lesvdavis says "Great Oster Fusion Blender with 1 Defect" about Oster Fusion Blender

This is a wonderful, easy to use blender that is almost perfect for our needs. It's super-powerful motor chops, blends and dissolves ice better than I had hoped for. Preprogrammed buttons makes it easy to use and it shuts off automatically after the selected task is done. It makes wonderful smoothies.

I would have given it five stars except that the small rubber ingredient fill plug is lose on the lid and has to be held down to avoid leaks.

Annother problem was KMart's slow shipping, which took a full week to get there.
...

lesvdavis says "Too much trouble given the difficulty redeeming the coupons" about Sign up for Sears' e-mails and get $10 off

Sears marketing people offered us a "Free" $10 coupon for signing up for its promotional e-mails. So I figured "Why not?" I was interested in Sears' ads. It seemed like a very clever promotion -- at first!

After I went to the trouble and inconvenience of signing up and opening my e-mail address to Sears, they did not give me a $10 coupon that I could use either in Sears stores or online for any purchase. They give me one $5 coupon to use in the store and one to use on line. Although the advertised headline was "get a $10 coupon, for signing up for Sears e-mails" you only learn latter that you get 2 $5 coupons.

And there are even more strings attached. I had to spend $50 or more to use each coupon. So if you spend $100 or more in one place, store or online, you can only use one $5 coupon.

If that isn't enough, when I went to the store, the Sales people refused to take even the in-store one. I Made a purchase of over $1,000.00, and the sales people refused to take even the...
...

lesvdavis says "Canon SD 600 is the best camera I have ever owned!" about Canon SD 600

I had been using two high-quality Canon manual focus SLRs and separate lenses until my vision deteriorated about three years ago. As a professional photojournalist, I have had my pictures published often in big-city newspapers and major magazines around the world. When my vision deteriorated, I purchased the Canon PowerShot SD 600 thinking that it's small size, light weight and autofocus would come in handy. However I never expected it to replace my SLRs -- especially at so little cost. For the past three years, I have found that the Canon SD 600 handles every task I have thrown at it. Now I am not saying that it is equal to my SLRs for poster-size enlargements or that it will do studio type portraits. Of course it is not. However it has done everything else superbly. And digital photography sure has its advantages over film. I recommend the Canon SD 600 highly.
...

lesvdavis says "Lots of information, but with bugs that do not get fixed quickly" about MySears Community Website

Both sears.com and mysears.com provide an abundant source of useful product information to help the customers decide on what to buy from Sears. Visiting your local store after doing careful research -- especially when buying an expensive and complex product such as a major appliance -- makes it easier for both the customer and the sales person.

However, the product reviews on the sears.com product pages apparently are frequently being turned off for maintenance and upgrades after midnight. So Sears thoughtfully also posts these reviews on mysears.com. On Sears.com when you click on the read reviews link, and it happens to be working, you get reviews for the brand and model you are looking for on the product page. Unfortunately, reviews on mysears.com, make no reference brand, model number, item number, etc. Therefore the reviews that appear as "Freestanding 30-inch electric range" could refer to a hundred different models. Plus since no brand, model and item number information is listed,...
...
