I've had mine four years. All the good things I agree with. By looking at things, it appears to me that the unit itself is well designed. Put together? that appears to be another story... Most of the issues with this are that it broke. When they worked before they broke people were OK with it. I believe a little quality assurance on the assemly lines could improve customer satisfaction. People appear to like the unit just not how its put together Sears, why don't you contact your subcontractor and indicate you aren't happy with their quality control... This is one where that cheap extended warranty might be worthwhile...
...

pbmiracle says "This air compressor is perfect match of performance and value" about Craftsman 26 gal. Vertical Compressor

I love this air compressor with the accessories. It has met every task that I have thrown at it. My nephew came over with his boat trailer because the lug nuts were rusted on and they would not budge with a lug wrench. With used the impact wrench with the air compressor and they came right off. He couldn't believe how easy I was able to get the lug nuts off after he had struggled so much. The vertical design means it doesn't take up a lot of space in the garage. With its large tank, I am able to inflate the tires on all my vehicles without being plugged in.
...

runner2005 says "Craftsman #15053 Compressor is not durable" about Craftsman 12 volt Air Compressor/Inflator with Digital Tire Pressure Gauge

I do not recommend the Craftsman #15053 12-volt tire compressor/inflator. Mine quit working after owning it for a few years, even though I rarely use it for tires. It is noisy and vibrates excessively. It inflates tires very slowly, even to increase the tire pressure by 2 or 3 pounds. The valve attachment to the tire is hard to operate. The digital pressure readout is very inaccurate, and the general operation of the unit is cumbersome.

When it quit a few days ago, I purchased a Slime Heavy Duty 12-volt inflator to replace it. The Slime unit is much easier to handle, quieter, and increases the tire pressure much faster than the Craftsman unit.
...

yardNgard says "Will that be paper or plastic?" about Craftsman 2-1/2 in. Full Head Galvanized Framing Nails

I purchased a Craftsman Framing Nailer to work on my fencing project. Unfortunately, keeping this nailer supplied with nails became a challenge at the time I was starting my project. None of the local stores had any in stock of the right type (correct angle, length, nail head, coating, etc.). I ended up finally finding these nails online at Sears but couldn't get them at a store. Apparently, there is a bit of a "nail war" shortage going on out there because of import issues, but I won't digress. It came down to using these nails with the plastic retaining strap. I've actually purchased a few boxes of nails all of different lengths.

I found my Craftsman Nailer isn't always so fond of these little gems. Sometimes, but not always, the plastic would jam up in the nailer shoot / guide. The hammer would jam or end up sliding past the nail and just impacting the wood. I would make sure the nail gun had a few drops of lubricant every time I would start up so I'm pretty sure...
...

I really had to crank up the pressure and striking strength on the nailer to get these nails to be fully seated. I was applying these to either 2x4s or 4x4s (Pressure Treated) and couldn't always get them in but that was more a problem with the wood and the nailer and not the nails, I assume.

Many times a bit of the plastic strap would end up...
...

mrbios says "Replace your 1/2 impact for most light-duty jobs using 3/8" skts" about Craftsman 3/8 in. Pistol Grip Impact Wrench

I purchased this impact wrench around 2007 for ~ $70. I a home DIY mechanic that occasionally works on other peoples vehicles. I love this gun because it is light and small and has fantastic power control. Power is decent even below 90 psi. If you want more power the air pressure needs to be cranked up to 135 psi +.

My main complaint is power control when tightening. On the lowest setting it doesn't spin. Reverse works good on all settings. Also, I striped a bolt when tightening because I forgot to check the power and it was on full. It would be better to have a power dial and a second dial for direction. That way you leave it on low and just change direction.

I think the complaints regarding power or control are not justified at this price range. Sure if you spend 3-5x the price of this tool you will get something that is much better. How much power is needed with 3/8" sockets on bolts that are typically 15mm or less. When I work on a car or motorcycle the majority of the......

This compressor is very quiet. It has plenty of stamina for almost any job.I run my air ratchets and air grinder off of this compressor. However, If I could do it over again, I would have bought one from Lowe's. After getting my compressor the local Sears had no fittings to fit the compressor nor my air tools. The warranty from sears is no better than Lowe's and I could have gotten everything there. Also my air hose was cancelled, Which when I went to the local sears they did not have any of the cheaper hoses only the more expensive ones.
...

The Craftsman 12 volt Air Compressor/Inflator, Rechargeable/Cordless, is a must have if you own anything with tires. This unit is light weight, portable, and powerful. This inflator can be run off of a rechargeable battery, household electrical socket, or a vehicle power outlet (12V). It quiet for an aircompressor/inflator. It does not jump all around all over the floor when in use. The nice features include storage for your hose, which is a great length at two feet, storage for the two power supplies, and storage three nozzle adapters which is included with the unit. Another nice feature includes a quick connect/disconnect for the high pressure air hose. There is a built in pressure gauge that is easy to read. If you are not ready for an actual air compressor then this unit is for you. Every home/vehicle owner should invest into a unit like this. This would be perfect for emergencies as it is portable, and does not take forever to inflate something either. Remember...
...

I purchased this 5 gal. compressor inorder to maintain the tire pressure on my bass boat trailer, truck and automobile tires. It works great. Easy to move around and strong enough to use air tools if I so choose. Maybe a good fathers day gift would be an air impact gun so I can rotate my own tires. I travel to bass tournaments and it's very important to maintain the correct tire pressure and this compressor will do the trick. I think adding a hook to hold the hose would be nice. I made one and clamped it to the handle and put velcro on the tire gauge and attached it to the lower handle so it's always there together when needed. The blow gun attachment is great for cleaning my fishing reels and furnace filters.....
