MegMc says "Exceptional value for the money!" about Schwinn 230 Recumbent Bike

I did a LOT of research before deciding on a recumbant to buy. Having torn my MCL, and going through physical therapy, I wanted an option I could use at home to help strengthen my leg and give me the cardio work out that the injury has really limited.

This bike is really a fantastic buy, it includes a lot of features that are usually found in bikes two and three times the price. It is VERY sturdy and unbelievably QUIET!! (In fact the only noise I can actually hear while using it is the creak of my brace!!). There are quite a few great pre programed 'rides', so sure to please any style of rider. Great resistance range. Comfortable seat. Great set up guide, takes the frustration out of 'assembly required'. (only took a little over an hour to set up).

If you're looking into getting a recumbant PLEASE consider this one or any by Schwinn, they really do make an extremely well made mid range bike :)
...

Needtogetinshape says "Love it-I would recommend it." about ProForm XP 185 U Upright Exercise Bike

This bike is easy on the knees, very quiet, seat is comfortable (more comfortable than the NordicTrac we tried at the store). Seems to be well built for the price. I do wish the user's manual explained what the different programs are for, ie which ones are for weight loss, cardio, aerobic. I am 5'5" and the lowest setting on the seat might be too tall for shorter people. However, I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone looking for a reasonably priced good bike--except short people :)
...

SPC4Smith says "The Pro Form 10.8x, So Far So Good. My Father likes it." about ProForm ProForm 10.8x

With all of my years in the Military as a Mechanic, I have gotten used to "Hurry up and Wait" along with Follow The Manual.

That said, I followed the instructions and made sure that all of the parts were present first, then began to read the instruction booklet. Next I began the assembly of this present for my father.

I wanted him to have a nice recumbant bicycle to use on days that it is raining or inconvenient to get a road bike out and ride. He loves to ride every day if possible.

This Pro Form 10.8x was relatively easy to assemble it took me about two hours and again, YES I did read the directions and follow them. :-) Just take your time putting it together and make sure the internal electrical plugs are exactly plugged-in correctly!!

After the purchase at Sears we were told that our Pro Form 10.8x would be on order and ready for pick-up in five days, that same evening my wife and I checked at K-Mart, Which Sears OWNS and found the exact same Pro Form 10.8x with Two of them IN-Stock...
...

Denali962 says "Poorly built piece of junk" about NordicTrack C3 si

This is a poorly built piece of junk. I purchased it today and assembled it in about 1 hr.

The fit and finish is beyond bad. The welds on the main frame look like a junior high shop class project. After putting the bike together I tried for over 1 hour to get it to work. I had to partially dis assemble the flywheel shield to adjust the reed switch pick up to make the display do anything. This is apparently a common problem because it is covered in the owners manual under troubleshooting. Upon disassemly I found the switch wasn't even close to being adjusted properly, not that you would know it by the poor instructions in the owners manual. Once I got that fixed and reassembled the bike I found the instructions lacking for operation and use. All in all I'm very unhappy with this unit and will disassemble it and bring it back to sears. I should have spent the extra dough for the ProForm unit I was looking at. I"ve learned. If you buy this piece of junk you will regret it.
...
