I prefer recumbent bikes (but don't have the room for a normal one) - this one has a more upright feel than normal recumbents - but still works to slightly lean against the back and is comfortable. I like that I can also lean forward against the front bars as well as another position. So far this one is working well and I really like it. I love that it folds up.
...

I purchased my first one and it lasted four days before it started to grind and groan and clang and bang. I exchanged it for a new one and it lasted thirteen days before the same thing happened to it. I am now waiting for a warranty repair. I hope that it can be repaired because it isn't a bad cycle design. The problem is poor construction and parts and assembly back in good ole China.
...

I purchased this item because of the price and convenience of the work out. The floor model at the store seemed to be well put together and the ressitance was perfect. However after getting it home and spending 1.5 hours assembling it, the problems started. The resistance was not what i expected. MOST importantly, when I powered up the console, it started to pour out white smoke. I shut it down, but the damage was done, the resistance motor had burned up. So I had to lug this thing back to the store and get a return./ I DO NOT recommend this item as you could spend another $100 and get something of much higher quality. I guess I got what I paid for...
...

CriticalCodger says "Many Unexpected and Great Surprises!" about Schwinn 250 Recumbent Cycle

Surprise #1. This is the smoothest & most quiet piece of fitness equipment I've ever purchased for home use over the past 40-years, and there have been many.

Surprise #2. I discovered that the Schwinn Fitness, Bowflex, Universal, and Core Body brands are all part of Nautilus Inc. Schwinn's name recognition and reputation has always been very high on my list but, having been a member at several fitness clubs, Nautilus was THE standard to emulate.

Surprise #3. I admit that I was a little disappointed when I saw that dreaded, "Made in China" printed on the box. I almost canceled my order. The real surprise was that this product appears to be extremely well made. The hardware kit is very substantial, assembly instructions are clear, the welded parts of the bike seem sturdy, and the finish and detailing are very eye-pleasing. I only gave it 4-stars since this reflects my initial impression and experience. Time and continued use will determine if it deserves 5-stars.

Surprise # 4. It's been a...
...

It took awhile to put this togther also and like the other review said my console also comes on about every 20 minutes and I had a tech guy come out and he ordered a new console but I haven't received it yet because they are on back order. Their is no place on this bike to plug in the adapter, even the tech guy said an adapter doesn't work with this bike. I really do like using this bike but I hope after I get the new console it doesn't keep coming on by its self.
...

This product is very well built and easy to operate ......the assembly is straightforward but requires three to four hands .....the parts were not machined very well ...ie the clearance holes for some of the bolts were off....the bushing for the variable angle control panel had to be reamed out because the pin would not fit....you may need someone with proper tools and mechanical aptitude beyond the instruction manual to properly assemble this beast.

I was a little worried about putting it together because of some of the comments. I asked my best friend who is a mechanic to help me put it together. The screws were a little hard to put in and had to use the adjustable wrench to help screw in the screws, but I guess they won't loosen as tight as they went in, which is a good thing. We followed the directions one by one and got it together in about an hour. Have to keep in mind when putting the petals on that one goes clockwise and the other couterclockwise. Following the directions is the best thing to do. Works great! I am 6' 3" and it fits me fine. I even have a little more room to go back if needed. What a great machine. Works smoothly and easy to adjust resistance during exercising. The only thing I didn't like was that I have seen the bike console go on by itself quite a few times. This could be the battery problem. I might have to get the adapter. I also went online to buy and did a store pick up to save shipping. ......

After about six weeks of waiting I finally got this bike. I ordered this bike on December 18 of 2011 and was hoping that I could get it right away, because we've hit the rainy season and wasn't able to ride my street bike when I wanted to.

Here in Kauai, it generally rains in the mornings and I like to get in my excercises before the heavy traffic which is generally between 6:30 am and 7:30 am. I have no problem doing that between Late Feb and November of each year.

But when the rains come, the roads gets slick and thus the reason for purchasing this bike. Needless to say I've gained a few pounds and now have to work it off.

I love the bike and it feels very solid and rides smooth. I also looks very professional and something you would find at your local gym. And it WILL give you a good workout.

Have only had it two days and have already logged in 14 miles and 2 hours. Have checked out other recumbent bikes and I'm glad I purchased this one.

I have only ONE complaint and that...
...

2.5 hours to assemble solo. Took my time though. Wasn't as many parts as I anticipated. The bolts which secure the seat back were rather difficult to get into place, as many complained about. I had my 12 year old daughter sit on the seat and press her back against the seat back once I had a few bolts started. That helped, but I still had to force two of them in. The rest of the assembly wasn't really that hard, just time consuming. Didn't find it necessary to use any power tools.

The bike is quiet. You have to grip the heart rate bar just right to obtain accurate readings. Seat adjustment takes some getting use to. Workout options are somewhat limited, but you can just get on and pedal and set your own resistance. Owners manual says you are suppose to unplug the power source everytime you are done using it, or it may shorten the life of the electronics??? There is no on/off switch...you start to pedal to turn it on, and it eventually shuts off by itself when you are done. ...
...

After comparing specs, and riding several different models priced under $300.00, and some that cost a ton more, we settled on the Pro-form 110. The box was smaller than expected, we were able to fit it easily in the back of our suv. We are pleased with the overall size and function this bike has to offer for the price range. It was fairly simple to out together, and we were riding it in no time. The programs are similar, if not identical to the common workouts you get on a high priced gym quality recumbent bike. Unlike some of the other bikes in this price range you are not limited to the workout programs. It has the option to ride and adjust the resistance as needed, the display will still show your laps & mileage, and calories burned. The bike is quite stable, we do experience a bit of "rocking" when working on the top resistance levels, but in no way is it unstable. All of the bikes in this price range did the same "rocking" thing on the higher resistance levels. We found that the...
...

I put it together by myself in a couple of hours, although it could be done faster, I just took my time doing it and making sure I put it together correctly, which pays off in the end. A second person that is handy with tools would have made the job faster, but let me emphasize that the bike is not hard to put together. I suggest that you read the manual and the assembly steps first and then get familiar with each part so it will make it easier to put together.

Unlike another review, there were no broken parts when I removed it from the box.

So far, we have not had any major problems. The only thing we have noticed and this is weird is that the bike will make a popping sound when no one is using it. This happens once an hour or so. I am not sure where on the bike the sound is coming from. I am thinking maybe something is contracting and expanding due to the difference of temperature in our house. In addition, the display comes on by itself and then turns off a few minutes later---again......
