August 21, 2007 oven overheated while baking a cake.  Cake was placed on middle rack with an aluminum cookie sheet placed on the rack below.</p><p>Over heating caused the cookie shee to <strong>MELT and DRIP ONTO THE BOTTOM OF THE OVEN  WHERE IT FUSED TO THE METAL </strong>of the oven bottom causing smoke and a strong odor.  Repair service agents used their meters checked the stove and said there was NO problem.  I pursued this further with Customer Service but without success. I cannot bake in this oven; cakes, breads brown and cook on top ... but the insides are raw.  </p><p>The top burners are now turning dark black in the center of the burners.</p><p>The stove is definitely defective but Sears even after several phone calls and visits to the store, refused to offer any  resolution.  I've been a customer of Sears of over 35 years and have never experience such poor service.  Sears is no longer...</p>...
