This tool is not the most robust item on the market, but it fills a niche and I use it when other tools don't fill the bill. It is flexible for round items, getting into spindles and situations where you are going to have a mix of surfaces to deal with. It is easy to use, ergonomic to hold and does a job that no other tool does as well.
It's major shortcoming is the lack of robustness of the flexible attachment points where the sanding disk are attached. The disks can pop off too easily in my opinion. They pop back on, but it can be a nuisance and they do wear. But still, it fills a niche and I use it and recommend it....

I think that the floating heads is the greatest idea for my work on gourds. The biggest problem with the sander is the sanding disk heads fall off when sanding. It is very aggravating when you have to stop turn off the machine and replace the head before starting again....

I used the sander shortly after I bought it and found that it did an excellent job on the project that I was working on. So far that is all I have used it for but I will soon be starting a big job of refinishing 12 Oak Chairs for our Dining room and can't wait to see the results....

Sander was a new item years ago and I think Black and Decker made it or one similar to it. It was 9 bucks around the holidays so I bought one. With shipping it was about 17. No one has the disks for it and it is hitting the trash unopened and unused....

I've have this sander for over a year and it still works great. It's not only quiet, it sands good. I even waxed my boat with it's buffer pads. And yes, I can still find the sanding disk (but, only in stores, not online )....

I bought this sander to be used on a table project next spring. After recieving this thing and givin it a few trips around the block and kicks of the tires I've found it useless. Too slow and lets not even mention u can't get sand paper for it without buyin paper for the mouse/detail sander and makin your own disk....

but if you're working on something small that doesn't need much sanding it works pretty good. I've had to make my own disks because they're hard to find. The wheels are hard to keep on and once you've knocked one off it won't stay on. Paid $24 for mine, if they had been $9 I'd have bought 2 so I'd have spare parts.
I have a shop full of Craftsman tools and this one shouldn't have the name on it, maybe it should have the KaMe-pART name instead....

This is the second 3 D Sander that I've owned.. When it works.. it's great.
However, don't drop this sander on the ground. Something happens to it and the RPM drops to an idle and will not pick up speed, ever. At the idle speed, the housing heats up and stops. you have to wait till it cools down to operate it again....
