowing amount. Which I wasn't too happy about seeing as this is my tanning time :). The speed this 24horsepower briggs motor has behind it is astounding!!! Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it to customers everyday!!!

My yard is all down hill and must be mowed by going up and down the yard instead of across. The riding mower pulls up the yard with great power in high gear. Shifting to a lower gear to go down hill is very easy. I love mowing my yard now that I have a riding mower that is powerful enough to pull up hill with little effort. It takes me about 45 minutes to mow about 1 acre of grass.

I bought this for my wife as she made me a deal I couldnt refuse. She would mow twice a week if I bought her a rider. Our 30 x 90 lot is made short work of and the big tires have helped level out the lawn. She got use to mower after just a few mowings. The mower manuvers easily enough and gets into most places so that I dont have very much weed wacking to do. I thought the bagger attachement was a bit pricey and instead purchased a lawn sweeper for a third the price. The sweeper can practically be dumped on the fly and makes short work of leaves and pine cones and needles. Starting is 100% electric which I dont know is a good idea or not because no starter or battery means no mower. Im not sure what maintenance is going to be like as blade and belt are not stocked at my Sears store or Outlet. Changing the oil filter is one big mess with Sears Techs offering no helpful ideas how to prevent the impending oil spill. Using my Craftsman blower and standing the mower on end make clean......

If you are looking for a trail-mower for hills and woodlands this mower climbs and cuts great. The engine and transmission combine to provide the power to climb hills (think about purchasing chains when you buy) with a mower deck that actually has the ground clearance claimed and a width to move easily around / between trees, rocks and roots.

Bought in April 2011 to replace worn out ToryBilt with same engine. This is a ruff riding mower. I am having big time trouble starting this engine. I had no problems with this engine in the TroyBilt. I am just starting down the path of getting them to fix it. Will let you know how it turns out. It is now December 2011. I thought it might need some "breaking in" I guess I was wrong. I know I should have called them after the first few months.

edit to add update - Update 12/16/2011 - Wow, service was fast and easy. Will be here next week Wednesday. I think the trouble is the choke valve not shutting all the way. Will let you know what service guy says.

Edit 12/20/2011 Update: Called last Friday and said if I wanted to service could be here Monday. Well, yeah. Showed up and it was the choke, fixed in about 30 seconds. I had to finish getting all leaves mulched up, cold outside, started like a champ. I will update if anything else happens, but all seems well. This engine is a work-horse...

super mower , plenty of power, turns on a dime, does a great job .... my only complaint , is the rear wheel wideth should be wider , the slightest incline you lose traction ... other than that , it is a super mower

I actually have the 42 inch wide version,but its the same machine,I bought it at the beginning of the season for my lawn care business and I put over 150 hours on this unit in one summer! I have not had one problem with it running constantly! Cuts great! I keep the blades up every 2 weeks becuase of heavy use! I have guys in the business tell me I am crazy for using this mower in a lawncare business because it is not a commercially rated unit,but I had no choice! Its the only machine I could afford while starting a business and hey it worked all summer without fail! And I hope to get another good season out of it! I am sure if you are a home owner looking for a great lawn mower to last 10 years or more(with proper maintenance) I would put my money on this machine!! I have literally beat the hell out of this machine! The bagging hardware is bruised up from a worker backing into a tree! But its all in one piece and for the price, I am very impressed! I think it may even withstand another...

Just completed the 2nd season with this mower and am generally pleased. I use it on my 1.5 acre New England property with 3 different yard types to do, including one that is sloped. The engine will bog down and even stall if you mow somewhat overgrown grass, even on the highest cut setting. You'll have to go over overgrown grass at the highest cut setting and again if you want it any lower. I use the mulching blades. They tend to clump the grass rather than spread it around as you'd really like, but if you don't wait til the grass is overgrown it does a decent job. I think it'll help if the blades are kept sharp and I'll be doing that this off-season. The ride is good, the noise is bearable. Vibration isn't bad, the transmission is smooth. You'll lose traction on a steep incline especially if it's a bit damp (though of course you shouldn't be mulching wet stuff). But I've always been able to reverse out if it gets stuck. The tight turning radius is very helpful. I'm following the service......

My wife was beginning to worry that leaves and grass were going to overcome me as age envelops me. So, at her insistence I bought a riding, bagging mower. I came very close to buying a zero turn for a third more, but reviews told me to save some money and I'm glad I did. This is a well built tractor that cuts and bags well and starts and runs as one would expect. What more am I to say? I cut the grass and trimmed today in 45 minutes, down from a bit over 2 hours with my self propelled Toro. I expect it to be my last mower, even if it allows me to last a bit longer. :) Nothing is perfect, go ahead and cement the rubber seal on the upper bagger chute before it gets dirty....

my mother inlaw owens this mower .for about five years. and i cut her grass with this mower .and i love this mower. never hade any promblem with this mower.it turns on a dime but the only thing i dont like about this mower is that in reverse in barely moves. but for the price you cant go wrong. me my self i think this mower is better than the zero turn moers.
