montana12345 says "I would not recommend this range!" about Kenmore Elite 30" Freestanding Electric Range 9747

We purchased this range two years ago. (It has a different model number, but the features and look are the same). We just had Sears repair out and it is going to be $400 to repair the ERC panel that was fried. I maybe used the oven on this range once a week and I am disgusted at the poor quality of this product. Based on all that I had read, if you are comfortable wtih the quality of the product than an extended warranty is not necessary. We gambled thinking Kenmore Elite would be a quality product and lost!

We bought this product because we loved the look of it and it coordinated with the other Kenmore elite appliances we bought. I still love the look of it, but as for function, it is awful. In addition to the obvious repair issues we are having, the oven takes forever to heat up and there are vents at the top of the door that if you spill something down it (like I did), it is forever in between the two panes of glass on the window.

I would not recommend this product. ...
...
