Thus is my first riding mower I have ever purchased. I wanted one with a Kohler motor and decided on this model,It has worked great so far, only thing I wish it had come with is the digital hour meter. I installed one along with a front bumper. Tractor is comfortable to drive and gets the job done.....now if it would only rain here in West Texas I might have something to mow.. ):

PS I love the bright red color too!!...

MowingGod says "Craftsman 20HP 42in. 6 Speed" about Craftsman 20 hp 42 in. Deck Yard Tractor

I bought the tractor on 2-11-09. And so far so good. The reasons I bought it is because...

1. It has a powerful Kohler engine ( Which better is than better than B&S by a long shot )
2. It has a 42in. twin blade cutting deck with the 4 gauge wheels which are very helpful from scalping the yard.
3. It has a 6 speed which is better than a hydrostatic because they have to many problems so why pay a extra $200.

This Tractor is very powerful. We have 2 1/2 acres to mow but the front is the worst. I can cut grass a foot high without bogging it down and cut every bit of it. I bought a double bar bumber for it about a week ago and it only took about 2 minutes to put it on.

This is the second Crafsman mower we have ever had and the first was a 12 1/2HP and it lasted a long time. I hope its the same with this one. And when it finally breaks down I'm gon'a get me another one.

This is a great mower, and I will coninue to buy stuff from Sears as long as I can....

I`ve been a customer of sears for many years, everything from clothing to yard equipment. The mower I just ordered from Sears is the GT5000 with the 6speed tranmission. I`m goingto keep the previous LT1000 I bought new in 1998, it still runs good and mows great, and I mow 4.5acres of rough, hilly ground. Due to back injuries and a recent surgery I wanted a little heavier tractor to not only mow but to help with other ground engaging equipment. I found that if you grease, clean the deck right after use,and blow or wash the tractor after use it will do the work you want it to do with no or very little trouble at all....

I purchased this lawn tractor for $1200 plus free delivery. This tractor has enough power to go up hills of a 25 degree slope without the tires tearing up the yard. It is also powerful enough to shoot leaves and grass clipping over 10 feet in case you are trying to blow the leaves into flower beds. Runs very quiet. My yard use to take me over 2 hours to push mow and rake the Oak leaves now it takes me 15 to 20 minutes. The tractor also has a feature to mow in reverse for tight spots or blowing the levees into piles and the leveling wheels really do help keeping it from scalping.I can not wait for the grass to turn green and start growing to mow every week!...

ES2728 says "42"Lawn Tractor W/Kohler 20 h.p." about Craftsman 20 hp 42 in. Deck Yard Tractor

I purchased this lawn tractor in October 2008. The end of the season price discount was really great ($1799 to $1080) for the lawn tractor. I've used it for the first time today (Dec. 27, 2008) & it seems to be a great mower with plenty of power. The bagging system for leaves & pine straw has worked out great. No problem at all with the bagger chute plugging up. The lawn tractor is built well and very solid. I purchased mulching blades to go with lawn tractor as it does not come with them.
I purchased the 2 bin soft bagger but the 3 bin soft bagger would have been better for the leaves & pine straw. It is $100 more than the two bagger.
The one & only issue is the left rear tire came flat. The other three tires were at their proper pressures. I have aired it up twice while it was sitting in my garage prior to using for the first time today. If it goes down again, I will remove it & take further action to find where the leak is coming from.
Go Craftsman!...
