We needed a portable "fold-up" saw and knowing that Bosch had a good reputation, purchased this saw. When we first used it, we noticed an excessive amount of sawdust coming out everywhere, even with the dust collection bag attached. I have never seen so much sawdust blasting out of a saw from the top of the blade to the front, all over the inside of the housing, in the air, covering the user from head to toe! The floor around the table gets covered with dust and after several hours of cutting, the dust collection bag has only 5 to 10% of collected dust within. We have attached a shop-vac to it which does help. The direct drive is great, the saw is quiet and is easy to adjust. Settings remain constant and the collapsible table works as it should making it easy to transport....

I purchased this saw about 2 months ago after many hours of online research and trips to places to check out different saws in person. This is my first table saw so I didn't have a basis for what I needed from a table saw and I dont have much of a comparison for the saw now, but I can say I bought this considerably more expensive saw and I never looked back or thought I should have spent the extra money on a project and got a cheaper saw.

This saw went together easily and was ready to use in about 2 hours after checking all the adjustments. The gravity stand works great for storing it when not in use and it makes it incredibly easy for one person to move it. The saw has cut everything I've thrown at it up to date with no hesitation and the soft start is nice little bonus. I dont have any dust control for it yet but its kinda cool walking around a floor covered in saw dust which im sure will get old soon having to clean it up so a bag would be a good idea.

Online most other saws had split......

If you don't have room for a cabinet saw, but still want a capable machine, this is the saw for you.

The saw its self is great. The motor is quiet and powerful, and the soft start and electronic motor control really does help when cutting heavier materials. The rip fence is accurate and incredibly easy to use. The table extensions let you rip a little more than 24". The saw came set up pretty close to dead on from the factory, though I did have to tweak the riving knives. The dust collection port on the back works great when hooked up to a shop vac. The blade removal and installation process is simple and quick.

The stand puts this saw in a league of it's own. Even if you don't want the Bosch saw, get the stand. The pneumatic tires let it roll like a dream. Going up and down stairs is easy too due to the shape of the legs (Think furniture dolly). Raising and lowering the stand couldn't be simpler. It's almost like magic. I've seldom been impressed by anything as much as I am with this......

I recently bought my Bosch 4000-09 and have been extremely happy. The blade guard is one of my favorite features since it rides with the blade asembly and is a great design, so I'm actually keeping it on unlike the past saws I've used. The fence is great with only very slight flex if you push hard laterally on it to test it to its extremes, but would never budge or flex under any woodworking.

Like every other reviewer says, the fold-up stand is awesome, especially for someone who works out of their garage. The table itself is surprisingly large. I also apreciate that its not as loud as my past saws. I also purchased the dust collection bag and outfeed extension, which both work, although I had to exchange the extension because the threads stripped while installing it. But while the accessories might have weeknesses, the saw itself has been both precise and accurate, reliable, and a joy to use....

In all fairness, this is my first table saw so I can't compare it to the others. But I have done extensive research to determine the best portable table saw. The Bosch 4000 was a top choice for most people. So, I decided to buy & try. My research paid-off. This saw is excellent! The rip fence is accurate. It doesn't lack power. The mitre gauge had convenient "stops" to quickly get to 45 & 90 degree postions. The dust exhaust port makes for an almost dust-free cut when used with an optional dust collection bag. Although I took the time to check all accuracy of all the settings in accordance with the manual, like another reviewer's experience, this saw came ready to cut right out of the box....

First to proove how great this saw is I must state that I am a WOMAN! I put this saw together myself, complete, within 45 minutes -- EASY! All factory adjustments were on the mark. The folding table/dolly is amazing! I can fold/unfold this thing by myself, move it anywhere. This saw is also extremely quite. I do real woodworking and I am not afraid or shy to use my tools. I make them do things they were not meant to do and this one is remarkable. The expanding fence is terrific and the blade cut through 2 inch thick wood like butter. It is very stable, and virtually no vibration. I do not hook a vaccuum system to my saw, so I had a problem with chips and dust trying to jam the blade. But I removed the lower plastic blade guard so that the dust and chips could fall down, and away from the blade -- problem solved. If any other ladies out there have a desire to attempt woodworking, this saw is a great tool to begin! Well worth the money. It is great to finally find a tool that......

First I will tell you the negatives, oh thats right, there arent any.
Right out of the box I checked all the settings that you would have to do to fine tune your table saw and found everyone of them to be perfect right from the factory, blade, fence kick back mechanism, etc. It took me all of an hour and a half to assemble, including double checking all the settings ( and i work slow). there is no visable blade wobble, very smooth for a 110 pound tablesaw and its so easy to move wherever you want to even up 20 stairs. Motor powers through even the hardest woods with power to spare. I have been a craftsmen guy for over 30 years but they just dont make them like this for the money. this saw will satisfy the beginer or the avid woodsman. you wont be disappointed with this saw....
