My family uses a 15 yr old Rainbow SE, not the current model.

My Great Aunt had an ancient Rainbow back in the 60's. She passed away in the mid 70's, but another family member still uses that old Rainbow and it works perfectly.

15 years ago, we moved into our brand new house. Within 3 months, I was convinced our builder had used cheap carpet that already needed to be replaced. Just by chance, I had dropped my name off at the Rainbow display at a local home show, and when the salesman called, we invited him over. I vacuumed my carpet 3 times before he arrived, and I was horrified when I saw what else he was able to pick up with this amazing machine. I didn't let him leave with it!

After 15 years, with reasonable and regular maintainence, our Rainbow SE is still the ONE. We have used it to shampoo carpets, clean stairs, freshen the air in the house, and even used it to clean up a rental house. Many of our friends borrow it for similar purposes. I looked at this Miter Saw stand a couple of years ago, but couldn't bring myself to pay full price for it, so I went with a less expensive Craftsman product. Big mistake! This is a sturdy, useful, and adaptable stand that doesn't wobble, assembles easy, and can handle multiple tools. It comes with a 4 plug outlet, light, a cubby hole for tape measure and pencils, plus it has a couple of small legs to hold lumber.

Why did I buy it now after purchasing another one a few years ago? Well, the Craftsman was flimsy, the legs didn't lock they there were supposed too, it wasn't at a good height, AND, it was finally on sale for $150 under retail.

My only suggestion for improvement is with the manual. There is absolutely no mention in the assembly instructions about putting the wheels and handle on this stand. I could see the wheels, axle and handle in the box, but nope, not in the instructions. There are pictures with the wheels and handles attached, but no instructions. I was......

My Sears store is at the Chapel Hills Mall. I can always find helpful service in Tool & Appliances, and their photo studio is pretty awesome. The rest of the store.....I couldn't tell ya! I know there's a downstairs, but I don't think I've ever ventured down there....
