i purchased this grinder just under two months ago...everything worked great...i ground down a few welds on my camaro and when i tried to get my old motor mounts down to bare metal and paint them, it broke...something was stripped in the angled head of the tool...it would spin in the air but when you get it against something to grind, it wont spin at all with the trigger wide open...still under the 90 day return policy, plus i work at sears, so it was no problem getting it replaced at no cost...hopefully this one works
...

Once again IR comes though on a great piece of equipment with a price that is hard to beat. This is one of IR cheaper lines but still out performs most other brands. All my air tools are now IR and that has come from multiple other brands and IR performance, durabilty, value for price, and quality have kept me coming back to replace others with an IR product. All my air tools get used alot and I haven't had any problems out of any of my IR stuff. Not to mention they have great customer service so that in itself alot of time is worth it for me to pay more but they are still competitively price to other brands....

For the price this is a good do it yourself around home grinder. But for more daily use and larger projects a grinder with more torque and metal housing would be much better. The head on the grinder started coming lose every few days and I would have prefered to have the exhaust exit out the bottom instead of the side of the drill. I found myself always having to turn it every time i moved around.
...

sumowrestler1969 says "Ingersoll-Rand will deny warranty claims" about Ingersoll-Rand Die Grinder Kit

I bought my Ingersoll-Rand Angle DIe Grinder Model #3102 a year and a half ago and have enjoyed using it. It is very versatile and great for my automotive application. Well after a year of taking the utmost care of the tool it failed on me. I oil and grease the tool the same way I oil and grease my snap-ons and my other ingersolls but this isnt what frusterated me. Every once in a while your going to have something fail, its just the nature of life. What frusterated me was that unlike my snap-ons or even my craftsmen tools, Ingersoll only warrantee's their products for a year..... In the tool business.... I was blown away that for paying half the price I could have bought a craftsman and gotten the no questions asked warrantee replacement from them but instead I allowed myself to be sold on Ingersoll and now I'm out another couple hundred to just buy the ****** snap-on I should have bought in the first place. I also just dropped $500 on a 3/8" impact from Ingersoll that I will most likely...
...

I purchased this Craftsman die-grinder #19951 on 11/26/09. With my Craftsman Club discount I paid $52.49, which I felt was a pretty good price.

I was impressed with the looks and feel of the tool but less impressed that it was made in China. I have many items that are made in China and some work well, others don't. I try to keep an open mind when purchasing these items and I did with this as well.

As soon as I got home, I put a few drops of air tool oil in the air inlet and connected my air supply. Imagine my surprise when it spun full throttle without the trigger being depressed! Luckily, I hadn't put a grinding disc in yet so my fingers remain intact.

I disconnected the air supply and gave the tool a couple of light taps on my wooden workbench hoping that whatever was stuck would dislodge. It didn't. Again, it started full throttle when connected to the air supply. This time a let it run by itself for a minute or two and it eventually stopped spinning by itself. Problem solved! Or so...
...

The first time I bought this grinder I used it for about 1-2 hours on the day I bought it. The next day it lasted about 2 minutes. I purchased the warranty so I went and had it replaced. The next one didn't work at all so I went to get my money back. I didn't use to much air pressure and I oiled the tool. I still like craftsman tools, but this grinder has some issues....
