RyanCNAVY says "Great for P90X......a little bit bulky." about Bowflex Selecttech 552 Dumbbells

I purchased these along with the stand mainly to use during P90x workouts.

The build quality of the dumbbells is excellent and I have no complaints so far, the plates make very little noise and hardly move while using them....which is not neccesarily true with other adjustable dumbbells.

They are fairly large and that can make some excersizes feel awkward, they still work though you just have to get used to the size. I won't fault them too much for that though because I had tried them prior to purchasing and realized that.

I would definitely recommend purchasing the stand along with these because it makes using them so much easier, I definitely wouldn't want to lift them off the floor every time and have to bend over to adjust the weight.

Also look for a deal, I managed to get the dumbbells and stand for less than the retail of the dumbbells.....I probably would not have purchased them at full retail but for what I paid I give them 5 stars.
...

Purchased the Bowflex dumbells last year. I use them 3 to 5 times a week and they continue to perform flawlessly. Great product...kinda pricey though...but worth the dough.
...

mrpeacock says "Ease of use, flexability, GREAT price" about Bowflex Selecttech 552 Dumbbells

Some people may say that the BowFlex SelecTech 552 set is expensive and it is, but try comparing it to other weight sets. A full set of regular dumbells will cost you a small fortune and as for those other adjustable weight sets, forget about it! The BowFlex weights are VERY easy to change from one weight to another (something other sets can't claim) and they go back into the weight reciever without any hastle (also something other sets can't claim). My wife and I are doing P90X and this set has been great since I would have already had to purchase at least 6 different weight sets. This means the BowFlex weights have already paid for themselves AND saved me money! I do wish the stand was included. Its WAY too expensive on its own.
...

Purchased Bowflex Selecttech 552 Dumbbells in June 2009...this is great for grabbing quick / light workouts in-between workout days at the gym! One of the best purchases I've made in a long time...benefits are a result of the convenience and ease when grabbing sets.
...

Anonymous says "Very NICE!!!" about Bowflex Selecttech 552 Dumbbells

I only give this product a 5 star if you have the stand to go with it, otherwise a 4 star with out it due to lack of conveinence. You must place weights back in tray a very specific way and could be difficult with out the stand since you must bend all the way down. Very good product. No sticking of plates and very quite. Even weight distribution and great quality....

I caught them on sale and glad I got them. Definite timesaver when switching weights, and the ability to select weights at 2.5 lb interims is really nice. They are a tad longer than the average dumbbell, not a bad thing...just feels different when doing some exercises....

Very good product. Each version has improved! I've been using these weights for a couple months now. Great for in-home workouts! Changing weights is quick, easy & effortless. I would recommend getting a stand for these weights. However, cost for the Bowflex stands are ridiculous. I'm still trying to work out a solution, other than having weights on the floor. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product!
...

InvestmentSeeker says "Pricey, but worth it" about Bowflex Selecttech 552 Dumbbells

I was in need for a home gym solution, with no room (nor pocketbook) for a full blown free weight set. Having to raise 2 daughters alone, going to a local gym was out of the question. The Bowflex 552s were the perfect solution. Compact, easy to change weight by a twist of the wrist, and the perfect weight range (I'm too old now to be bulking up anymore). The only downfall would be the price. It took a lot to force myself to buy it at $450, but I'm a believer in investments. Combined with my weight bench and a treadmill, I need absolutely nothing more now. So, if you're tight on space and time, open up the pocketbook and grab these guys....
