After doing much research, I bought my first Sears riding lawn tractor with its Koehler engine in 1999 to keep my 3 acres of uneven field free of tall, thick weeds - a real workout. I replaced the mower in 2008 as the post holding the mulching blade snapped free of the deck. Same model, and to date, no problems. I would hightly recommend this product.

Just got my new LT3000 delivered by Sears and could not be more pleased.It came Uncrated and ready to mow. I didnt even have to add the engine oil. One hour after it arrived I was cutting my front lawn and all I can say is WOW. I owned a 2004 Huskee 42 inch 18hp and this new Craftsman puts that to shame.It started right up on the first try and has plenty of power and the turning radius is great. Getting around bird baths and shrubs are a breeze.Before I purchased the Craftsman I checked out the ********** at ***** and was turned off by the pastic hood and the birdsnest of electrical wires that seemed to be everwhere.The Craftsman just looked and felt more prim and proper.PS love the adjustable seat.....Jack

WARNING! ANYONE THINKING OF BUYING A "DOZER BLADE" FOR THIS TRACTOR,STOP,,DONT DO IT. YOU MUST REMOVE THE CUTTING DECK,,AND LEAVE IT OFF. THE CUTTING DECK WILL NOT GO BACK ON WITH THE BLADE KIT INSTALLED. EVEN IF YOU REMOVE THE BLADE THE HARDWARE KIT THAT BOLTS TO THE FRAME WILL NOT ALLOW THE DECK TO BE USED. ALL THE MOUNTING KIT MUST BE REMOVED EVERY TIME , IT IS A TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP.

I bought this tractor, used, from a close friend, 30 days ago and mowed my 2.5 acre pasture that had 3 foot high weeds and coastal grass over 14 inches high. This tractor is powerful and handled this job very well. My house sits on one acre and it did the finish mow on my house lawn beautifully and in 60% of the time it took with my old 42" Craftsman lawn tractor, which I had great service out of for 10 years. I needed a tractor for both the pasture and my yard, and this Professional Series Garden Tractor fits the bill perfectly. It had 140 hours on it when I bought it and had been kept like new. I know I will get years of service out of this Tractor

I would recommend the Craftsman Professional Series of Garden Tractor for anyone who needs both an excellent finish mower for the large yard as well as needing something for maintaining open land of 2 acres and up-- mowing on an ongoing basis. One machine for both purposes. I am more that pleased.

I have owned this Craftsman Garden Tractor for 2 1/2 years now, and simply love it. I does everything that I ask it to do, and has not given me any trouble. The Kohler engine is powerful and runs smoothly. I have used this tractor on a 10 acre piece of land and mowed grass up to 3 feet tall without any problems. I produces a smooth cut (when used on exceptionally high grass, it requires multiple passes) and does not bog down. I just reduce my forward speed when mowing taller grass and this mower can handle it. If you are looking for a versatile, powerful garden tractor, this is definitely worth looking at....

I have had my tractor for 3 years now and really haven't had any issues, until now. My tractor will not cut up hill at the recommended 15 degree slope. It won't even move forward on an almost 0 degree(flat) piece of property. I only have 42 hours on my mower and feel that is a wide spread issue on this tractor. I think Craftsman should recall this tractor and replace the ****** hydrostatic transmission with a heavy duty transmission. I am not impressed at all that only after 3 years and $2500 spent on this tractor, that now I will need to fork out almost half the cost of the tractor to have it fixed. I had purchased a new mower from a well know business nearly 15 yrs ago and never had any issues. I gave it away recently because I wasn't using it because I had what I thought was a reliable tractor. Boy was I wrong. Anyway, the mower I gave away is still running after all these yrs. Craftsman or Sears need to own up to a defect and have it fixed at their expence.

I just purchased this Lawn Tractor for my huband in May. We picked it up a few days later with the deck unattached. Took it home and read the instructions and attached the deck (easy as pie). My husband was nice enough to allow me to take the frist ride. Was I surprised! As far as I can remember back, my dad has always had craftsman in his yard and the rider I mowed his 4 lots with was low and sturdy and alway got the job done. Was a little more to the operation of it and a lot more physical. Didn't have the cup holder, but he welded one on for me. Nice cold beer and a riding lawn mower, nothing better! We are very happy with the ride, and ease of operation of our new Craftsman. Adjustable seat and safety feature of shut off when you leave the seat when running. We have 3 acres and it gets the job done, we thought it would take for ever, but with the wider deck and power we can clip it out in an evening after work! I purchased this excellent Garden Tractor last summer, (to replace riding mower that was under-powered and had too limited a list of attachments for my needs) to help maintain my 1 ¼ acres of somewhat uneven land located in the High Desert. I required a tractor that would do much more than mow my relatively small areas of grass. Much of my land has fruit trees and mowing weeds, moving dirt, and leveling ground were among the tasks.

The Craftsman Garden Tractor with its Kohler 26 hp engine and automatic transmission is an ease to use and has excellent power. Mowing weeds was a simple task. The need to move and level dirt are easily handled. The amazingly large range of attachments allowed me to easily select attachments for my needs, (I have Craftsman Garden Tractor Sleeve Hitch, a Craftsman Box Scraper/Leveling Blade and a drag that Sears offered last year).

About the only planned change is too purchase when my budget allows, the Craftsman Electric Assist Kit. The manual Sleeve Hitch is...

I have previously had a garden tractor years ago and I thought that I had a good one . This Kohler California model is more than I expected . Model # 28948 I followed the well written instructions and had the tractor running and mowing my field in no time .

I am partially disabled and 71 years old so I also ordered a sleeve hitch , an electric assist , and a metal dump cart .

The yard / garden guru , David , was a tremendous help to me , geting exactly what I needed for extra implements and attachments .

The unit is a little loud but I wear ear protection .

We have an older version of this tractor. (2008) We absolutely love it! It used to take us and our neighbor hours to mow 3 acres and the trails on the back 9 acres. (gotta love our neighbors for all of their help) Now we can mow everything our selves. (giving the neighbor more time for his own yard) We have a large hill on our property and this mower goes up the hill at an angle with ease. It does have some trouble going down the hill, though. It tends to "fall" the last half even in 1st gear. We have never overheated it or had belts slip, problems we had with our last Toro lawn mower. The ride is very bouncy in the yard, but when mowing along the road it smooths out. So far we are very happy with this tractor.

This is the first tractor I have owned myself. I actually have the Pro 25 hp with the 46" deck. I guess they discontinued it but I have no idea why. It is great and for around the house it is awsome.

I did a lot of research before I decided on the PGT 9000. I looked at many comparable models from other manufacturers and my deciding factor was that you got much more for your money with this tractor. I was hoping that I would like it as much in reality as I did on paper. Well, I have had the tractor for the bulk of the summer now and it has not disappointed. It is very solid, mows great, rides smooth and has a lot of options. I especially like the 12 cutting positions. I use the tractor to mow a 2.5 acre lawn with some obstacles and minimal slopes. It mows so well I actually look forward to the chore I used to hate. I have had no problems with this tractor and would recommend it to anyone. Don't forget to follow the setup section in the manual which instructs on adjusting tire pressure, deck leveling, etc.

All around a decent mower with one perhaps significant exception. When mowing down the slightest incline, smoke pours out the front end of the mower. That is very dissappointing. Something is clearly wrong.
