I bought new last year and have replaced the spindle assembly part #192870 thee times. The assembly is built too weak, sure wish the engineers would redesign this part. The local dealer says he has replaced several of these over the last year....

I recieved this mower last year. I have no problems with it, it runs great. My dad bought it for me so I could mow our yard with ease. I help me dad with trees that fall down in our woods. He cuts them up and i tow the trailer full of wood with the mower. Its great for leaf pick up in the fall. I recommend just taking good care of it, wash it after two mows. Also change the oil every year and she will always run like new.

It is really easy for me to unload the grass cuttings on my side rear discharge Craftsman lawn mower. The ease of the lift bar really helps me since I have limited stength in both arms and hands. Don't know how I would keep my yard looking so good with out it.

First use, the clutch cable snapped on me, and the blades would not engage. The engine would die and not restart, it kept cutting out on bumps and small ditches due to the supposed safety features. I had to disconnect the bag switch just to keep from cutting out on hills. Every small bump caused the bag to move off the switch and cut the engine. Anything that it runs over can bump it off the switch. All they need is a longer switch plunger to fix this issue, add another 1/2 inch to it and it would be fine.

I am told by one Sears rep it has a mulcher kit, try and order one, it says not available for this model! Can't put a plow on it, or a trailer. Had the gas cap issue with the dying, Sears shipped a vented cap ( they know it's an issue but still sell it with the non vented caps ), a serviceman showed up and had to repair it using a cable from another tractor! This was brand new by the way, not a return or refurb. It's funny, since it cannot be used with a snow blade that it has headlights...

Engine has plenty of power but vibration is an issue. Transmission is great on flat ground but is terrible on slopes. Hi-lift blades leaves certain tall slender grasses. The one plus is this mower has a tighter than normal turning radius. If I had to do it over I would spend $700 bucks more and try a **********.

This mower is probably more than I need, but I could not pass it up due to the price. Let's just say I paid a good bit less than the "sale" price online. It's worth waiting until the end of the season. Great even cutting- 4 guage wheels are better than 2; hydrostatic is definelty the way to go- fairly smooth. A few things I've noticed- once in forward motion then moved to neutral it tends to drift forward. Will need to get used to NOT mowing in reverse- although it is capable. Cut my mowing time by ~30% from previous rider (32" single blade). Came with mulching blade, but no plate for deck! This has created problems. Initial issues: Dented hood was replaced as requested (Thank you Sears), but was attached incorrectly. Also, the belt for the blade engagement needed major adjusting. Did it myself- not too happy- thus the 4 out of 5. Uses less gas than anticipated. Still need a bagger (too much $$) and perhaps a plow & cart next year. Overall- recommended!

Have read cons about.

Gas level not visable thru site area ( if you can not tell It is either milk jug white EMPTY

OR more yellowed looking with fuel.

I THINK it is a 2 or 3 gallon tank. if it looks more like the color of an emty milk-jug add a gal then look at it, you should be able to see the color difference.And now you know you have a gal you might want to mark it with a perminate marker.

Vibration mine is SMOOTH and Fairly Quiet! our old-( Still Working ) 1980 12 1/2 horse V-TWIN Has always been louder compared to this one. at 24 horse

IF yours vibrates you might want to check your blades to make sure they are not bent or loose.

HOOD Metal too thin NO Not for what it is designed to do.If it bounces etc slow down over rougher terrain and or take care and smooth the area out . REMEMBER THIS IS a Yard Tractor not a Farm Tractor

In 2003 I purchased a 18.5 hp 36" automatic ride on from Sears. I've had pretty good luck with it until this year when the transmission failed. Fortunately I had an extended warranty and Sears replaced the transmission. While waiting for the parts and repair on that I decided to buy a new one and use the old one for a spare. I chose the YT4000. I had read the reviews about the vibration but figured, "How bad can it be?" When I used the tractor for the first time I noticed it right away. It's not constant but it IS annoying! Also the metal on the hood is so thin (compared to the 2003 model) that the hood bounces up and down and sideways when going over bumps and divots in the lawn. There are now wear marks from all the movement, where the hood lays on the chassis.

The "hours" gauge hasn't worked since day one and also the gas gauge. I filled it up and couldn't see the level through the plastic.

The turning radius is great and the mower does do a nice job on the lawn but...

Overall Good. s/b 3 1/2 stars. I did not have any of the issues about the bagging or gas cap or stalling. The dumping is pretty cool. As long as you make sure it is centered correctly the switch on the bag is not a problem. I must say it is a bit loud on the exhaust though. Maybe there is a quieter muffler on the market. For a 17.5 hp, it seems that reverse is poor when backing up on inclines...not powerful enough. I also was misled with tractor attachments and being able to mulch by a salesmen at the stores I visited... I blame myself on not checking into it further. Did not notice that information until I put gas in the second time. There is a decal inside the hood near the headlights. The mower should go a tad faster forward and reverse a little more power-full on inclines. Very pleased with turning radius and size of the mower. Especailly for the yard I am using with. Very pleased with the mower overall. Please send feedback if there is any advice on some of these issues....

Surprised at all the value...great turning radius...handlling was great. Previous mower didn't have hydrostatic..wouldn't do without again. Engine was smooth and quick starting. No problem with choke at full throttle. Bumper and bag system easy to install. DISAPPOINTMENT....No mulch cover with deck. I will attempt to develop on using the lower bagging tube.

I bought this lawn tractor in late July after months of shopping around and I cannot be happier with the purchase. This a great mower with all the features I needed. The only feature it does not have as compared with ********** and Cub Cadet models I looked at is the "deck wash" feature. I was able to purchase this tractor during a one-day sale in which I got 10% off, plus was able to get an additional $25.00 off with an on-line coupon printed off the Sear's website, and then I put the purchase on my Sears card with no interest until Feb. 2010. So in the end the final purchase price after discounts and tax was $1709.31 and I'll pay it off well before Feb. 2010.

I have used this mower many times since the purchase mowing just under 1/2 acre each time. The turning radius is good and the big fuel tank allows multiple mowings between fill ups. The 3 mowing blades on this Husqvarna are a big advantage over the Cub Cadet comparable model with only 2 blades, plus the Cub mowing deck was only 46...

This 30 inch, side rear discharge mower is destined to be in the same class that the ledgendary Craftsman hand tools enjoy. It's comfortable riding and mows just the way the ads say. My lot is about 1/2 acre, pretty much level, and only a few trees with a couple of raised rose beds to mow around. I purchased it this summer and have had NO problems with it. I'm a dedicated mulcher, so puchasing the mulching kit ( for about 40 clams ) was a must, and installing it was a snap - 15 minutes at most. Be advised this machine does not come with the wash out port. Its extra for about 20 bucks, but the mounting holes are there and is easy to install. Because of the short distance between the deck and frame, I purchased a standard 6 ft. wash machine fill hose with a 90 degree hose fittng on one end for cleaning. Works great. Can't comment on the bagging, so I just leave it mounted to the mower. It's easy to maneuver through my small gates. The gas tank should be larger capacity, but its...

I have used this tractor twice now on my 1 1/2 acre yard, and am very impressed with its performance. Great power, turns tight, comfortable seat, easy controls and handling, and not jumpy like my old tractor. I looked at several higher end name brands, and this one appeared to be the best value. I installed the deck myself because of transportation issues, and it went on easy. I am looking forward to using a snow blower attachment. I am told that goes on easier. I highly recommend this tractor....
