This is a great set of spray guns for the do it your selfer or small shop owner. The guns cover the vast array of gun/ nozzle sizes that most people would need for most projects. I have used it for spraying latex paint (no need to thin the paint), spraying clearcoat wood finishes. The guns clean up easily, although I havee not used any enamel paints yet.
Agreat BUY by anyone's standards....

I recently purchased the Craftsman HVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun. I am using the spray gun to spray clear catalyzed varnish on cherry wood. The gun works great and has an in-line pressure adjustment to control the air pressure. It seems like a good spray gun for the price.
...

It's different from a standard pressure washer in that the spray is a tennis ball sized aerosol jet, it does not offer the overpowering jet of a dedicated pressure washer but you dont need that kind of power to wash your car or truck. I would say the this sprayer is about 75 percent as good as the sprayers at one of those coin operated car washes, considering that you dont have to feed it quarters it is a very good substitute. It does, however, use a lot of air. The people who say it doesnt work must be using an air compressor with a small reserve tank. I would not hesitate to buy another if I were to break this one....

CaptainVood says "a flawed design?" about Campbell Hausfeld HVLP Paint Spray Gun

Let me get this out of the way first. This gun works(worked) really well.

The problem is the cannister lid. The cannister attaches to the gun via a weird flanged nut that cannot be removed. Well, that section of the gun is too fragile. Mine broke after one use. I dropped the gun and it landed wrong, so I suppose it is my fault, but if the mechanism was better built, it would not have broken.

Now for the worst part. You CANNOT buy just a replacement dip tube with the nut on it, you have to buy the entire cannister assembly, which costs about 90% of the price of the entire gun.

So, in summary, it is a really decent gun, and it will serve you well if you are extra careful with the unit. I guess I would say it is not built for heavy duty work, if it can't a single drop from normal working height.

I will likely buy another gun, and just white glove it every time I use it....

This gun has to be connected to at least 100 psi and regulated with the internal regulator, it does not work well on less than that. If the external regulator is used the internal must be maxed. Atomization is not bad for the price though it's not a fast worker with the 1.5 needle if you have to cover a lot of area fast. The cup is on the small side so you have to refill fast and frequent. The breakdown tool has proven to be to weak to get a total break down, but with proper simple cleaning it should not be needed. As stated in other reviews the needle is more all purpose and takes some trial and error to get it right but can be done. Does not work well with heavy viscosity, thinning will be required....

THIS GUN SHOOTS TERRIBLE. MAYBE IST'S THE 1.5 FLUID TIP. IT'S TOO BIG FOR FINISHES AND TOO SMALL FOR PRIMERS. MAYBE IT'S THE WAY IT'S MADE. EITHER WAY, DOESN'T CUT IT....

Not a bad gun for the price. Bought to use on first ever paint project. It was a learning experience. Gun cleaned up easily but impossible to completely break down. Just run thinner though it, soak the cap and cup and wipe down the gun. Not a lifetime tool. Regulator broke after about 10 spray/cleanings and is almost not worth replacing because it costs half the price of the gun. Also, the gun isn't really a low pressure gun; Everything I sprayed needed at LEAST 50psi to atomize the spray and was very hard to not get things to orangepeel....

I purchased this spray gun to attempt my first-ever automotive paint job. I purchased it as an open item with missing parts for half price. Kudos to Sears's super-easy-to-use online parts ordering site (use P/N 919.155310) with complete parts list and diagram. I don't have any experience with other products to which I can compare this one, but I can say it works very well and I was able to achieve impressive results with it. It is also easy to clean and operate....

I paid 40 bucks for this product. It says you have to have to have a minimum 3 hp compressor. I have a twin tank 1hp 4 gal. compressor, it works great. The only down side to the sprayer wond is that it leaks air. That is just going to use some super glue. Just so you no, this product does go on sale for 35 dollars but that is rare for it. Overall, I would reccomend to anyone.
