I still have to have the waist in some pants altered because its too big but she needs the hip space. Anyway the style for most girls clothing right now is for "hip huggers", everything fits right on the hip not the waist. This is not a big problem so much with these jeans, they fit a bit higher although not right at the waist. The style is in sink with other popular clothing, the pocket design closely resembles jeans she has from LM2 but the fit is better! The denim is a good quality as well.... My daughter is pretty tall for her age and her stature is "big boned". She has forever had an hour glass shape which makes it very hard to find clothing that will fit all areas-especially in the younger age group. These jeans fit her very well and the flare is pretty slight and flattering to the leg. The material is comfortable and washes well. What surprised me is the generous waist. You might need to buy a size smaller than you are used to since these seem to be a "relaxed" type of fit-especially in the waist area. Or better yet, if you have a Sears near you, try a pair in the store for fit and then you will know exactly how the fit works as far as size goes.... She is a plus size and so, I thought that they would be non flare style like the other regular sizes. WRONG!!!! They were flared and my daughter hates flared pants. The description on the order sheet is different than the one they sent out. Also, the pants material is stretchy, not true pants material. Also, I would warn you, certain SEARS locations don't take back jeans purchased in their stores or online. Doesn't matter what the warranty says (CRAFTSMAN) jeans. So, make an educated choice before making a purchase.... She does not like low rise or flare jeans. The only problem I had was in the sizing. I went by the sizing chart, but the jean size that was recommended was two sizes too big. Would recommend ordering at least one size smaller than size chart recommends. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the jeans and plan on ordering more....
