Our family purchased this bike a few weeks ago after a lot of research on the internet. We find it to be very quiet and sturdy. I know my husband likes the idea of having the iFit capability. He only wishes that he chose the one to fit his new iPad. The only downside is the seat. It is not as comfortable as I would have hoped. After about 20 minutes on the bike, my butt was sore and numb. Overall, I would recommend this bike to anyone...especially the price.
...

SOCRATESTHEWISE says "WHIRLWINDS FLAWS CAN BE EASILY FIXED" about ProForm XP Whirlwind 280 Upright Exercise Bike

I do like this exersize bike. It's half the price of the Schwin Aerodyne. The Profoms frame fits me comfortably and I like the lever-arm action it provides as well as the upright console for viewing progress and resting my arms. I felt the frame was substantial enough, yet conveniently sized for moving about in the room for a guy my size ( 5'8" height and about 280 lbs). I need the daily workout for cardio-weight loss and improvements in my breathing quality, which this does for me. I use it twice per day, 20- 30 minute in the morning & evening, and I am slowly loseing weight and improving my other aspects of health and strength as a result.

The flaw to this bike lies in the manner that the pulley belt drive wheel and the axle are affixed to each other, and the bearings that this axle rotates on. If you are somewhat mechanically inclined and able to work with a few hand tools, you yourself can fix this bike so it works trouble free.

As to the pulley belt drive wheel-axle assembly flaw,......

I was considering getting the Norditrac Upright but got this one instead, only because it was in stock. Big mistake. First of all even on it's lowest setting the resistance was too high to maintain at a fast speed for any reasonable amount of time. The seat was also very uncomfortable and I constantly found myself having to use it without sitting down. The handle bars were too far forward which causes you to put enough wait on your wrist that after 15 minutes or so it becomes very uncomfortable. The control panel did not work very well after the second night I kept hearing the speakers go off. I had to remove the batteries after every use to avoid the annoying noise the speakers were making. On the plus side it does not take up much room and is easy to assemble.
...

I love this bike. I bought it two weeks ago. It took me and my 10 year old child about and hour to build while we watched a movie. You may need someone to help hold parts of the bike as you put it together. You will need a wrench and a screw driver of your own. It is quiet, looks very professional, the handles adjust, small enough for a corner in a room. The only complaint is the seat looks super comfy but it isn't when you ride for a while. I still love it, though! Worth every penny....

We purchased the Schwinn 150 to replace an older bike. We intended to buy the Nordic Track, but instead bought this one. Excellent choice. We are very pleased with it. Easy to put together, my husband did it by himself. I ride it daily, very, very, quiet. It has so many options on it, I don't even use half of them. I am pleased that it tracks time, calories, distance, enough for me. The seat is comfortable. I have no negative issues with it at all. We got great service and they were prompt loading it. We bought it on Friends & Family night so got an even better deal plus 12 months free financing. Good job Sears.
...

Did you know that both this bike and NodicTrac are both made by the same company? Icon Fitness so this is actually a quality bike. I feel the front of my thighs being worked along with my calves. I usually move on to the Proform 440XP afterwards. Sure it would be nice if you didn't have to use batteries. But problem easily solved with some rechargeable batteries. I actually play my music from my kindle and read at the same time, find it's enjoyable. Oh yeah almost forgot I tried the handle bars on some of the other bikes. They just weren't comfortable I like the fact I can lean forward like a real bike after 20 minutes. Highly recommended!
...

Love love love this machine! I've been using it for a week and have noticed an improvement in my mood and sleep. I did pay for delivery and assembly, extra $ but worth it. I also opted for the 5 year maintenance plan as it was reasonable and it looks like I'll be giving this bike a workout! I am a mature woman, not planning on running any marathons but want to stay in shape!...

Assembled this bike alone in about an hour. Popped in the batteries and hopped on right away using one of the weight loss programs. The resistance ranged from light to very firm and gave me a good workout. The seat is oversized and fairly comfortable. I do agree with other reviewers that the handlebars are too far forward, but I don't think this will be a deal-breaker for me. I have priced several exercise bikes, and this bike is relatively inexpensive with a wide range of features.
...

But after riding it for 1 week a rubbing noise started to devellop and then a scraping sound. I took the bike apart and I am returning it. I am now very displeasd with the bike.
Of course the unit was purchased to help reach my New Years resolution. It did. The bike was nice and sturdy but the instructions were hard to understand. Had to sort of "learn as I went" method. Not to difficult though. Sort of like most bikes but you know you were on a well built unit. I liked having the backing of the Nordic Trac name behind it, knowing the product came with a good warranty....
