This camera is small enough to put in a small case, but takes great pictures, whether you take at a distance or zoom in. Our cats are so used to us with our camera, they pose for us!
...

couponchic says "The Canon Powershot is a nice little camera" about Canon - PowerShot A570 IS

I have owned my Canon Powershot for a few years and am overall happy with it. It is the perfect size to throw in your bag for those moments that you just have to take a picture, you parents understand. It has many options when it comes to the type of picture you want to take: portrait, low light, landscape..but I find myself leaving it set on one mode for all my pictures. The screen is a generous size and shows a very clear picture. The video mode is nice but I have found that when playing the video back on the computer or TV it is blurry so it wouldn't be what you would want to use if recording a special moment. Once you have taken a video or picture you can edit right on the camera which I love. My biggest complaint about this camera is that the zoom isn't all that great. For close pictures is works fine but for pictures more than a few feet away it is not ideal. For the price and the brand I think it is a good deal.
...

jxu says "Love the AA batteries and IS technology" about Canon - PowerShot A570 IS

Yes, it does make the camera about 50% bigger but I love the fact that it's powered by AA batteries and not lithium-ion. If you use rechargeable batteries, it'll last you a good amount of time. I travel to foreign countries a lot, so I find it much more convenient to just buy AA batteries than to find a power converter and carry a charger around.

I also take a lot of nighttime pictures and I hate harsh flashes, so the IS technology is great. It's not perfect (still a lot of blurry pictures), but a must-have feature.
...

PCAddict says "One of the best entry level point and shoots you can get." about Canon - PowerShot A570 IS

This has 7.1 MP and is one of the best entry level point and shoots your money can buy. It uses AA batteries and a SD memory card. Because of the battery chamber, you have a nice little grip handle which a lot of cameras don't have, making it easy to put fingers in front of the flash or lens. It also has IS (image stabilization) which really adds to the quality of your shots and allows for less rejected pics. I noticed it can be a little slow on flash recylcing but it's not a huge inconvenience as long as you are not in a hurry to get that next special shot. The colors are more accurate to natural colors rather than overcompensating which makes it nice. IF you want richer color or contrast, you can always use PSP or Corel, both of which I use depending on my preferences for the project at hand. It does better than a lot of models out there on the 1600 ISO which is one of the reasons I bought this model. I would suggest a 1 or 2 GB SD card if you want to use the movie mode...
...
