I bought this on sale and it did what it was intended to do, cut lumber to size and it did just that.

I was building a stand to wax skis and snowboard and it came out perfectly. What took the longest was putting the stand together. This was very tedious and took almost an hour to put together because it came with a bazillion nuts and bolts. After that I took out a combo square and made sure all the alignments was correct. The laser uses batteries instead of the supplied power. Just thought this was weird. I ended up not using the laser too much and went old school by pushing the blade down to see where it was going to cut before I started cutting.

Other than that I'm very happy with the purchase and can't wait to use it for my next build project.
...

Cutting 2X4s, 4X4s, 1X4s, and 1X6s for a privacy fence overhaul. Cuts wood quickly, cleanly, and smoothly. No kickback. No hesitation. Stand and platform are sturdy and easily portable. Works so well my son-in-law bought one. Exceptional value....

For me, portability and compact size are essential. I chose this package because of the good reviews for the saw and the stand n' stow feature.
Although the stand may be plastic, it is strong and durable enough for just about anything. The saw was incredibly precise out-of-the-box. No more than a 1/64th off. And, if alignment issues arise in the future, the necessary tools for fixing them are included. (The laser adjustment wrench is also included).

Before you purchase this though, ask yourself this question: What is the width of lumber (or trim/molding) for the majority of my cuts? This saw will cut a 2x6 at a 90 degree angle, but will not clear it in one pass when beveled. If you will be making cuts over 6" inches wide, you should consider the 12" miter saw or one of the sliding miters. It should be noted, however, cutting twice on this saw (I had to do this a few times on some 10 in. pine) is fairly easy. Minimal sanding was required on one of the cuts.

My only other gripe is the length......

After getting everything out of the box and laid out on the garage floor I was surprised at the number of parts (in a good way). There were some "extras" that are not discussed in the description of the item that make an even better value than I first anticipated. Putting it together took minor effort and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I have used the saw only a few times, but it works very well. The laser is nice and the cuts are clean....

This unit needed to be assembled , but it was very easy, which as a woman I find refreshing. Just follow the instructions step by step. The only confusion ws installing the extensions, so, when putting on the extensions, put the clamp bracket screws into the brackets first and hold them in place on the underside of the saw, then insert the extensions and you'll beable to screw them in snugly. When I checked the accuracy of the fence , blade, and laser they were dead on! UNLIKE the cheaper model #21229 (don't buy that one!, you'll regret it as I did. and will be replacing molding becuase nothing is callibrated correctly) This unit cut like butter , was fairly quiet and the cut was extremely smooth and perfect. It also has the feature of removing the legs and storing them in the stand top, and also a sliding fence for greater control. I would recommend this to everyone who is a DIY'er and seeks perfection as I do. With an entire house to put base and crown molding up, my project will be easy,......

After years of TYRING to cut straight edges with a skill saw and a old table saw, I just had to get my own Mitre Saw. The stand makes it so easy to work. If your like me I use my garage as a work shop and after I still like to get my Yukon back in it's spot at night. So now those jobs around the house will be a lot easier....

This has got to be one of better saws I have ever bought! The laser features is really cool although it is mounted to the blade and not the back of the saw. Don't know how long that will work but I did buy a protection agreement on it so no worries. Me and my son have been tearing through some long overdue projects bcuz of this new toy! The collapsible legs are really great and store into the table of the saw! Thats one picture they should show you. I guess they kinda do on picture 6 where the guy is carrying it, but it is hard to see. You can't go wrong on this saw, and it's a Craftsman so no worries!...
