Imports are killing us. about 35 years ago I used to make custom rods. That was years ago and today I couldn't buy a butt and reel seat for what this rod cost me. Shimano has ben a top manfacturer for many years and I positively trust the brand. This rod is perfectly designed, executed and the materals are very good (not the best, most exotic or expensive but hard to beat for durability.). I don't do much deep sea fishing anymore but do piers, bridges, bulkheads and bay salt water fishing and this rod is perfect for fluke, flounder, snappers of all sizes, porgies, weakfish and etc. I plan on pairing it with my Saguaro 7' ML with an Abu-Garcia 5600BCX spooled with 12lb mono. I just can't believe what $40 bought me....

I've never had a rain suit that truly resisted the rain but this super lightweight suit does. The fit is true, even up to 3x. Not a drop of rain got through on a terrible rainstorm on the motorcycle. Worth every penny!

This is a great little fish finder particularly for small boats where you don't want to lug around a huge car battery. Excellent for kayaks, although some modification has to be made for mounting on some. Also great for canoes and small rowboats. Easy to see the fish markers, relatively accurate and very easy to use.

This looks like the one I had. Mine flashed colored lights when I cranked the handle. I need a new one, because mine got messed up in airline transet. But the colored lights still work!

I caught a 5.5 ft. barracuda with it on 6 lb. test.

I have used the 180X for 3 years now, and I think they are great. I wanted another one so I shopped online and found the 180SX for a fantastic price, and purchaced it. The SX is and upgrade. It is a fast retrieve, wide spool, low twist, very reliable-constant stable drag. It is the only spinning rod that is made to pitch if you desire, as the wide spool makes it a snap to feather. I have used this reel with florocarbon, and braid. Casting with this reel is very accurate.

I would recomend this reel to anyone at any ability level.

Ok - got these for my niece and nephew who just moved to a house where the ocean is their backyard. For the price of these fishing poles they were perfect for them being that they are not very experienced just yet. The kit is perfect since it comes with all the essentials for beginners. Got it in the blue and purple. Please note that my personal opinion of these poles are that they are best for beginners only, little ones =), and is not for the regular fishing enthusiast as the pole is very light weight and the line is not for bigger fish (of course). Would definitely purchase for others. Have Fun.
