penneypincher says "Not as money saving as I was led to believe" about Bosch 4.0 cu. ft. IEC Washer w/ XXtraSanitary (NSF)

I bought this washer & dryer about a year ago thinking it would cost less to run and save water. Neither of these has happened. The washer claims 15 cycles which is a joke. Different temperatures are considered cycles. You can't set the temperature you want because everything is preset. Cycles are way too long averaging an hour or more each. Only way to use cold water is run the cold "cycle" for an hour. The shorter quick wash is 25 minutes long & uses only warm water. Having an electric water heater this washer has ended up costing me more than my old top loader and I haven't seen any difference in my water bill. For whites I have to use the kids or xx-sanitary wash which both run 1 1/2 - 2 hours because the regular hot cycle does not remove stains. The whites do come out very clean but they did in my top loader too just by soaking overnight at much less cost. I have to say I am disappointed and would not buy this again.
...
