I'm unsure how effective the UV-C light is no way to really know knowing they use them in hospitals they must do something. But this product is junk. In less then 12 hours I noticed the fan wasn't working I had it set on high and it stopped. I fiddled with it for a fwe and got it to come back on the speed contorl switch ******* out on the high and low side. once i got it back on it seemd noticably louder with a grinding noise that wasn't there when i turned it on at first. Now I have to pay to ship it back because the Sears stores will not return it to a local store like ****** allows. also the 2 ribs in the middle where the light is shown is extremly bright for a bedroom and someone sensitive to that sorta thing...JUNK and i have to pay to ship it back...
...
