I rarely use Reader, now that Apple's built-in Preview application is so quick and has so many features.
...

ddupmul says "If only all cars were this quiet!" about Toyota Prius - 2005

Everyone that I talked to when I first bought my Prius asked me if I thought it was dangerous to drive such a quiet car. The first time someone asked me that, I was taken aback, but the next time someone did, I asked them back "Wouldn't it be nice if all cars were this quiet?" Think of the city traffic that would be quieter! If everyone drove hybrid vehicles and then someone invented the V8, there would be an uproar from people about noise pollution!

Speaking of pollution, the Prius does not pollute nearly as much as a gasoline vehicle. At least in California, that means that the Prius is exempt from smog checks!
...

ddupmul says "Simply amazing!" about Apple - iPod Nano 3G Product Red Edition Media Player

I got my wife one of these when she got good grades in law school. She used it every day on the train in the Fall of '07 and loved it. The screen size is small, but the resolution makes up for it and the video is easy to watch.

The only thing that my wife doesn't like about it is that some of my music keeps getting on it :-)

ddupmul says "So good, I bought two!" about Apple Mac Mini desktop computer

I got the Intel Mac Mini as a birthday present when it first came out with the Intel processor. I use it for everything. It's great because it is sooooo quiet (it replaced a noisy PowerMac G4), and yet has the power to handle lots of concurrent tasks.

I recently purchased a second one, that I use for a media computer connected to our TV. We're currently living in an area without much TV service, but I can podcast my favorite programs to fill in the void. It comes with Front Row software (all Macs do) and a remote, so it's easy to setup. All I needed was a DVI to video adaptor from Apple ($19.95) and I've got a media machine!

It does run a little hot when in it's normal position, but it easily stands on it's side and stays plenty cool, even here in the Caribbean.
...

ddupmul says "Great to view your digital photos too" about Apple - TV (Home Theater)

I got one of these for my in-laws, and one for my parents. Neither of them are tech-savvy, but both enjoy their Apple TVs very much. They don't use their Apple TV to watch movies, podcasts or listen to music. Instead, they both use it to watch their vast libraries of digital (or scanned) photos on their TV. My in-laws have a large iPhoto library and my parents have a large directory structure on their hard drive with photos. Both work well when watching the photos. It's turned their new 42" LCD TVs (both got new ones in the last year) into large "slide show viewers".

ddupmul says "Nice little camera with a very wide angle lens." about Panasonic - Lumix DMC-FX01

I bought my Lumix DMC-FX01 over a year ago, and I have not regretted it. The best thing about it is that it has a Leica DC Vario-Element wide angle lens. It's the equivalent of a 28 mm lens for a 35 mm camera. Normal digital cameras have the equivalent of a 38 or 40mm lens. This means that you can get more into the shot if you want. You can always zoom in a bit to get it back to 40mm. I saw that Leica sells the same camera under the Leica name, but that one costs $$$$$.
...
